6, 12, 24 MONTH OPPORTUNITY TO LIVE INOUR HOME: Our property isn't a vacation rental--it's our full-time home! As such, it offers a lot more than what you usually find elsewhere. Nothing on the property was purchased with the thought that 'this will be good enough for our renters.' Everything in our home was hand chosen to make our lives richer. Here's our story: The summer of 2010 was the first time we offered our newly-renovated house as a rental, and we sailed to Maine. All went well and we're hoping to rent it out for 12 - 24 months starting the fall of 2013. We live and work from our home and love the location! We're walking distance to the train (to NYC), fabulous shopping, restaurants and free live concerts in the summer. It's great here, but sailing is our passion and we're planning to be live-aboards/work-aboards, venturing as far south as the Bahamas. We hope our wunderlust will provide a unique opportunity for another family to live in our home for an extended period of time.

Just want to express our absolute delight for having the opportunity to spend some time at your lovely home in Westport. What a piece of "Zen" paradise you have created on the Saugatuck River. Waking up to the sound of birds, rustling leaves on those magnificent trees, the gentle churning of the river. Sitting by the water and the outdoor fireplace at sunset is a real treat. The kayaks were an absolute blast. The bedrooms upstairs feel like we were living in a luxurious "tree house". The balconies with river views. The master bathroom with that incredible two person cast iron soaking tub feels like a "spa". And the "light" throughout the house, ever changing and always magical. We loved cooking up a storm in your "pro" kitchen. The Wolf stove is the best we have ever used. We found Westport to be a wonderful, sophisticated town. And we were so close to everything. Great shopping, restaurants, major roads and the train. Zipping to NYC is a breeze. We are looking forward to spending more time in the future at your comfortable and elegant home. Thanks for sharing your lovely home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

A relaxing summer in Westport

This was a fantastic country home for our Manhattan family. Even though it is less than an hour away, Westport seemed a world away. We spent our time in the shade of expansive trees, enjoying refreshing river breezes and dips in the pool which looks onto the river. The landscaped property was well maintained and the gardens flowered continuously. The gardens were a haven for our young son. River birds and boats gave us beautiful views. The house and grounds lend themselves to entertaining. A large kitchen equipped for a chef, a comfortably elegant dining room and a large outdoor patio & lawns make both casual and formal get-togethers easy. The location was perfect: close to the train and the center of Westport, on a private dead-end street with lovely neighbors, secluded with mature hedges and tall trees. The owners were very accommodating and always quick to answer questions or provide assistance. It was a truly lovely summer experience.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We were so glad to have found this house; we needed a house to accomodate our family of 5 plus grandparents for the summer and it was perfect. The place was clean and well-kept with a well appointed kitchen and gorgeous wood floors. The place worked extremelly well for our family and we would definitely return if we returned to the USA. The landlords were also very helpful and easy to reach with any questions, etc Thumbs up!Recommended for: Families with young children.

Our family rented their lovely, renovated Westport home for the summer of 2010. It was a dream summer with a clean house, state of the art appliances, friendly neighbors, and wonderful accommodations. The owners were wonderful, and gracious landlords in every sense. The pool and grounds were kept up weekly, and Kathy was always available if I had any questions regarding the house, or town itself. Not only was the house fabulous, the town of Westport offered many amenities we loved. The beach, golfing privileges, easy access to trains and restaurants were the complete summer package. Indeed, we are entertaining the idea to rent again this year after the birth of our 2nd child.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/2

We traveled back to Westport to attend a wedding with our grown sons and their spouses. The owners, Kathy and Julien could not have been more helpful. The house was beautiful and we felt right at home. This property is for the discriminating renter and the home is more beautiful than the pictures. The train station is within a mile and we made a few day/evening trips to Manhattan. VERY convienent. The town of Westport is charming and there are many great restaurants in the area. The home is situated on the river with a canoe and kayak for added fun. We enjoyed both and even did some fishing. We could not have picked a better place to stay in Westport and will definitely contact Kathy and Julien when we return to the area.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Living on the water with a private dock makes kayaking and canoeing an easy treat. Paddle to dinner at one of several excellent riverside restaurants, or catch one of the many free concerts at Levitt Pavilion. Towering pines, cool river breezes, a heated pool, and fine fishing from the edge of the property makes our home feel like summer camp. Experience sunset as the evening cools sitting by the pool or the river's edge with a fire burning in one of the two outdoor fire places. Relax!
