Accommodations:  Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 4)

Events of September 11th and United's bankruptcy caused me to take an early retirement from United Airlines' Paris base so my wonderful Paris apartment is now available for YOU to enjoy while I'm in San Diego and I now offer unlimited calling to the USA and Canada and throughout Western Europe and France for FREE. Wireless internet, also.

This one-bedroom apartment has the privacy of two bedrooms. Living room door closes and occupants of each room have access to toilet, bathroom, and kitchen without disturbing the other; important when you first arrive and jet-lag makes for irregular sleeping hours. Twin beds in bedroom can be pushed together to make a king-size bed. Very comfortable double-size, fold-down couch in living room. Bathroom has big soaking tub and both fixed and hand-held shower heads, and a washer/dryer for light loads of laundry.

Fifth floor apartment with elevator big enough for several people and their luggage! All-glass living room wall opens wide onto private balcony overlooking center gardens (please water my flowers!). NO city noise. Light and sunny. View of lovely Victorian buildings. Loads of closet space (rare in Paris) to keep apartment orderly.

Everything you need to cook your own gourmet meals. Go French and get fresh food at nearby Poncelet, one of the largest daily outdoor markets in Paris, or if you prefer a US-style grocery store (with peanut butter, cereal, etc.) Galleries Gourmand is also nearby.

Convenient location. Walk five minutes to Arc de Triomphe Metro station where metro lines #1, #2, #6, and the RER-A and C will whisk you quickly to anywhere in the city. Most of the important streets of Paris radiate out from the Arc de Triomphe. Also walk to the Air France bus which goes nonstop to the airport every 15 minutes. Excellent neighborhood, prestige apartment building located on upscale Ave des Ternes, close to lots of shops, bakeries, and restaurants.

My quiet, nicely furnished apartment has everything you need for a comfortable vacation including an extensive library of guide books and maps of the city, metro and bus system, etc. Please read the comments in my online guestbook!

Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 8

Describe why I bought a place in Paris? Are you kidding? It's the most beautiful city in the world and you would NEVER run out of things to see and do! Plus it's so fun to explore other parts of France after a week in Paris.

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment

Brian and I fell in love in Paris and enjoy going back every late July to see the end of the Tour de France. We stay on through mid-August attending the wonderful summer concerts around the city. It is so easy to get around Paris on the Metro from this central location near the Arc de Triomphe. We love shopping daily in the nearby open market for the scrumptious summer fruits that taste soooo much better than at home. Amazingly fresh ingredients turns every dish in to a taste sensation and makes cooking a pleasure. But we love walking to Leon de Bruxelles for curried moules, dipping French bread into the curried broth...it just doesn't get any better than that! I can't wait to go back!

Owner's Map of Paris Arrondissement 8

I was based in Paris working as a Purser/Flight Attendant for United Airlines for 5 years. After 9/11 I took a voluntary furlough and came back to San Diego and started renting out my Paris apartment to vacationers. It was such fun interacting with people, especially those going to experience Paris for the very 1st time! But I enjoy talking to the most seasoned Francofiles, too. I was hooked and started my own Vacation Rental business in San Diego. NancysVacationRentals. Now I have 36 rentals but still take the time to return to Paris twice a year to "check on my property." Someone has to do it! I'm happy to share my local knowledge with you. Photo of my Mom and I at her Paris-themed 80th birthday party!

    • This is a great place to stay in Paris. I t's so comfortable, this is my second time using it. Access to the apartment is easy, both from the airport via the Air France bus and inside the building via an elevator so luggage is no problem. Nancy has thought of everything a guest could need to be comfortable from lots of linens to lots of guide books to Paris, for walkers, foodies, shoppers, etc. Enjoy!

    • Millions of tourists visit Paris each year, but few experience the Parisian lifestyle. Staying in Nancy's apartment for two weeks in September 2009, we were fortunate to do just that. The apartment was cozy and met our every need. The neighborhood was safe and the shopping, corner cafe's and the Metro were close by. A terrific experience and we look forward to returning and would highly recommend staying in Nancy's apartment.

    • We loved Paris! We arrived from London to Paris by train and were whisked away by cab to Nancy's apt. Everything was perfectly situated for conveniences and transportation links. We lived like Parsiens, we walked, biked and used the metro. Every morning we would indulge ourselves with fresh baked pastries and fruits from the nearby bakery and open air market. In front of the wall display of the metro system,we would plan our daily excursion. Everything was thought of. Fans and windows were adequate. Security was not an issue for us. The apt's home office was complete with a library with a desktop and printer. As we would not return to the apt until early evening, we enjoyed our soaking in the full-sized tub. We benefitted too, in having the toilet seperated down the hall. The pullout sofa was sooo comfortable for a grown couple. We enjoyed the long summer nights! We were never in bed before midnight. There were some great restaurant finds in close proximity! As this was our first trip to Paris, I would commend Nancy and Jeremy's personal attention to every detail. I have rented from them in the past and will continue to do so.

    • My husband and I stayed in Nancy's Paris apartment for seven days August 2009, and found it to be very comfortable. Nancy has indeed taken care of everything that one might need while at a "home away from home". The location was wonderful with an exceptional Italian restaurant a few doors down and a great steakhouse across the street. If we're ever in Paris again, we would certainly stay at Nancy's.

    • This was our 4th trip to Paris. Had previously stayed in hotels but decided to try a flat. Glad we did. The apartment was exactly as presented on-line. Nice, safe, secure location. Nothing glamorous, but comfortable. A good value. Many restaurants, shops, etc nearby. Short walk to metro. Very convenient to get to/from CDG airport due to AirFrance bus. Would stay again.

    • Nancy...we had a great 4 days staying in your apartment. One of the things we enjoyed most was the fact the apartment gives you the feel of a real Paris neighborhood. The location is convenient to the Metro as well as well as grocery, bakery, wine shops and many local restaurants, etc. Would definitely stay in this apartment again. Thanks. • We spent a week in Paris and loved the apartment. It was a great location. Within a 5 minute walk of two metro stops. There was a great little Italian Restaurant just to the left as you come out the front door. A nice market was about a block away. We would stay here again without hesitation.

    • We just returned from spending a 10 day Christmas Holiday at Nancy's apt. The area is absolutely fantastic for shopping and eating, esp the open air market across the street and the bakery nearby. We were totally content to come "home" every night after sightseeing to our quiet, pleasant, fully furnished apt. It was an ideal arrangement for three adults. I would come back to this place anytime. Nancy made our trip almost effortless with all her suggestions.
