I can't recommend Jeff or this villa enough. This was our first trip to St. Bart's, as well as first time using vrbo.com. I was a little apprehensive at first with the thought of dealing with a private owner and not a hotel for our vacations plans. After doing quite a bit of research, and discovering that Jeff, the owner, was also a fairly active member on the St Bart's forum website, I felt much more at ease. The Villa has a wonderful view from both floors. Its about a 3-4 minute walk to Flamands beach. We were interested in seeing all of the beaches and although it seems on the map to be in the far corner of the island, we were never more than 10 minutes car ride from wherever we went. Jeff sent us a long list of things to know/bring ahead of time, as well as many recommendations for restaurants and beaches for the trip. He had someone meet us at the airport and drive to the villa with us after getting our car. He called the first day to check how everything was, as well as mid-week to check on us again. It was like having a concierge with us. Each day after coming back from the beach, we would sit on the deck, eat some cheese and fruit and look down at Flamands Bay. The villa was very clean, and had a maid service ever other day to clean and change the towels and linens. We were very happy with the rental, and will be back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We absolutely LOVE this villa! As a matter of fact....We love it so much, we've been back twice! The villa is perched on a hillside above Flamands beach, with an unbelieveable view. It is on two levels, with the sleeping quarters and jacuzzi/spa on the bottom floor, and the living/dining area on the upper level. Decks surround both levels, with ample seating, and numerous chairs on the lower level for sunning, and plenty of privacy for au naturel sunbathing...not that it really matters...it IS St. Barths, after all!!! We loved sitting on the upper deck every morning, having our cafe au laits and breakfast from the bakery just up the hill. The kitchen is very well equipped, if you prefer to cook at the villa, and there is a Weber gas grill on the deck off the kitchen. The living room is brightly lit, well furnished, and very comfortable, and the villa is equipped with satellite TV and high speed internet service. There is also an Ipod dock attached to the stereo, so bring your music! The lower level has three bedrooms, with beautiful furniture, and king beds. The shower in the master suite is gorgeous, large, and is glass on the back sides, and you can shower in the sunshine every morning. The jacuzzi/spa on is on the lower deck, large enough for four, and is kept at the perfect temp for using as a plunge pool in the daytime to cool of when sunning, but warm enough to enjoy a lounge in with a glass of wine under the stars at night. The owner has had custom lighting installed around the spa for great evening mood lighting! Tres romantique!!!! The beach is less than a five minute walk down the hill, and Flamands tends to be nearly deserted. Be sure to take advantage of the lunch/massage special at nearby Isle De France Hotel. (Also within a five minute walk). The very best thing about this villa...and there are many wonderful things...is the owner. Jeff will bend over backwards, literally, to make your visit unforgettable. This villa has been the scene of numerous engagements, honeymoons and anniversaries for a reason...Jeff will do EVERYTHING to make it special. The property is immaculately maintained, and the manager, gardener and housekeeper are top notch. The photos really do not do this amazing place justice, it is simply spectacular! We will keep coming back over and over! We can't say enough good about this villa, or the owners. If you are coming to St. Barths for the first time...book here! You won't regret it!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

About the owner: We reside in Ann Arbor, MI where Jeff is a Property Manager Caroline is an MD on faculty at the University of Michigan. We vacation ourselves at Flamands Blue twice a year and Jeff arranges all the maintence himself to keep the villa in flawless condition.
Why the Owner Chose Flamands:
We vacationed in the Caribbean and fell in love with St Barts. We looked all over the island for a villa and Flamands was our first choice. Flamands Blue is in a beautiful neighborhood and the location is pefect since it's away from the noise and bussle of St Jean and Gustavia and within walking distance to the beautiful Flamands Beach.

Views off both terraces (one sun---the other shaded) are spectacular. It's decorated in crisp bright blue and turquoise 'beach house' colors that eveyone loves.
As you slide back the curtain first thing in the morning you will savor the ocean view right off the master suite.
In the evening we and our Guests look forward to stepping out the master into the warm Jacuzzi with nothing above but stars and the sound of the ocean waves on the beach below----a truly magical place...
On the practical side: there are many 'American' features not found in others... such as top/bottom handrails, LED lighted steps and switches on the stairs plus screens---not to mention the villa is completely non-smoking.
Fact: you will not stay in a superior location on St Barts or a better mainted private villa than Flamands Blue!
