Nice Visit!

We shared this home with our friends from California. It was a great place to call "home" while we visited Annapolis, Baltimore, and Washington DC. Our kids (all 5 of them) especially enjoyed fishing from the dock. We found the local tourguide information available in the home very useful. The reservation and check-in processes were simple to use and the owner was very responsive to questions we asked prior to our stay.
Owner response:It was a pleasure having you. I'm glad you found the check-in process easy-to-use, and I was happy to answer your questions along the way. Please keep us in mind for future visits to the area. As you discovered, it is a great "central location" for all of the wonderful destinations this area has to offer. Lynn

The house worked perfectly for our weekend visit for niece's wedding. It felt secluded, but was close to everything we needed. Wish we had more time. If we return to Annapolis, will definitely check availibility here first.

Rented this place as a home base for showing some old college friends what Maryland, my home state, is all about. The house fit four people with room to spare. We enjoyed chicken necking for crabs and swimming/tube lounging from the private dock. Had a nice dinner at Mike's one night and stayed for the Karaoke at the bar afterwards. Downtown Annapolis is close by car and it is manageable by boat but takes a while. The owner was a pleasure to deal and the house lacked for nothing.Overall a wonderful experience and I hope to be back again! Thanks.

This lovely cottage is wonderfully restful, tastefully decorated and very convenient to Annapolis and the Naval Academy. We were up for a weekend visiting our midshipman son and could get to the Yard in about ten minutes! Avoid the crowds and hotel rooms and select this great home for a stay! You'll also find restaurants and shopping close by. Thank you for a relaxing stay! Tammy Reno

Perfect for a family gathering. House is well-equipped so don't buy lots until you check-in. Make good use of the beautiful deck and the tiers below. Also walk the unique neighborhood and do "MIKE'S" for a special lunch or dinner. But beware of the problem we encoutered. The house next door is under construction. Your weekends will be tranquil. However, come Monday morning, the brilliant sunrise accompanied by sweet chirping birds will be abruptly surpassed at 7am by the harsh and annoying sounds of hammers, drills, and the like. Ask about the nearby construction before renting or else plan to bring ear plugs! Minus this...it's paradise!
Owner response:Thanks for your feedback. Sorry about the construction noise. Our neighbors were quite behind on their renovation schedule, and their anticipated completion date of March 2008 shifted into the summer months. All will be quite again when renovations are completed this month.

WOW! What a clean and big home this turned out to be. Our family of 6 fit in very comfortably, as well as did Aunt Esther one night! We LOVED the deck overlooking the river and found the home extremely convenient to Annapolis and DC. We lacked for nothing.

My husband, two kids and I usually stay in a suite at the Ritz Carlton - Pentagon City during my bi-annual visit home (I'm originally from the area). But never again! This lovely home was perfect. I especially appreciated the large master suite which had a queen bed, single bed and sofa. My 4-year old did not have to worry about sleeping alone during vacation. The views were stunning. The house was well appointed, with great light, great kitchen, and open flow. The location was perfect for my visiting relatives in North and South Anne Arundel County, as well as those in D.C. and Prince Georges County. The park across the street was perfect for my kids to play with their many local cousins. The transaction with the owner was smooth, comfortable and friendly. Highlights: kids pulling up crabs from the pier; family party at Mike's Crab House on our last night; sunrises; "authentic" local neighbors - (refreshingly provided a stark contrast from Southern California :); watching my elderly father and aunts enjoy the river from the deck. Thank you for your aloha!

I found this great house by searching the web. My husband and I stayed here for one week in July 2005 then came back for another week in July 2006. We really enjoy the quiet little neighborhood and strolling around in the evenings looking at the cute cottages. Of course, the view is fantastic, and you really get a sense that you are "away from it all." Yet, a quick car ride takes you to the heart of Annapolis (which has always been my favorite small city). There's always something happening in the harbor area, where you can "boat watching," dine and shop. I've got to have the hot crab dip at O'Brien's every time I'm in town and visit the Annapolis Marine Art Gallery to see what's new. I love walking through the state capitol and up and down the residential streets (especially picturesque at night). And is there anything more beautiful than the campus of United States Naval Academy. It's an American treasure that everyone must see. If you have a boat, the rental home has a private pier and boat lift, and the whole Chesapeake Bay is at your doorstep. Explore some of the many little branches off the South River, drop an anchor and a crab line. Check out the exquisite real estate along the river and head out to the bay to take a trip up to Annapolis or a lap around the Thomas Point Lighthouse. Back at the home, relax with your morning cup of coffee overlooking the water or read a good book on the pier. Be sure to walk over to Mike's and crack some steamed crabs or enjoy a crabcake sandwich on the deck. I think you will enjoy this home as much as we do. It's a quality vacation getaway.
