Freshly remodeled and updated 3,500 square-foot Incline Village home, right across the highway from Lake Tahoe, and convenient to all north shore ski areas, plus Sand Harbor and all other north and east shore beaches. The home, at the intersection of Highway 28 and Lakeshore Drive on the western edge of Incline Village, sleeps ten people in beds (plus a couple more on futons) and boasts wireless Internet and many other amenities.

Of particular interest are the three large gathering spaces: the great room, the living room, and the "club" room--plus the game-room/family suite at the back of the garage. Everybody gets a space!

• Large living room with filtered lake views, gas fireplace, seating area, ping-pong, and foosball
• Big family room with gas fireplace, wide screen TV with DVD/VCR, card table, and lots of books and videos
• Attached game room/family suite with pool table, large TV/DVD, dart board, queen bed and bunk bed, and full bath—perfect for a fourth couple, or as a teenager retreat
• Fully equipped skylit kitchen with granite counters and eating bar adjoining a large dining-entertaining area to make a “great room” that’s perfect for entertaining—and featuring a cozy wood stove and easy access to the deck
• Custom, handmade dining table seats eight, with five more seats at the kitchen bar; comfortable leather chairs encourage long evenings of conversation, cards, music—whatever suits your fancy
• Lake-view deck with large hot tub and big gas barbecue
• Master suite with deluxe king bed, TV/DVD, and spacious private bath with twin sinks—plus easy access to the deck and hot tub
• Queen bedroom and twin bedroom, with a full bath to share
• Game-room suite, with queen bed, bunk beds, and full bath--plus a full-size pool table, TV, and DVD player
• Garage parking for one car, plus off-street parking for at least three more + trailers
• Mud room for paraphernalia you don't want in the house
• Big lawn area in front for Frisbee, croquet, playing catch—even sledding!
• Quiet, unobtrusive, on-site caretaker in a studio apartment off the garage: he will keep the driveway cleared of snow and help you with anything you may need related to the house and its features.

Incline Village is wonderful in the winter. Here's why:

SKIING AND SNOW PLAY: The house is within a half hour or so (depending on weather and traffic) of all the major north shore ski areas: Squaw Valley, Alpine, Northstar, Homewood, Mount Rose. There is an excellent sledding area up Mount Rose highway 431 (which runs to Reno, about 45 minutes); it’s on your left, right near the summit, and takes about 15 minutes to get to from our place. This is also a staging area for snowmobiles (across the highway on the right, away from the sleds—so bring ’em if you got ’em). Finally, don’t overlook our own backyard resort, Diamond Peak. It’s about 10 minutes, door-to-door, from our house, down 28 a couple of miles, at Country Club Drive. It has excellent, albeit not many, runs, with good variety (groomers, bumps, trees, terrain park) for all skill levels, including expert (great on a powder day). It’s rarely crowded, and there’s a high-speed quad to the top, so we typically get more “vert” in a day there than at other places, even Squaw, since lines are never long. The terrain park is a good one, say our snowboarders. Diamond Peak is also quite inexpensive, especially compared with the large resorts. Lake views from the intermediate-level ridge run and the mountain café are truly fantastic, maybe unrivalled. Beginner instruction can be found at all areas, including Diamond Peak, but is especially good at Tahoe Donner, outside Truckee, about 45 minutes from the house. They have broad, beginner/intermediate slopes and a nice terrain park; it’s inexpensive, almost never crowded, and the teachers have been good over the years.

BIKING: There is a beautiful biking trail that goes right along Lakeshore Drive, just across the street from our house. There are many miles of biking trails up here, aside from just this little local one, including expert terrain for mountain bikers, and if you visit Village Ski Loft, they’ll put you on to them; they have a great bike shop, staffed by enthusiasts.

GOOD EATS! The Hyatt at Incline has a restaurant on the water, Lone Eagle Grill, that is beautiful, and the food is fine. It’s down Lakeshore Drive, about a mile and a half from the house. If you want to sit on their outside terrace on a nice day, plan to get there early. Nearby Kings Beach features Caliente! an excellent, neo-New-Mexico restaurant, with unique, really delicious food (the sopapillas for dessert are incredible). Gar Woods in Carnelian Bay is one of the good restaurants on the north shore—a 20 minute drive from the house, and well worth it. In the same area, Spindleshanks is also good, and a bit closer. A bit farther along toward Tahoe City in Lake Forest is Bacchi’s Inn, a legendary, family-owned Italian place that’s been in business for nearly 70 years. The Cabin in Kings Beach is excellent for breakfast, as is The Old Post Office in Carnelian Bay. There is only one good pizza place in Incline (in our opinion) and that’s Mofo’s, in Christmas Tree Village center, on your left, heading for Raley’s. New in that same complex is Asian Noodles Too, a really fine Vietnamese/Chinese noodle joint with reasonable prices and a friendly owner who really wants you to enjoy your visit. Finally, Soule Domain, a fine, Zagat-rated dinner restaurant, is only about five minutes away in Crystal Bay. It’s a log cabin with just a dozen tables or so and is reasonably priced, especially considering the truly excellent cuisine. Highly recommended!

Spacious house and great floorplan for a large group

This house was perfect for our group of 12. There are numerous rooms for people to break off to and hang out. The kitchen, dining area, and back deck are very spacious and allowed everyone to be together. The house had everything we needed and is very convenient for getting to Kings Beach or the Incline beaches. Thanks again. We had a great time.

Wonderful Summer Fun too!

Thank you for providing such a fun place to stay. We loved the many areas to spread out, the spacious kitchen and dining area, the evenings in the hot tub, and all the many games (foosball, ping pong, pool, croquet, board games, etc.) The kids ages 3-17 all entertained themselves while at the house. (Which meant mom got a vacation too!) Beds were very comfortable and easily slept all 10 people. The washer/dryer facilities came in very handy with a large group. We had family that drove from Reno, Sparks, and Carson City who enjoyed time BBQing and visiting with us at the house--with plenty of room. Really had fun cheering for the USA women's soccer in the family room on the big screen tv. Travelled only 5 min to the beautiful Burnt Cedar beach. It was nice to let the kids swim in the warm pools after playing at the beach and in the cold tahoe lake. Please be advised that the house is right next to the Mt. Rose Hwy and there is initially a lot of traffic noise. The house has a nice grassy area and the little ones are protected by trees and shrubbery that block the road. Know that we really enjoyed our time here and would definitely rent again! Thank You!

We loved your house and had a great time. So well equipped and so roomy and in such good condition. The table soccer was a big hit, as well as some of the DVD's. Our daughter is an artist and was admiring some of your mother's original paintings in the dining area. Her talent must have passed on to you with your creative work in the Tahoe upgrading. All the nice tile and granite work in the kitchen and bathrooms, and other touches. Thanks for the use of your house.

The place was absolutely fantastic. Very comfortable, and well stocked with the necessary appliances to host large meals. My wife was thrilled that you had the big cast iron skillet. We will be very interested in renting your home again in the future for a ski weekend. It had all the charm that a ski cabin should--we are tired of renting brand new homes that are bare and cold inside. Your den (the big screen TV room) was the perfect place to relax at night. The wood stove was a pleasant surprise. It provided fantastic heat. Thank you very much for making this such a stress-free weekend.

I wanted to email you to personally thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful house. It is one of the best places I have ever stayed at in Tahoe. The amenities were amazing and it was in a perfect location in respect to roads and to the ski resort.

I want to thank you for the use of your lovely home in Tahoe. Our family truly enjoyed our time there. The layout worked very well for our group and the kitchen was wonderful for preparing our meals. We were fortunate to have some great ski weather, so spent some time on the slopes as well. Your caretaker was very helpful, too. It was nice having him nearby when we had questions.
