  • We're coming back!

"Louise and I stayed at Casa Jardin for seven weeks from mid-February 2016. The headline description of “American designer's 'Mexican-modern meets Bauhaus' style weekend hide-away” is spot on. Those that appreciate good architecture and thoughtful design will love this house. It is light, airy, spacious and with great outside seating areas opening up from the kitchen/dining/living area. The kitchen is very well equipped. The garden is a real delight; and has been planned by someone with a love of gardening. Louise counted thirty different shrubs and flowers plus a lemon tree! Erika and her team provided wonderful support and the few minor glitches were dealt with efficiently and promptly. Regina, the maid, (always cheerful) also did a great job. Only two things to be aware of: the street up to the house is steep but it is only 300 metres long and it does get you fit. And this is a Mexican area (not some sanitised enclave) so the happy kids do play football and shoot baskets in the Callejon in the evenings. But we did give them a new football before we left. What really says it all is that we’ve booked again for 2017."

  • Exquisite Home

"My husband and I with our two children recently stayed in this lovely home in San Miguel. We loved it the moment we arrived. We were met by Sofia who worked for the property management and she gave us a tour and debriefed us about the house ie. How to work the three gas fireplaces, stove etc. The house was furnished with local art and antiques. Each room was comfortable and the outside sitting areas were lovely with lush vegetation and beautiful flowering plants. There are four patios/ seating areas and we would move from one to another depending on the time of day and whether we wanted to enjoy the sunset or the more immediate surroundings. The bedrooms were all very comfortable with quality mattresses and bedding. Each bedroom had an ensuite and were full of character with Mexican tiles in the bathrooms and artwork on the walls. The master bedroom had a gas fireplace and the other bedrooms had woodfire places that we were told were for show only. They did add character and as it was chilly in the evenings the space heaters were used in the bedrooms to get rid of any chill. There were also electric blankets that were used so no one was chilled. The two bedrooms were across the courtyard from the main house and the master suite. This would be a great set up for couples or older children. Our children who are 10 and 12 found it a bit frightening the first night but by the second night they were fine and enjoyed their bit of independence! The cook/housekeeper Lola is a lovely person and made a number of delicious meals for us. We felt truly pampered! The location of the home is spectacular. Set slightly up on the hill it affords a great view of the city along with the various churches. There is a small church two doors away which is very pretty and the street itself is cobblestone and full of character . We loved our week in San Miguel. It was a wonderful place to spend Christmas. We were able to partake in a posada and also enjoyed the live nativity scene in the Jardin. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. We hope to be back one day and will certainly recommend this home to friends."

  • A little peace of paradise

"The house was amazing. It was a 10 minute walk uphill from the city center. It was in a quiet safe neighborhood. Definitely worth the stay. I hope to return again next year!"
