We had a beautiful stay at the Dolomite. We frequented at the piano bar at the St. Regis hotel next door for an after ski drink, and also stayed at the great Spa there. The location of the home is as central as you can get to the Gondola and shops. We skied from the slope right into the house. We were four couples and a child and it worked out perfectly.Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Comfortable and Luxurious Home in the Perfect Location! I had a very pleasant stay here. I love the excitement of waking up in the mornings and strolling over to Ajax Mountain in just minutes! This beautiful, luxurious home has every imaginable amenity(fireplace, piano, steam shower, and much more). The family room and kitchen area have the most spectacular view of Ajax Mountain! We enjoy watching the immaculate mountains in the mornings. Each bedroom has its own unique, tasteful style and elegance. It was hard to decide which bedroom we wanted to stay in! They are all so lovely and inviting. Also, the bedrooms are well equipped with tvs, internet access, and feel spacious and comfortable. The beds are so cozy and the sheets and bedding are clean and soft. Aspen is a great place for skiing and it’s a great town to explore! I love the adventure and excitement of skiing on the Ajax slopes. I equally enjoy exploring the town. It was so nice to be only minutes away walking distance from down town. There are some luxurious shops and spectacular restaurants in this breathtaking setting. If you ever find yourself in Aspen, you have got to check out this home! If you are looking for comfort, beauty, peace, luxury, and ideal location then this is the place to stay. I can't wait to go back this year!Did you find this review helpful? "Great location and lots of space" I was one member of two families who stayed at this property for two weeks during the 2009 Christmas season. We found the location fabulous with short walks to Aspen town, the main bus centre and the Ajax mountain Gondola. The property comfortably sleeps 10 and it is surprising how much room there is for everybody. The facilities are very good and we found the place homely and conducive to good conversation. I thoroughly recommend it. Guest from AustraliaDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

"Fabulous Home with plenty of room for large family vacation!!!" We shared this home with another family and had plenty of room. The bedrooms are large with great views. The family room and kitchen are great for large gatherings. It is 5 minutes from Crested Butte and 10 minutes from the mountain. Even though snow was dumped on us, the driveway and roads were maintained. This was not our first time to stay at Shangri-La and we will definitely be back. I highly recommend this home.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/1

I had an unforgettable stay here. This was my most memorable and enjoyable trip to Aspen! We had a very comforting feeling when we arrived at the home. The living room has amazing views of Aspen mountain and there is a lot of natural sunlight coming through the skylight windows. The house is located very centrally, everything is in close proximity. The main Aspen ski lift is just a 4 minute walk away, and all the shops and restaurants are about a 5 minutes walk. One of the bathrooms downstairs has a steam shower! What a way to relax after skiing :-)! The living room also has a very nice piano. What more could you ask for? The kitchen has all the appliances that you need to cook just about anything! We had all the cookware we needed to serve a party of 10! Everything was in great condition. This place is more than just a place to rent for a ski vacation. It truly has all the qualities of a very comfy home. We were delighted to see that all of the bedrooms and the living room had televisions connected to cable, and free high speed internet. We love watching a movie at the end of a long ski day! I recommend you try this place out and see for yourself what an enjoyable stay you will have!Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Dear Arne and Lise, May I take the liberty of sharing with you a report of our sublime visit to Crested Butte this fall in 2009 to hike and experience the aspens in all their glory. Even in the dark it was quite easy to find the house. We drove through the second largest aspen grove in the world to reach Crested Butte over Kebbler Pass. We feared that the old mining town would be jammed with visitors. To our surprise we met mostly locals. Crested Butte and your home at the height of the leaves turning has to be one the best kept secrets in the world. There were only two of us, and we had worried that the house might just be too much for us. However, the floor plan is brilliant, as the public areas and master suite are on the first floor. We toured the variety of large bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs, and because the second floor is accessed via a broad stair case, we never felt like we were tucked into some corner of such a large home. The floor plan flows so seamlessly on the first floor, and makes you feel like you are in your own intimate world. However, the home would work so well for even 8-10 people, using the elaborate “tree house” upstairs. The soaring ceilings in the living room, which faces back towards the mining town, creates an amazing volume of space. Everything ties together so nicely. The kitchen is wonderfully stocked. Nothing was lacking. Upon returning from dinner on Friday night, we went straight to the outdoor spa. The weather had cleared, and the sky was ablaze with stars. With no light pollution, the skies out here in the West seem so much brighter. We could recognize so many constellations. The temperature in the spa was perfect. We were surprised and delighted to learn of the Harvest Festival that was held in Crested Butte that Saturday evening. It was like an early Halloween, as locals were decked out in costumes. There was an early evening parade through the streets with bands performing on Elk Avenue. The old mining town was alive with a celebratory air. The restaurants were filled with masqueraders, which added such an element of fun to theevening. Families were everywhere from up and down the valley lining the streets to witness the fun time. Though we had made a plan to take another hike on Sunday morning, we fell prey to the ambience, panache and cushiness of your wondrous log dwelling and slept in, enjoying the log bed imDid you find this review helpful? About the owner: Lise and I are both from Norway, and after having built up a shipping company in New York we retired to Bermuda. After a few years we developed island fever and realized how much we missed the mountains. We considered the options of Norway, the Alps or the Rocky Mountains. I Ching pointed us to the Rockies and this is how we ended up in fabulous Aspen.
Why the Owner Chose Aspen Townhouses:
