Great stay

My husband and I spent five wonderful days at Gite du Fancy in advance of our family barge trip on the Canal du Nivernais. Our focus was on the canal trip, and our stay at Gite du Fancy proved a welcome surprise in that it provided its own special joy. The property is a family farmhouse that has been lovingly restored by the owners. It is comfortable, well-appointed, quiet, and just beautiful. It is a wonderful launch point for exploring parts of central Burgundy and the Loire region -- many wonderful places to explore are less than an hour a way and a day trip to parts of the Loire Valley is entirely possible. Travel here takes one through beautiful countryside, covering forests, agricultural, and rolling hills. The owners are truly wonderful people -- helpful, courteous and so very friendly. They helped us with several questions we had about various aspects of our trip, were readily available to us, and went above and beyond to make our stay very special. Delphine, who lives close by, was so very, very friendly, personable and helpful, and her mom was equally available by email any time we needed her. We hope to return!! For visitors like us from the U.S., it is necessary to have a car to get around -- there is a good grocery and boulangerie about ten minutes away by car. Also, the locals primarily speak French and are very patient with those of us whose first language is English. All in all, a very special place in the heartland of France.

An awesome villa!!! spacious bedrooms, comfortable beds, soft towels, fully equipped kitchens-with 'top of the line' equipment-every thing that you need (and more...), parking space. The villa is beautifully maintained and provides the best atmosphere to enjoy the charms of Loire valley. We stayed for 4 nights and It is a perfect place. We highly recommend it and really hope to be back.

The house is exactly what you see on the pictures, nice and cosy. She’s set in a beautiful spot in the Nièvre (Bourgogne region). Exactly an escape to the country like everybody dreams of. Many things to visit in the region or, if you prefer, to rest in the peaceful garden with a good book and a glass of wine. The owners are on the other side of the street and ready to help if needed or if you are looking for any piece of advice for a good restaurant. Overall, a very pleasant stay we can recommend.
