De magnifiques plages de sable blanc, des mangroves de l'estuaire et une forêt tropicale sèche abritant des tonnes d'animaux sauvages et de nature, des singes hurleurs, des tortues de mer et bien plus encore, vous y attendent au paradis.

Endroit incroyable pour la détente, la natation, le surf, le bodyboard, le golf, la pêche, la plage et les couchers de soleil à couper le souffle toute l'année.

À une courte marche de plusieurs restaurants et bars locaux et d'une épicerie à seulement 3 pâtés de maisons. Superbe emplacement à Playa Avellanas. Court et pittoresque, 8 minutes à pied de la belle plage de sable blanc.

Nous vous recommandons de vous rendre à l’aéroport de Liberia (LIR), à seulement 1 heure 20 de distance, ce que nous pouvons facilement organiser pour que votre chauffeur vous attende, ainsi que pour faire une grande épicerie sur le chemin du retour. Des taxis et diverses excursions sont également disponibles, notamment des tyroliennes, des quads, de l'équitation, des catamarans, des volcans, etc.

Nous sommes idéalement situés à côté du JW Marriott et du parcours de golf 18 trous de classe mondiale à Hacienda Pinilla, et à seulement 25 minutes au sud de Playa Tamarindo. Les voitures de location ne sont pas nécessaires, mais vous pouvez les déposer à la maison si nécessaire.

Ben was an amazing host. Playa Avellanas is very rural, and Ben guided us in right to his gate, no problem. Ben is super attentive, and was checking in with us frequently. He saved us a lot of money with his spot on recommendations regarding excursions and restaurants. The boardwalk to the beach, and the beach are amazing. Restaurants in the area - off the charts!

Ben was a fabulous host and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The location of this beach house and the close and convenient beach access is its main selling point for sure. The house itself was a little more rustic than we anticipated but we found it comfortable. Kitchen is very small and has only the most basic supplies but nearby restaurants are exceptional so we didn’t mind. Overall a positive experience. The beach is BEAUTIFUL!!

Ben was an amazing host. He wanted our family to have a great vacation and offered his time and local knowledge to make that happen. The house was perfect. It was clean, comfortable and private. The 8-10 minute walk to the beach on the boardwalk through the mangroves was a daily delight. We couldn’t have asked for anything more! Driving back to Maine after our arrival back in Boston, my son asked what everyone’s highlight of the trip was. No one was able to come up with a highlight because the entire trip was exceptional!

The property is located just across from a great surf spot. However, there is a bit of a walk through a beautiful Mangrove boardwalk to get there. Just down the road, there's more accessible surf spots that you can drive right up to. The property felt very safe with a gate that was always locked. The house was very spacious and had three king size beds with each bedroom having its own air conditioning and bathroom. The house is a bit dark but I know that Ben is planning to install more lighting. The hot water was a bit hit or miss but honestly given the heat, cold showers felt totally fine. Ben is super responsive and friendly. He's very willing to provide advice for spots to visit around the area. The listing does say that there is washer and dryer but the washer is a bit primitive and you just dry your clothes on the clothesline which was fine as it dried very quickly given the heat. Overall a great stay for our family.

Also, thank you so much for your feedback as we find it so very helpful. We did have some electrical issues that were since addressed, as we just replaced some breakers and infrastructure, that were effecting our electric water heater. There were also a couple light bulbs that we replaced along with a light switch that was fixed. Our cleaning ladies do prefer the Costa Rican style washing machines as they get clothes and sheets much cleaner. Also we do dry in the sun on the line as much as possible, especially this time of year, as it makes laundry turn out so much better, and our staff is available to assist with laundry anytime. Thank you again so much. We so greatly appreciate you.

Loved this place!

This property was fantastic and we absolutely loved our stay here! It was only a 10 minute walk or so to the beach which was stunning. It was homey, clean, secure, filled with wildlife, and let me just say I think I may have taken the best naps of my life on those hammocks. Ben was a fantastic host and even provided private surfing lessons for our kiddos which they absolutely adored. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home!

Beautiful Location Lovely House

The hammocks were so relaxing with all the nature sounds and birds singing. There were even howler monkeys and scarlett macaws in the yard. The walk to the beach was absolutely gorgeous and the beach was even more stunning. This was all around such a great stay. Can’t say enough nice things.

I loved it

This place was great. Though Avellanas Beach was a short walk from the property, it felt secluded and remote. I could hear howler monkeys in the trees, which was cool. The house was gated and felt safe and had all the amenities we needed for our stay. I would gladly visit again.

The house was perfect for our little surf adventure! Once we figured out that the boardwalk to the beach was through the Cabinas Las Olas across the street...the location is perfect! Thanks for being so accommodating to a later check-out!

Great Costa Rican Getaway

Stayed here with a group of 5. There was plenty of room for us in the house, it didn't feel cramped. The property was nice and secure and the hammocks were great to lounge in. We all felt like the walk to the beach was fine and would consider it the definition of walking distance. Would highly recommend this place for a group looking for an authentic Tico experience.

Great stay

We had a great trip. The host/owner was on site and immediately responded to any concerns we had. We were there a month, so we became friends. We had several dinners together, and shared rides into tamarindo for groceries, produce, etc. he was great with our boys and their girlfriends, helping them with surf boards and advice. The listing, however,, was not accurate……there was no downhill or cross country skiing.

Amazing stay at PLAYA AVELLANAS BEACH HOUSE

My family and I had an amazing stay at Playa Avellanas Beach House. Ben is the best!! So thoughtful and truly cares about his guests. We were lucky enough to have him give our three kids surf lessons (all got up on a wave)!! The house is an easy walk to the beach and Ben gets his guests access to the famous board walk through the mangroves. The house is also very close to a number of restaurants and shops yet does not feel touristy at all. My family and I highly recommend staying with Ben and enjoying all the beauty Playa Avellanas has to offer.

We loved our stay here and were bummed to leave and to say goodbye to our host, Ben! This was a fantastic spot for our family of six, with three bedrooms, each featuring a king-size bed and its own bathroom. The local beach and the walk to it were amazing—we saw so much wildlife! Our host was incredibly helpful, providing excellent recommendations for restaurants and local activities. One highlight of our trip and a recommendation from our host was visiting a nearby turtle hatchery, where our kids got to release a baby turtle into the ocean. Ben even shared some freshly plantains for the property, which was a cool experience for our kids. Thanks again!

family adventure

This VRBO was an excellent fit for out family: me, my spouse, and our two young adult children. We were together and yet had plenty of privacy- 3 bathrooms (fantastic showers) and 3 large comfortable beds! Ben is a wonderful host, providing great advice and recommendations, easy to contact at any time. We rented a car for our trip but rarely used it while in Avellanas, preferring to walk rather than ride around on rough roads. There is quite a variety of dining options that are 5-10 min walk. We cooked a few meals at the house as well. The stove works well. Beach access down the road and through Cabinas de Las Olas was a nice walk, especially when rewarded by magnificent surf and gorgeous sunsets.

Relaxing stay

Ben could not have been more helpful or attentive, even providing additional details and tips prior to our arrival. He was there to greet us, but his presence was overshadowed by the group of howler monkeys on the property - what a thrill! The house was spacious enough for the 4 of us, the stunning beach was a short walk away, and the local fare was delicious and affordable. The area was quiet enough that we were able to relax in the hammocks. All in all, a fantastic way to end our Costa Rica trip!

Very Spacious, Comfortable, & Walk to Beach!

Ben is an excellent host. He stayed in touch with me the whole time we stayed there to make sure everything was great. His property is amazing. Very comfortable, spacious and waking distance to Lola's and all the surf spots for us. Also 10 mins drive to Playa Negra. Big beds, AC in all rooms, Netflix, hot water and even had Apple TV. Lots of hammocks outside to relax. I highly recommend this place. Pura Vida to the max!

Ben is the best

Ben is the best host. He is super easy to contact, he replies in less than a hour usually, and if there’s anything you need he’s the guy to ask. His recommendations were wonderful. We loved the restaurants nearby, and Playa Avellanas is incredible. Thanks so much for everything Ben. Pura Vida!

Perfect Costa Rican experience!

Loved this place!! Clean, spacious home with everything we needed. Ben was very kind, attentive and made sure we got there okay. He was close if we needed him but we had our privacy and didn’t see him. We went to sleep and woke up to the birds and had howler monkeys literally right outside our door! Playa Avellanas was one of the prettiest beaches and we had a great time at Lola’s!! Lots of things to do in walking distance! Loved it here and can’t recommend this place enough!! Ben was just wonderful!

Live Like a Local

Ben and his staff went out of their way to initiate and maintain communication with us as soon as we arrived in Costa Rica. We loved spending time outside on the hammocks and deck, and the proximity to the beach and restaurants was appropriate walking distance for our family which included small children. We had some hiccups with hot water and outlets due to a lightening storm but Ben and his crew were very responsive and got the issues resolved promptly. The property felt safe and we were happy to experience life in a Costa Rican style home. I would recommend the property to anyone with similar expectations. We would stay there again! Thanks Ben!

Not what expected

Aunts in every bathroom. Very heavy doors including main gate Combination Two adults needed to slide gate. Beach not what you call walking distance. Water pressure was so low could barely wash or brush teeth much less shower. The place was so depressing, we left after two nights. We are requesting some refund.

We are located in the middle of a dry tropical forest in the most bio diverse country on the planet and we fumigate monthly. The gate wheels have since been cleaned and regreased. We have incredible safety and security here as everything is privately gated. The public water system was having maintenance for maybe a few hours. This happens only occasionally and never lasts long. We are exactly 250 meters from the beach and the walk takes no longer than 10 minutes and has to be one of the most gorgeous on earth. National Geograohic comes to document our beach walk through the mangrove. Our guests receive exclusive paid access from us. These renters came from living in a 20 story penthouse. The husband said he really loved the house and his wife is just not used to the nature. I think she arrived just too stressed out and depressed from the city and unable to handle some peace and quiet. We tried everything to make them feel at home and give a great experience. They seemed to really enjoy the monkeys in the yard. I really hope the very best for them.
