  My wife and I are actually from indiana and grew up in valparaiso, but when we lived right on the beach in this amazing house, we felt like we were on vacation very far way. It is hard to describe everything but lets talk about the house. It is a very cool and hip place, three bedrooms, the living room is huge and the kitchen is awesome for cooking. The view from the kicthen looking at the lake is stunning and on clear days you can see chicago far off in the distance. We would watch the sunset from the awesome balcony everynight. Everything in the house is great and it is loaded with everything you need. I forgot to mention the beds are super comfortable. The beach is super nice and no crowds at all. I would be the only one running most of the time. You are also a couple minutes drive from the many miles of hiking in Indiana dunes or you can hike from the house toget to the trails. A lot people go to the beach(public side) when the weather is perefect, but if it does get windy or a cool front comes thru, you feel as you are in califorina as huge waves crash on the dunes.We would just drink coffee and watch the waves break. Also it is 5 minutes from the south shore train to chicago It is a very cozy place and we were just thrilled with it. The owners are super nice.

  Cute house close to lake MI near the IN dunes. Great view. Beach is close, down a flight of stairs. Look forward to returning!

  We had a very enjoyable time staying in this lake cottage over Labor Weekend. For our family of 5, it was nice staying in a house rather than a small hotel room. The house is on a hill overlooking the lake. The deck and view are awesome - on a clear day you can see downtown Chicago. It is a short walk to the beach which is very private. A parking space is provided right next to the beach for heavy loads or anyone having trouble going up and down the stairs. It is a short walk to the Indiana Dunes park. The kitchen has everything you need for meal preparation. The weather was bad on our last day so we went to the outlets only 15 minutes away. A train station is near by for a trip to Chicago. We did not have a chance to visit there - maybe next time.

  My friends and I celebrated a high school reunion here for a weekend and had a great time. Great location and access to the beach with a view that can't be beat. Very nice!

  Our families had a wonderful time at this adorable cottage. The beach is great for children and adults alike--beautiful, soft, white sand; the lake the perfect temperature--both refreshing and relaxing! Bruce was wonderful to work with and he and Michael were extremely responsive to all of my questions. Thanks for everything! I highly recommend this cottage.

  My family, children and grandchildren enjoyed a long week end and found the cottage very comfortable. Those with smaller chldren will appreciate that the lake is a very slow and gradual shallow walk to the deeper waters...more than 20 feet at least. The beach is indeed private and the larger sand dunes were lots of fun for the older children to walk to and play on. We were late in finding out that there is a parking space nearer the beach. If there are those with health problems the steps might prove to be a problem! Again, a wonderful week end in a lovley setting.

  We really enjoyed our stay. The beach is very close and the view is great. It's so peaceful and the cottage is clean and has everything you need. The owner is extremely responsive and wonderful to work with too!

  This place was amazing. Quiet, clean, well-equipped, and steps away from the beach (and i really mean steps- beautiful wood steps surrounded by trees and wildlife). We grilled on the deck, then hit the water, came back up to dry off- the deck's away from the beach enough so you can hide and relax, but close enough to make you run back down. And it was really close to the Dunes park too. We had an excellent time, and were back in Chicago within an hour.
