  • Peace and Quiet

"Having stayed downtown Kelowna the previous year for a week of vacation, our family was looking for a bit quieter of an environment this year (but of course still all the comforts of home)! In short, we had a wonderful stay, this was exactly what we were looking for. Communication from Donna was very good, and the additional info she provided at check-in answered any outstanding questions regarding local activities, etc. The outdoor gardens deserve special mention, as there are plenty of spots to relax and enjoy the scenery, or nap in the hammocks. The beach is indeed just a short walking distance away, at which we spent many hours. The local market store (a few min drive away, or an easy short bike ride) was clean and well stocked as well, with a burger/pizza grill for any evening poutine cravings. Warm and sunny for most of the week, the times when it rained during the day we were able to relax either inside, or outside on the very large covered private patio."

  • Truly an Island Gem!

"Our party of six recently returned to Northern Ontario after a one week stay at Fairfield House and we are already talking about returning again with a larger group! To say that our stay in this beautiful oceanfront century home was magical would be an understatement. In fact, I would easily attribute such glowing accolades at the risk of sounding over romantic, but with good reason. This home is spacious, bright, functional, beautifully appointed, private, updated, clean and happily situated on the scenic Augustine Cove. Although a historic house, it has new bathrooms and a very well stocked kitchen. There is also a spacious room with new laundry facilities and a walk-in ironing room. There are two living rooms with very comfortable sofas and chairs and a large sunroom that stretches across the front of the home facing the ocean. The outside deck is also large and well appointed with good quality adirondack chairs. There are added touches to the home such as two pairs of binoculars, tons of beach towels, books, tourist guides, magazines, jigsaw puzzles, games and a plethora of "Anne of Green Gables" material including a full set of the books. The bedrooms have amble closet space and the mattresses and linens are top quality. Although the home is furnished in a nice mix of antiques and modern furniture, you never get the feeling that the items are "hands off" and we felt right at home as soon as we walked in the door. The home is centrally located and easy to find. The drive to either Charlottetown or Summerside was easy and all the other attractions that PEI has to offer. As we are from Northern Ontario, driving any distance for dinner, groceries etc... is the norm, so we planned for supply pick-up in conjunction with our outings and did not find the private cove in any way isolated. Secluded and private yes, but not isolated with Charlottetown and Summerside less than one hour away. All our inquiries were handled in a very timely manner by Alan and Sue Manning and questions while we were at the house usually answered within the hour. The welcome package that was mailed prior to the visit was also very helpful in planning our trip to PEI and the gift of PEI jams and tea upon our arrival was a very nice touch. Do not hesitate to rent this historic home if you have a group from 6-10 as the ocean view, spaciousness, surroundings and appointments of this house cannot be overstated. Five star all the way"

  • And we're not even artists...

"But we love Artist's Cottage. I've been there three times in the last year and each time was great. At one point the kettle stopped working and a new one appeared on the doorstep within hours. Great service. In summer the backyard is a dream, in rainy fall weather the living room fireplace is heaven. Great spot."

  • Vacation in the mountains

"Our family really enjoyed staying at this condo. The condo is a spacious 3 bedroom unit that had no problem sleeping our family of 6 adults and 2 kids. Pool and hot tub were fantastic! We also really loved the location. The condo has a great view of the neighboring mountains and ski hill. Close drive to town and golf resorts. All amenities in the condo were in good shape. Darren was very helpful in booking and being responsive on payments, deposits, etc. Overall a great place to stay!"
