"Exactly as pictured and meticulously cleaned for our arrival; well appointed with most everything you need for your stay. We stayed for a week in March and really enjoyed Oasis del Caribe and this unit. Carolyn was great to work with for our booking and very responsive to our needs, providing lots of helpful advice and recommendations for us. Oasis del Caribe complex is very well maintained - we saw the pool being cleaned twice every day! The location is perfect; everything is within walking distance and every morning we enjoyed cinnamon rolls from Casa Pan Dulce which is about a two-minute walk. We didn't bother renting a golf cart as everything that we wanted was within easy walking distance, however if you are more interested in relaxing than walking, a golf cart would come in handy for picking up groceries, dining out and such. The condo is on the 3rd floor and the walk up is well worth it for the views and the cool breeze from the ocean when you're enjoying a drink on the balcony or on the roof-top, which affords you a full panoramic view of San Pedro. We recommend Richie's for groceries - best prices and selection, and the small liquor store just north of Richie's on the same side of the street. The store owner recognized us after 2 visits and started discounting our purchases without us even asking. The people of San Pedro are very warm and friendly and we were quite comfortable walking the streets and beaches. For lunch one day, we had Pork Burritos from Waraguma on Pescador (middle street) which were absolutely delicious, as were Frozen Margaritas from Wayo's Beach Bar just next door. Do yourself a favor and book a snorkeling trip to Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley; we used Searious Adventures; they picked us up by boat virtually right in front of Oasis del Caribe, and will drop you off there as well - cost was $70.00 USD (includes Marine Reserve fees of $10.00/pp) for 2 hours of guided snorkeling (ask for Eddie for your guide!). The excursion was the highlight of our trip, even better than the snorkeling off of Curacao which I didn't think possible. Thank you so much, Carolyn - we hope to return some day. We certainly won't need to shop around for accommodations!"Guest: Shaun B. Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: April 1, 2014View listing
"Our group of 3 couples stayed in the downstairs apartment of Casa Caracol November 21-Nov 29. It was our first trip to Belize, and Ambergris Caye. Phil was very responsive to my emails during the months leading up to our visit. We had him book our flights from Belize City to San Pedro. He met us at the San Pedro airport as promised, and upon our arrival at the house he went over things we should know, which was very helpful. If you listen to his instructions you should have no problems. The house was very clean and inviting, and had everything we needed. We did not do any cooking, as many restaurants and roadside stands were inexpensive, easy and close. We were surprised to see golf carts and other vehicles driving on the beach in front of the house, though it really did not cause any problems for us. The bar next door was really nice... good food and cold beers at reasonable prices. It did get a little loud at night sometimes, so be aware if you are a light sleeper. We used the 2 person kayak and Phil gave us some important instructions before we went to insure our safety. Phil arranged a snorkel trip for us that was fantastic! He also arranged for golf carts when we were ready. He accumulated those charges and we paid him at the end of our stay, which was convenient. He was very responsive to any questions or anything we needed during our stay. We had a lot of fun exploring and riding around on our golf carts. The beach was not the best for lounging, though that didn't stop us ;). We floated in our rafts right in front of the house, and there are lots of creatures to be found in the sea grasses. The locals are very friendly and helpful."Guest: Laurie C. Date of Stay: November 2014 Review Submitted: December 10, 2014View listing
"We had 4 adults for a full week and the house was perfect. It is located in a very quiet area but within walking distance to several great restaurants and bars. The pier offers a great place to sit and relax or you can choose to nap in the hammock. Everything is easily accessible by foot, bike or water taxi...no need to rent a golf cart. It doesn't get any better than waking up to a spectacular sunrise, a tropical breeze and the most beautiful blue water. We will definitely be back and plan to stay at Casa B'Alam again!!"Guest: Vic C. Date of Stay: December 2014 Review Submitted: January 4, 2015View listing
"We decide to take our annual vacation in Belize this August. My family and I definitely enjoyed it. We stayed at the Bamboo House villa and had an amazing experience. It is the place to be especially if you want to experience the real natural feel of Belize on an island. It was a home away from home for us. When we arrived, the Cook Camila had surprised us with some shrimp ceviche, Belizean stew chicken and coconut rice which were delicious. Yvette the new property manager showed us our rooms and the layout of the villa, while Edwin the grounds manager took our luggage to the rooms we chose to stay. Everyone there was so welcoming and most helpful to us. The rooms were cleaned every day by the house keeper. Edwin would take some of us in town once a day on Bamboo House golf cart to get whatever we need, and sometimes we would use the bicycles and ride around to get a better feel of the island. The grounds were beautiful with white sand that you can walk around barefoot. The security at Bamboo House was more than enough, especially since we had small kids. The pool is located on the second floor deck that is ten feet high and the Palapa on the first floor was perfect to sit under and enjoy the view of the lagoon. When we were not at the villa, we were touring the town by the golf carts we rented and enjoying drinks and conversation with locals and other tourists at the nearby lounge, bars and restaurants (Kama lounge, The Palapa, Ak’Bol and Molly’s restaurant and Irish pub to name a few). We went snorkeling, diving and visited Mayan Ruins that Yvette helped organized for us. That was surely the upside of having everyday assistance. The heat was definitely on in San Pedro which made the rain water showers perfect for a cool down after a hot day. A piece of advice, do not forget bug spray, you are in the Caribbean, with that said; it will be all smooth sailing and one awesome vacation. We enjoyed our time in San Pedro, and staying at Bamboo House villa definitely gave us the tropical Caribbean feel of our vacation. When you want the experience of nature, relaxation and fun, BamBoo House Belize would be a place I recommend. It is as close of just half mile from town for when you want the party scene, but far enough to get the peace and quiet for your relaxation."Guest: Jeannie S.
