  Pete's Place was clean, very well decorated, and had plenty of activities and supplies for the kids. The location is a easy walk to the beach, and backs up to a nice pond with a fountain. Lots of beach toys for the kids and all the supplies we needed including baby monitor, booster chair, pack and play, and plenty of indoor toys and movies. The owners were very responsive and helpful. We will stay at Pete's again. Great destination for a easy, relaxing fun weekend with the kids.

  My family & friends recently stayed at Pete's Place & had a wonderful time! The house is so nice & just a short walk to the beach (which was VERY clean & not crowded). We especially liked having access to the pool at the Beach Club just down the street. The location is great if you want to be away from the seawall crowd but close enough to drive in if you want to do some shopping. We brought our own food & made good use of the kitchen. The owners were great & were quick to answer any questions we had. There were 5 teenagers with us & they all had a great time. We definitely want to come back to Pete's Place again next summer!

  We had a wonderful time - the house was very comfortable with lots of room to hang out. The down stairs was a great place to be and ideal for little ones to play. My hats off to the cute decore. It was very easy to feel right at home. Great place - also the beach was clean and fun.

  Just spent a week with family members 5 yrs to adult. Property is in top shape, open, clean and convenient. Great acces to the Gulf and pool swimming. Fishing offshore and in bay is fun. Many activities and shop- ping in Galveston. Try the Sunflower Bakery and Cafe for treats and high quality, local seafood. This property is a good value.

  We stayed at Pete's Place during Spring Break 2011. We had a fantastic time - and totally recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a great family getaway, in a comfy place with all the comforts of home (and then some!). The cottage is just beautiful, and stocked with great kitchen appliances and utensils (never before seen in any other condos we've stayed at), toys, movies, and beach gear. The flatscreen TVs and DVD players help keep the kids busy and happy on a rainy day or while you're cooking a fanstastic meal! The grounds are really nicely kept with a pond (and fountain) in the back yard, quiet streets perfect for bike riding, and the beach is only a short walk away. We even attempted to catch crabs in the pond out back - but no luck this time. We also loved the pools, lazy river, and hot tubs at the club - and there's so much more to do there that we didn't have time to try! Make sure you bring your groceries and beverages with you, because it's a bit of a hike to the closest grocery store. And, take a day or two to drive up to Galveston (about 30 min away) to enjoy the charm and history it has to offer. Next time we want to rent one of those bike-mobiles (not sure what they're called) that everyone is riding there - they look like a blast! Thanks to Robert and Cynthia for making everything so easy and comfortable. They were really helpful with their information, recommendations, and even guiding us through our errors in connecting to the Internet. They have built a wonderful cottage to share - so go have a blast!

  Great place to stay. The house was immaculate and loaded with things to use on the beach. The walk to the beach is about a block in a subdivision with no traffic. I don't know if this is always the case ... when we were there we had about 1/2 a mile or more of beach to ourselves. It was perfect with two little ones to chase around.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

  Thank you Robert for letting us spend our last few days before school started at your wonderful beach house. My family and I had a wonderful time. The kids especially enjoyed the beach and trying to catch fish and crabs in the pond behind the house. The beach is private and not crowded as some of the other beaches can be in Galveston. We spent most of our time at the beach building sand castles and playing in the water. The sunset from the beach was beautiful and one evening we even saw a double rainbow over the ocean. The entire house had a very welcoming feel to it and the beds were very comfortable. The owner was extremely accommodating and helpful. We can't wait to return again!! My husband said this was one of the best vacations that we have taken.

  My children and I had the pleasure of staying at Pete's Place this summer. We had a very relaxing time and all the comforts of home plus more. The cottage is very well furnished and nicely decorated. (Being a Maryland native, I was particularly fond of the crab decor!) The house was clean and comfortable throughout. My children enjoyed having their own bedrooms, each with its own flat-screen TV. The bed in the master bedroom was great - best sleep I've had all year! The balcony had a nice view of the pond and was a great place to sit and unwind with a good book. The patio on the ground floor was spacious and the outdoor closet contained many beach/pool toys for the kids. It's obvious that the owners spent time designing and planning the home to be a family vacation getaway. I appreciated the convenience of having a full-sized HE washer & dryer and WiFi as well as the small items (soap, coffee filters, Q-tips); the owners remember what you may forget to pack! As for the Pointe West community, the beach is a very short walk from the cottage. (My kids enjoyed finding shells and the hermit crabs which lived in them!) The Beach Club had a nice pool, hot tub, game room, and on-site restaurant/bar as well as a gift shop. Many guests chose to grill on the pool deck. Smores were offered at night on the weekend. The bayside pool is a bit further away but it is less busy and not as deep - better for smaller children; there's also a lazy river with tubes as well as a hot tub & grill. Pete's Place definitely has a lot to offer, both in comfort and location. The owners are pleasant to work with as well; they provided a lot of information upfront and quickly answered all of my questions. My family thoroughly enjoyed our vacation time here!! We hope to return again soon!

  Robert: Thank you for helping to make last week so much fun for us and our friends. You have really thought of everything and have done a wonderful job decorating and outfitting Pete’s Place. It is a wonderful home in a great location. It is perfect for anyone, but particularly good for families with kids. I cannot wait to return.   Our stay here was so much more than a getaway. It was our home away from home! For mom & dad, it was a gorgeous retreat with high end-high quality coastal decor. We had giant TV's and DVD's in every room -even an ipod docks and movies! This one-story wonder had the cushiest beds we've ever slept in- all memory foam. You have really put a lot of thought into every detail - my kind of girl! Our toddler and infant had EVERYTHING they needed - children's bunk room with games, blocks, chalk board...even the downstairs closet had a wagon, pool and beach toys. I cannot say enough about "Pete's Place". I can tell you have a toddler because all the outlets were covered and cords removed from sight. You even had extra nightlights besides the ones already out. - Just what I use at home! My toddler had many firsts here - first fishing with dad, first bunk bed, first hammock, even a first friendly crab. The amenities at Pointe West were perfect for us - small lazy river, large pool, hot tub, spa, workout room, and such nice and easy access to the combed beach. The neighborhood was so clean and well kept - Just read the other reviews! Thank you for making our trip planning easy, and for the wonderful, carefree time we were able to spend with our family. We will definitely be coming back to this gem!
