Bodrum villa description

At the highest level of the cliff, like a sumptuous eagle s nest, there is a five-bedroom mansion with the most majestic views and all the conceivable amenities. This imposing five-bedroom/four-bathroom stone holiday-house has a spacious interior and many levels of patios and terraces, but still feels intimate and livable. The stone stairs lead to the entrance foyer with floor-to-ceiling windows and comfortable furniture for lounging with a coffee or a cocktail. Just inside the foyer, a regal suite, with a fireplace in the living area, an adjoining oversize bedroom and French doors out to the patio and swimming-pool deck. The suite has a king-size bathroom with large tub, separate shower stall and dressing room with generous closets. There are two additional bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms on this floor, offering comfort and privacy from the other occupants of the house, but with easy access to the common areas. Upstairs another foyer leads to a two-bedroom flat with its own full-bathroom on one side, while off to the other there is grand living-room with a fireplace, high ceiling. open kitchen, ten-person dining table and artful decor, seemingly out of a French pre-revolutionary chateaux. This a salon in which to entertain in style, or enjoy a celebratory extended-family dinner. The most glorious aspects of this extravagant house are its unhindered surround-views of both mountains and seaside that seem to bring the outdoors inside the house, and wide open when on the multi-leveled courtyards, patios and swimming deck. This is a holiday home where dreams are born and become realities in the sweetest possible manner. Yours to discover and enjoy and experience over and over again.

Yarbasan Clifftop Mansion was chosen as a recent family reunion destination spot…..which proved to be our family’s TURKISH DELIGHT. We were met at Bodrum Airport after a 1 ½ hour flight from Istanbul by a driver with the longest VW van….we were 11 with 25 pieces of luggage…off for our Turkish adventure. Perched atop the hills overlooking the seaside town of Bodrum with the blue Aegean Sea and the hint of Greece on the horizon, sits a perfect complex of newly built villas. Each an example of historic Turkish architectural style nestled into a cobble stoned drive. The Mansion proved to be perfect for all our family, five bedrooms and four baths, a huge living room dining room kitchen area, several seating areas and balconies overlooking the garden and pool. Upon our arrival we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff to relax at the villa center - a restaurant- lounge-concierge service headquarters and partake in a delicious array of locally grown produce prepared to perfection, both cold & hot dishes. They willing made freshly sliced French fries for the youngest in the family, 3 year old grandson. The staff catered to all our needs…….preparing meals, household chores, laundry, transportation, wi-fi hook up, conversation, and booking a leisurely sailing around the bays of Bodrum. One morning while some of our family shopped the multitude of Bodrum boutiques, others joined Asli on a shopping trip to the local Friday produce market choosing items which we later prepared in the kitchen of one of the Yarbasan villas and served to the rest of the family. Waking each morning to the sounds of the local roosters, the call to prayers, the comfort of the stoned wall villa in the village atmosphere and the lure of the Aegean Sea, knowing that all our needs would be taken care of while on family vacation was truly a welcomed TURKISH DELIGHT …..your family would love the experience.

We had a truly wonderful and memorable time at the Cliff Top Mansion. The pictures don't do the house justice. The house itself was impeccably furnished - combining both modern and traditional turkish elements. The way the house was designed - was great to accomodate multiple families. Almost each was enclosed in a private suite with its own bathroom. The pool was fantastic and we spent a lot of time in it. The staff always available and willing to answer questions or help with any details - related or unrelated to the house. The Yarbasan complex itself was just a piece of art in and by itself and a joy to walk around in and explore. Every house in this complex had a different design - with all the details well thought-out. You could tell that someone had put their heart and soul into designing this complex. The restaurant on-site was great. Besides serving delicious turkish food with a twist - it was a fantastic place to visit for a late night drink. Beautiful place. Exceeded my expecations...

We stayed in Cliff Top Mansion at Yarbasan Evleri on a weekend with a group of old friends in a villa with a lovely garden, view and a pool. We had a large saloon, five rooms with bathrooms and a large kitchen. They were all elegantly furnished, clean and very comfortable. The house environment made us enjoy ourselves more both in the morning and in the evenings. Though we had our breakfast and dinner in Erenler Sofras? which is run by Ms.Asl? Mutlu. She was great! Both the breakfast and dinner were perfect. For the gourmet travellers, I would definitely say "Don't miss Asl?'s kitchen if you are in Bodrum". She is an expert on different tastes, especially her meze's were delicious. The people running this place are friendly and sophisticated which is reflected to their work. The place has a gusto. I recommend it to a romantic couple, a group (perfect place to go) and a family- even a large one because the facilities they offer are diverse, fitting both to leisure, fun and relaxation purposes. I would definitely go to the place again.

This is a place where an excellent replica of a traditional Bodrum setting with its houses, streets, village square and flora have been constructed on the side of a hill overlooking a wonderful green plain and the Mediterranean beyond it. Each of the 20 and some houses has a different traditional design. The details on the facades, in the gardens and inside the houses are all well-thought, delicately designed, and beautifully made. At Clif Top Mansion is the peace and silence of the place is another outstanding feature. All one can hear is the sound of the wind, the crow and cackle of the poultry at the distance, and the buzzing of an occcasional bumble bee. If one prefers to eat meals at the place, this means one has made the wise decision. Do not leave without tasting the beautiful mezza dishes made in the kitchen, and of course try also the local wine or raki with them. Last but not least, the comfort and cleanliness of the houses is more than one can imagine. Yes, this is a place created with a magic touch.

Away from the hubbub of Bodrum and located on a hill overlooking the sea, Yarbasan Holiday Homes offers amazing value for money. My husband and in-laws stayed here for several nights in our own private home, with an enormous kitchen, a stylish living room, TV den, and garden with swimming pool. Asli Mutlu, the owner of the on-site restaurant, makes delicious Turkish home-cooking with an international twist and teaches cooking classes in her kitchen looking out onto the Aegean Sea. Some might see it as a drawback to be away from the heart of Bodrum, but I was content to be away from the nightclub scene! The beach is a 10 minute walk away.

                          Year Purchased: 2010

About: I am a retired Executive, now running the Restaurant in the same location as this Villa. My husband and I both went to school in the U.S and lived most of our lives in Istanbul and relocated to Bodrum four years ago.

                          Why Bodrum:
We fell in love with the Village Yarbasan Stone Houses in the first place. The reality of the Yarbasan Stone House Estates, in Ortakent village on the Bodrum Peninsula in southwest Turkey, is that it is a very modern and entirely new take on the disappearing vernacular architecture of Bodrum. It is the result of a passion that became a dream of a group of architects, to create a village of stone houses that would connect modern life to earlier times. By dint of gaining investors who believed and trusted in the team of architects, the project started five years ago. To make the connection to the past a true one, replicating the traditional architecture was not enough; they also wanted to find and use craftsmen who would use traditional methods on the traditional materials. They found stonemasons, carpenters and wooden carvers, mosaic layers, tile makers and ironsmith and regional sources of stone and wood. We wanted to be a part of it.

The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
While enjoying the benefits of being in Bodrum, sometimes described as the St.Tropez of Turkey, you can still enjoy the peacefull envoirenment. In the village there is a fine dine restaurant where you can enjoy both breakfast and dinners if you do not wish to cook at home. There is house keeping and linen service available within the rental price. There also is a shuttle that operates from the village to the beach upon request and free of charge. Day trips to the Island of Kos, or to Ephesus, Miletus, Pedesa etc is very easy and can be arranged by our friendly staff at the restaurant and we are always on site to help you.
