We are one of three families who just stayed for Memorial Day weekend at the Dome house in Joshua Tree. We had a wonderful visit. The house is perfectly outfitted for a multi-family vacation. There is a lot of room for everyone to have their own space and privacy. The kids loved playing endlessly in the great indoor pool. The parents made delicious meals in the well appointed kitchen and relaxed at the end of each day in the outdoor jacuzzi. The house was very clean and well maintained and had everything we could possibly need for a wonderful vacation. The location is perfectly situated near one of the Park's entrances but we felt like we were far away from the hustle and bustle of our city life. The house is lovely and it's in a beautiful and relaxing setting. We loved the Dome House and hope to return there in the future! I would absolutely recommend a stay there!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

What a gem this place is! Tons of comfortable living/sleeping space, indoor pool/sauna are ideal and the jacuzzi under the stars hits the spot. The property is spacious, magical and immaculate, removed from any neighboring properties and nestled against the mountain range. Will definitely come back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

The Dome house really fit our needs and I have already made reservation to return for the following year. Our group include a couple children and also a dog. Keith was great following up on my questions leading up to our stay. The house is well maintained and the kitchen is well equipped, which is important to us as we prepared the traditional Thanksgiving Dinner. The house had ample room for our group and the whole flow of the place was really nice. The architecture of the dome allows for many exterior areas of privacy which is a big plus when having a larger groups. Also there are great views from so many different vantage points inside and out. The only downside/suggestion I have pertains to the master bedroom. The room itself is great, very roomy, however the room is open to the main floor of the house (although there are wood shutters). This allows noise from below and it would be nice to enclose the room (either a wall or plexiglass if you want to allow the natural light). I think this would really add to the pleasures of the stay. Defintely recommend this place, nothing quite like it in J T - this place is really cool!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We stayed at the dome in Joshua Tree for my birthday weekend, and it was simply excellent. It's the perfect place for a group (friends, family, etc.) because there's so much space, including multiple bedrooms, a large rec area, beautiful 360 degree deck, huge backyard, and spacious kitchen and dining areas. The house was clean, comfortable and very well maintained, including fully stocked kitchen utensils, cooking gear, and plenty of bedding. We enjoyed stargazing from the deck and spent a lot of time in both the outdoor and indoor hot tubs. The pool was a bit chilly given our stay was in October, but not too cold to prevent us from taking an occasional dip. It's only a 10-15 minute drive to the park and short drive into town, so very convenient on all fronts. Absolutely enjoyable and recommended!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

What a fabulous house! It truly is as magnificent as the photos suggest. We were in Joshua Tree for our daughter's wedding and we could not have chosen a more wonderful home for this very special family time. The house is very well maintained and well equipped, providing books for our little grandchildren as well as any kitchen item anyone could possibly need. The views from the deck are just spectacular, particularly under the incredible star-filled night sky, and the outdoor space is fantastic. The pool is even better than the photo suggests, though without additional heating the water is very cold. This is a very spacious and unique home, with so many terrific features, and it was a completely wonderful experience staying there. The owner was extremely friendly, helpful and very quick to answer any of our questions. Very highly recommended!!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

I will start with the positive. We like to visit national parks, and one of the reasons I choose Joshua Tree was this house looked so nice and reasonably priced. The house is about 5 miles from the national park entrance. The house is well maintained, and the kitchen is unusually well stocked for a rental. And even though the rent increased between the time I first looked at the house and now, the owner agreed to rent it for the old rate, which was very generous. The house is nice with plenty of room for our 3 generations to spread out. 2 of us were under age 3, and enjoyed being able to stand on the 'bench' in the indoor whirlpool, as they weren't ready for the pool. The outdoor whirlpool is wonderful, especially at night. Since it's so dark, you can really see the stars. The not-so-positive...It says in the house if you use more than the alloted amount (which turns out to be 25 gallons) of propane to heat the pool, there will be an extra charge. We were there during one of the warmest Marchs on record (in Chicago), but it was snowing in Joshua Tree when we arrived. The pool was icey, and it took us 3 days to figure out how to get the heating to go on in it, despite the caretaker coming out (green light means off, and red light means on-just the opposite you would expect). So, it was heated only for 4 of the days we were there. We used 125 gallons of propane, and paid almost the entire security deposit extra! So, if you're there during fairly cold/cool weather, and you want the water to be comfortable for swimming, expect to pay a lot to heat the pool! We were warned, but I had no idea it would be that much. There is no heating in the bedroom off the pool, and I presume no air-conditioning, so that room was icey at night, since my daughter preferred to have the door shut for privacy. The wall which separates the 2 story living room and the upstairs master bedroom has shutters, and when someone is talking in the living room, it sounds like they are in the bedroom. Not so good for wannabe late sleepers. There are no window shades in the master bedroom or loft bedroom, so again, if you like to sleep late, you need to be able to tolerate the light or do something about it. It took a little while to get used to the area- it looks nothing like I've ever seen before. But, by the time we left, I'd found it had really grown on me. And, all in all, the house was a nice base from which to become more acquainted with a very unusual corner of the US.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing.
