... Just try to imagine... a fishermen's island in the Mexican Caribbean, an island with 42 kilometers of empty virgin beaches, a beautiful tropical garden with coco palms and flamboyanes, where coloured birds and shy iguanas live together. Among trees and flowers, a bungalow made with wood and straw placed in the natural landscape.
This spot is real and it is ZOMAY (ZOna MAYa) It is a special place that offers to the ones who are looking for peace, tranquillity, privacy, and a lovely welcome - a completely different option. At last you can feel good, comfortable, and relaxed just like at your home or even better.
ZOMAY is a tiny resort with 8 romantic bungalows built and furnished with taste and love for ethnic details in a simple and natural environment.
Our place is placed at a five-minute walk from the small and peaceful Holbox's Village, in front of a solitary beach, where none will come to disturb you. You will discover the beauty of the island, cycling, or if you prefer, you can have at your disposal a barbecue to cook the fish that you caught or which you just bought from some fisherman on the beach in the early morning.
You will live with nature spending your time watching all the different kinds of bird squadrons that play together, or just swimming in a sea of clear water and amazing colours, relax swinging in a hammock, taste the freshness of coconut water that we will have the pleasure to offer you. And in the late afternoon catch the wonderful show of the sun that hides away behind the horizon... and the night will be very romantic when the full moon reflects in the sea her silver light while the stars joyfully twinkle, just for you.

Not a great place to stay! Slightly seedy and very run down. No hot water. Giant roaches in the refrigerator! I would never stay here again. Perfect location on the beach though. Totally disappointing! However, Holbox Island is a very special place and I would visit again. I have my own home on VRBO and have stayed in many VRBO homes, but this is the first time I have felt that I have been mislead! The photos do not tell the truth, and as much as we enjoyed Holbox Island, going "home" at the end of the day was very disappointing! In fact it was really gross! Never again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 8/9
