  • Beautiful getaway!

"We loved our stay here. It is beautiful, spacious, and inviting. There is no shortage of beds in the house. The living room is large enough space to accommodate several people at once. The furnishings are well kept and clean. Our favorite place to hang out was the back patio. You can see and hear the creek below and see beautiful views from here."

  • Perfect retreat cabin

"Tani's cabin was perfect for us. We appreciated the historic building, cooked meals together inside in the kitchen, and hung out around the fireplace in the living room. It was the perfect size and location for us and our friends (another couple). We hiked one of the trails at the end of the road, and enjoyed the fall leaves. The only thing I was curious about when booking and before our stay was the proximity of pinewater to other cabins- if this is your concern, don't worry! It feels very remote, and you almost don't even know there are other people around! Thank you Tani for keeping this cabin in such great shape and sharing it with us!"

  • Great Experience!

"My wife and I came up for a week of hiking and running in the Pikes Peak region. We have stayed at many places, but we both agree that we enjoyed this stay at the Carriage House better than any and it is now one of our favorite places. We hope to come again. Mr. and Ms. Buckley made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. It was extremely peaceful and the view from the balcony of Pikes Peak, the Catamount area, and the Buckley ranch were second to none. I spent a great deal of my early mornings and late evenings on the balcony. We highly recommend this wonderful place, especially to couples who want to get away for a while. SS"

  • Wonderful home

"My family of 6 rented the Dusty Rose for our week long stay in Cripple Creek, Co. The home was perfect for our needs. Centrally located to area sight seeing opportunities, near to downtown, but not so close to be bothersome and excellent amenities! The owners were very accommodating as well. We had two vehicles, one of which was a truck camper and 2 trailers. We asked in advance and the owners were fine with us parking all of them on the property. The home was supplied with linens and towels as well as dishes and pots n pans. Having access to a washer and dryer was a huge plus! The hot tub was well kept, clean and the perfect temperature! We were in the hot tub within 30 minutes of our arrival. There is a guest book in the home that was fun to read and to add to. By reviewing the guest book, we obtained some good ideas for places to dine. At one point, we locked ourselves out of the house and the neighbors - who are also the care takers - were kind enough to let us in. Our stay at the Dusty Rose was our first vacation rental, but will not be our last! The price and convenience of a vacation rental is so much better than staying at a hotel. Having access to a kitchen ensures that a wonderful vacation will not be a budget buster! The entire process, from booking to check out - including a myriad of questions from me (I'm a bit of a control freak) was easy and smooth. Lauren answered all of my questions and never once seemed bothered. I cannot recommend this home - or owners - enough!"
