Relax to the sound of the river flowing by the rustic gazebo. This home was completed in 2007 with granite countertops, stained glass accents, hardwood floors, 22 foot vaulted aspen ceilings and is situated on seven town lots. Lake City is truly a mountain paradise!
The kitchen is fully equipped including a warming drawer. The new gas grill is just outside the double glass doors leading from the kitchen to the deck. The intimate dining room will seat 6 - 8 people with additional seating for two at the granite-topped island.
The master suite king bedroom has double glass doors leading to a deck overlooking the river. The private bath has double sinks with a tub/shower with glass door. The art glass window provides a wonderful mountain breeze.
The upstairs bedroom with full bed and private balcony affords magnificent views of the river and canyon. The second upstairs bedroom has a queen bed with views of the town. Between the two bedrooms is a spacious shared bath with doors from each bedroom. Each bedroom has a large walk-in closet as well. The large bath has double pedestal sinks separated by a granite top vanity. The tub/shower combination with glass doors and toilet are in a separate room. These bedrooms both lead to the large open loft with a catwalk leading to a small library for your use. The beds have heated mattress pads, and there is central heat for your comfort as well.
There is ample parking for multiple vehicles including an RV area with 30 amp service and a carport. A lockable 180 sq foot storage room off the carport gives you ample space to safely store bicycles, coolers, and sporting gear out of the weather.
The upstairs loft with skylights and mountain-view windows, has a 1950's game table that can make a rainy day enjoyable with Monopoly, puzzles, cards, UNO, Phase 10, and Skipbo. This is a great getaway area to spend undisturbed time on a puzzle or enjoy a book in the comfortable chair with your feet up on the ottoman. The new 46" Sony Bravia LCD television in the great room has a PlayStation 3 that plays both traditional CD and Blue Ray discs (bring your own controllers for hours of fun!).
The laundry room is equipped with washer, dryer, ironing board, iron and clothes rack. Laundry detergent is also supplied.
Situated in the historic district, you are within a few blocks of the downtown area, post office, multiple eating establishments, churches, town parks, coffee shops, post office, fly fishing shop, quaint shops, visitors' center, movie theater, and new state-of-the-art medical center. So relaxing just to keep your car parked and watch the fawns frolic through town.
The town of Creede (outstanding theater in the summer, restaurants, shopping art galleries, excellent fly fishing & guides) is about an hour to the south, and the larger ski-towns of Gunnison (1 hour north) and Crested Butte (1 1/2 hours north) are fun day trips with river rafting (check out Taylor River in Gunnison), restaurants (Garlic Mike's in Gunnison), and many speciality shops. The coffee bistro and Colorado-style Mexican food at Donita's in Crested Butte are family favorites. All three of these small towns--Gunnsion, Creede, and Crested Butte are easy day trips from Lake City. For those wanting a national park experience, a day hike through the Black Canyon of the Gunnison is guaranteed not to disappoint.
You'll be sure to thoroughly enjoy your stay in this picturesque mountain town which is truly a step back in time.

The Unique Benefits at this CabinEnjoy fly fishing along the riverfront or taking a 5-minute walk to one of the local coffee shops for an afternoon mocha. And the old fashioned ice cream parlor has the best ice cream, milk shakes, and banana splits in Colorado. An early morning hike to the base of Uncompahgre Peak (fourteener), fly fishing lessons, and hikes to the waterfalls of Cataract Gulch (past Lake San Cristobal) are our favorite memories.

Myself, along with my wife and a few friends rented the home for three nights in January. The rental process was great...we dealt directly with the owners and we had access to in town caretakers. The home is stunning. The photos do not do the property justice...really great home, with great service. Quite honestly, we were blown away. We would absolutely rent this house again.

Just spent 9 delightful days in beautiful Lake City in one of the nicest "cabins" I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. Everything was so well thought out...wonderful amenities, well supplied and conveniently located! The views from the various windows....wonderful, especially after the snow made the landscape a winter wonderland. Completely enjoyable!!!! Cathy
Owner response:We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay. The very thing that attracted us to this cabin was its close proximity to town (and the river!). We enjoy walking to dinner, to the park, to get ice cream, and all along the beautiful walking trails through town. The new linens and towels have been a big hit as well. Thanks for your good feedback!

We had a wonderful stay. The house is fantastic, beautiful furnishings, very clean. Within walking distance of everything in town.
Owner response:Mid to late September is one of our favorite times to visit Lake City. The golden aspens are absolutely glorious then. Our favorite drive is up Henson Creek toward Capitol City (about 30 minutes one way). Be sure to take a good camera!

My family and I loved staying at the riverfront cabin. The cabin and surrounding property are stunning - it feels very secluded, and yet is just a short walk to town. I loved the view of Roundtop from my bedroom window. Thank you.

The house was very nice and had everything provided that we needed. It was very clean and well kept. We enjoyed Lake City and hope to come back. The house is close enough to walk to most of the attractions in town. I did not realize how handy having a washer and dryer would be!

Our trip to Lake City was restful, relaxing, and refreshing. The cabin was clean, well stocked, and the photos do not do it justice - it's beautiful and located within walking distance from every eating establishment and shop in the town. The manager met us on time, answered all our questions, and called during the week to assure our needs were met. The town itself was delightful, filled with friendly people eager to share a story of local folklore, help with directions, or simply leave us alone to enjoy its charm. The trails around the county were truly beautiful and we wish we could have hiked more of them. We can't say enough about the trip and what a blessing it was to able to spend a week there - we will definately be back and book this cabin specifically!! Thank you to the owners and the local manager for your hospitality.

This was our first time in Lake City and staying in this cabin was the perfect place. The cabin is beautifully decorated and had all of the conveniences of home. The layout of the cabin is a open design creating a relaxing atmosphere. The multiple decks were perfect for morning breakfast and afternoon reading. Being located on the river and surrounded by mountains the views were amazing. It is within walking distance to the eating establishments and shopping but still affords privacy. We enjoyed walking the trails close by and having our coffee every morning by the river. This is truly a place to visit and stay for a memorable vacation. We hope this cabin will be available upon our return to Lake City.
