  Our recent road trip to Colorado around 4th of July ranks as one of the best vacations so far, and an important reason for this, is our stay at the Vacation Rental of Michael & Denise. We started our vacation, just a few days after the really severe Waldo Canyon fire. There was no doubt that we were filled with some skepticism and a sense of adventurous anticipation. We will never forget our very first drive through the serpentine curves of the Rockies to reach this magnificent, mountain home! Michael was ahead of us leading the way (the last few miles are tricky for the first time) and we followed him in our car taking in the breathtaking views, and breathing in the thin mountain air. Once inside the house, it was love at first sight! Clean, spacious,tastefully-decorated, and a fully-stocked home, proudly boasting the best balcony views, including a picture-postcard view of the Garden of Gods.We had rented both levels since we travelled with extended family, and this gave us a lot of room to gather around. Our cousins who were also in Colorado at the same time, came by for a short visit one afternoon, and quipped that it would just be enough to drive to the house and back every day and call it a great vacation! Colorado Springs & Manitou Springs is home to several attractions and this rental's location offered such close proximity to these sites.For those considering to rent this place, you can be rest assured that what you see ( in the pictures listed) is what you'll get and you would certainly get back home with a feeling to come and stay here once again. After an almost 10 day vacation, we couldn't imagine staying at any other place which would have given us a really real Rocky Mountain High!!!

  We had an absolutley wonderful vacation in Manitou Springs and this property just helped set the scene and the feel of our mountain vacation. The listing was very accurately described and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you needed to make a nice meal. We also rented the basement level so our teenage daughter could have some privacy from her teenage brother. It was spacious and gave us plenty of room. Michael and Denise were very helpful and very friendly and gave good suggestions of sights and activities we might want to see and do. There were so many things to do right in the area that we couldn't get to everything. We drove up to pikes peak, which was absolutley breathtaking views, and we rode horses through the Garden of the Gods as well as explored a few other times on our own, went to cave of the winds, zip lined, seven falls, Manitou Springs cliff dwellings, and only an hour away from some wonderful white water rafting and the Royal Gorge Bridge. This vacation ranks at the top for our family vacations and our lodging helped set the mood. The wildlife was plentiful and they were part of the community as they did not run away when you drove by them. We saw plenty of deer, fox, bobcat and finally a black bear our last day. I would highly reccomend this place to anyone planning a vacation near the Colorado Springs area. We would definitely consider staying here when we come to Manitou Springs again. The town of Manitou Springs was a very nice, quaint and charming little village with many shops and eating places and the people were all so frindly. Our stay was shortly after the Waldo Canyon forrest fires and Michael was very accomodating and putting our fears to rest. The fires really had no impact on our stay at all. Thanks Michael and Denise for helping to make this one of our family favorite vacations.

  We just returned from a week's stay at this lovely home. Denise & Michael have created a very comfortable, well-furnished, spotless vacation get-away and were both helpful and easy to work with. Altogether a super vacation. We'll be back!

  Recommended for: Age 55+.

  Our extended family of 7 adults just returned from a wonderful relaxing stay at the Mountain House. We had use of the main and lower levels and enough privacy for all. Morning views aand evening sunsets were spectacular. The accommodations were wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you Michael and Denise.

  We were so lucky to stay in this home for a week in early June. It was so nice! What a spectacular view. The home was in excellent condition. It was so quiet and relaxing. The weather was fantastic! My kids had a fabulous time and cannot wait to go back and stay in the house. We were just a few minutes from Manitou Springs and the kids' favorite part was the arcade in town. We are in LOVE with Colorado and cannot wait to come back! Thank you Michael!!

  Rocky Mountain High is right! I couldn't think of a better name for it. Beautiful home, beautiful scenery, wonderful owners that were very helpful at making sure all of our needs were met. All the wildlife we saw was awesome. It's so wonderful to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city but still be just a few minutes away from all the tourist attractions. This was one of our favorite vacations and we will be sure to tell all our friends. We also hope to stay there again sometime soon. Ginger, Kansas

  This was one of the best vacations we have ever had! The home is located right in the heart of the forest. I felt like an adventurer everytime I stepped outside. The home is beautiful and the location is unbelievable. If you want to experience what it's like to live in the mountains then this is the place to stay!

  We completely enjoyed our one week stay this August. Everything inside was new and clean. We cooked most of our meals and appreciated the kitchen was being well stocked. The view from the deck was breathtaking. As we drank our morning coffee outside, we enjoyed looking at all the birds, wild turkeys, chipmunks, and deers. The area was very quiet & private yet only a short drive away from Manitou Springs & Colorado Springs. Would definately recommend this place to family and friends.

  It was one of the most awesome places we have ever stayed. Everything we needed was there, total comfort. Breath taking views, herds of deer, flocks of turkeys, chipmunks, and about 23 bird species identifed right off the deck! Places to hike w/o having to drive somewhere. Quiet and totally relaxing. All I can say is "wonderful."

  We visited in mid June 2008 for a week and stayed on the main level only. Everything was new and clean. The owner was very responsive to our needs. We were comfortable with 4 adults and 2 very small children. The drive up to the house and the view of the mountains from the living room couch was spectacular!
