Map & Owner's Profile
Medieval Home in the Heart of the Dordogne, Périgord Noir
Year Purchased: 2005
Why the Owner Chose St. Cyprien
The house is very close to the Dordogne River, where we enjoy canoeing and swimming with the kids. There are literally one thousand castles in the region, with two of the most spectacular, Chateau de Beynac and Castelnaud, being minutes from St Cyprien. France's national prehistory museum is located in the next village, Les Eyzies, which is also home to sevaral wonderful caves with prehistoric paintings, like Font de Gaume. Also, the climate is superb!
The Unique Benefits at this House
St Cyprien is the ideal sized village, with several terrific restaurants, bakeries, cafes, banks, and a vibrant local life without being a touristic town.
Owner's Map of St. Cyprien
My day job has me working on children's computer games as an artist/animator, but when I can break away from regular life in the SF bay area there's nothing I enjoy more than spending part of the summer in St Cyprien with my children.
