Set in the cherry orchards and olive groves of Provence, just six miles from Gordes, La Coquiere is a great vacation retreat in a calm setting.

- High up, so no mosquitoes, and cooler temperatures at night. There is air conditioning in the master bedroom.
- Four acres of garden and woods, featuring olive trees, santolina, irises, roses, lavender, rosemary.
- Open living room and dining room for a feeling of spaciousness.
- Extremely well equipped kitchen because the house is lived in by the owner some of the year.
- Different areas to eat outside, depending on the time of day.
- Baby grand piano in case you want to express yourself.
- The lovely village of Murs, 1km (1000 yards) away - officially one of the 'Most Beautiful Villages in France' - so you can get your baguette in the morning.
- Plenty of parking behind the house.
- The owner is English and lives close by in case of any difficulties or language problems.

If you don't know Provence, the Luberon is generally considered the most beautiful region. This is where you find the medieval hill-top villages, the lavender landscapes, daily food markets and wonderful quality of light. Many visitors to La Coquiere use it as a base and are out all day exploring. Some of the things they see and do are:
• Hiking in the beautiful hills, cherry orchards, olive groves and lavender fields all around
• Shopping at the local village markets for the day's food - there is more than one market in different villages every day of the week
• Touring all the picture-postcard Luberon hill-top villages like Gordes, Menerbes, Bonnieux, Lacoste, Roussillon and Oppede which Peter Mayle wrote about in his book ‘A Year in Provence’
• The lavender festival at Sault
• Antique and bric-a-brac hunting at Isle-sur-Sorgue, the antiques capital of France
• Wine-tasting (and buying) at the local vineyards
• The Marquis de Sade's castle at Lacoste
• Senanque Abbey and the Village des Bories, at nearby Gordes
• Day-trips to: Avignon, Arles, Aix-en-Provence, St Remy, Nimes, the Camargue, the Rhone wine trail, Marseille, St Tropez, Cannes, Monte Carlo and the rest of the Cote d’Azur, Italy and the Alps.
