A vacation home done right, and located where every need is met... including a WONDERFUL ice cream shop across the street!
Whether you enjoy a relaxing swim in the warm, clear water of the Gulf of Mexico; relaxing in a sparkling clean swimming pool with a hot tub; witnessing a gorgeous sunset (and maybe the "green flash") from a white sand beach facing the Gulf of Mexico; fishing or jet-skiing in the Gulf of Mexico; sampling the cuisine of nearby restaurants; or experiencing new adventures at nearby attractions in and around the central west coast of Florida... all of these opportunities are available at our Ocean Sands vacation home.
Our personal cozy, studio second "home", has been FULLY UPDATED and meticulously maintained with CLEANLINESS and ORGANIZATION as our highest priorities. Comfortable living amenities include high-quality rattan furniture, a comfortable full QUEEN-SIZED bed with full thickness mattress (11")(not a fold-out), a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious balcony for an open-air refreshment as you overlook the white sand beach of the Gulf of Mexico. Work-friendly amenities include a desk and high-speed Wi-Fi for "Remote Work from Home" activities. Outside recreation amenities include a large heated pool and hot tub, charcoal grill, tiki hut with bar, and a shuffleboard court. A reserved, covered parking space under the building protects you from the elements when walking to and from the main building.
The property is located in the heart of Madeira Beach (FL) in the greater Tampa Bay Area, home of three professional teams: Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Rays, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Book-ended by two of the highest acclaimed beaches in the United States, the surrounding area boasts sports activities, art, cultural venues, a wide variety of entertainment, great seafood, and a brand-new pier in downtown St. Petersburg -- the largest waterfront park (26-acres) in the southeast -- only 30 minutes away! If you enjoy an aquarium, the nearby Florida Aquarium (Tampa) and the newly expanded Clearwater Marine Aquarium offer you fascinating views of marine life!
Five minutes (1.7 miles) from Ocean Sands is John's Pass on the Gulf, a great source of recreational entertainment like deep-sea fishing, jet skiing, parasailing, dining on the water, or leisurely shopping in a wide variety of quaint gift shops along the waterfront. Downtown St. Petersburg is a short 30-minutes away where you will find numerous outside dining venues on Beach Drive, extensive waterfront parks, charming boutique shops, and a twice-daily round-trip ferry to Tampa. Cultural attractions include the Dali Museum, Dale Chihuly glass museum, James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art, the St. Petersburg Museum of History, or enjoy a beverage in a rocking chair on the large "front porch" of the historic Vinoy Renaissance Resort Hotel (1925) overlooking the waterfront of downtown St. Petersburg. Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays, is only a few blocks from downtown with plenty of parking.
Just a few minutes south of John's Pass, you can be magically transformed back in history by visiting the iconic, 94-year-old Don Cesar Hotel on the beach. A recently completed multi-million renovation created a two-story pool bar and rooftop lookout over the Gulf but, more importantly, a 1950s-themed ice cream shop and a revitalized Uncle Andy's market await your exploration. The iconic Vinoy and Don Cesar hotels are a "must-see" if only to walk back in history to what your parents or grandparents experienced in the "Roaring 20s."
Have you considered a beach vacation without need for a car? Nearly every vacation need can be met in the immediate area of the condo, and a bus is available at the boundary of the property to transport you up and down the beach or to downtown St. Petersburg. For more personalized travel, Uber operates throughout the beach.
An array of restaurants will satisfy the most discriminating palate, whatever your tastes. Winn-Dixie (Food), a CVS (Pharmacy), and a charming ice cream shop are within an easy walk, and a Publix is only a short drive away. Walmart and the Bay Pines Veterans Affairs and Health Care Center are both within 2-miles of the condo.
Rates for our customers are fully competitive with comparable properties. Guests on extended stays (28-days or more) enjoy a 5% discount. Sorry, no smoking and no pets!
If flying, Tampa International Airport (TPA) is 40-minutes (25-miles) away. The St. Petersburg-Clearwater Airport is 23-minutes (13-miles) away. If driving, access is an easy exit off major thruways I-75, I-4, I-275, or Route 19.
