  • perfect location in a most beautiful city

"My husband and close friends shared this beautiful apartment for four days. It was extremely spacious and well equipped. We were met at the apartment building door by Niccolo who helped us up the stairs with our bags and explained everything to us about the apartment and the neighborhood. In addition, Gilda had a binder overflowing with information about the area, its restaurants, her favorite cafes, bakeries, etc. We loved the authenticity and charm of the building especially sitting in the communal courtyard eating a snack and admiring the flower bed (jointly planted and maintained by some of the tenants). Gilda's neighbors were welcoming and friendly and answered questions for us more than once during our stay. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was supplied with fresh fruit and water for our arrival. Almost anywhere you would want to go in Florence was within walking distance (except airport). We will most definitely return to Gilda's apartment on our next trip to Italia! Grazie mille for a memorable stay in your friendly and charming city."

  • Excellent!

"We chose this apartment because of the reviews, the terrace and the location. It was everything we had hoped. Paola met us when we arrived and gave us all kinds of help with directions, restaurants, etc. This apartment is only a couple of blocks from the train station making walking with bags easy. It is on the 6th floor, large and bright and spotlessly clean with a wonderful terrace looking out over Florence. We were traveling with our 2 teenage daughters and they were quite comfortable on the twin size pull out sleeper chairs that we made up with sheets and bedding. The kitchen is quite small but we did not cook. It appeared to have every item one would need to prepare a meal. The bathroom is large and has a small front loading washing machine in it. Rather than hang our clothes to dry on the terrace, we just went downstairs and used the dryers in the washateria located next door. We had a glass of wine while we waited. I can't say enough about the view. The terrace runs the entire length of the living room and dining room with 2 sets of French doors opening out to it. You can see all across Florence. There is a nice little table and chair set out there as well. The location is central and walking distance to everything. Although really close to the train station and walking distance to all the "must see" things, this apartment is not in a really touristy spot, which is what we wanted. There are nice neighborhood restaurants all around. There are at least 2 little grocery markets on the same block and a larger (by European standards lol) a block away. The apartment has character and is very nicely decorated but it is not like staying in a super modern hotel. If that's what you're looking for then this isn't the place for you. If you want Italian charm, an owner who takes pride in her apartment and great location then you've got to stay here. We loved this apartment in Florence and would highly recommend it to other travelers."

  • Simply wonderful

"We were very happy with the flat. It is everything shown to be in the description and more. It was immaculate in cleanliness and decor. I had been warned the center might have a noise issue, we NEVER heard a sound. The stairs could be a problem, but not for us. We highly recommend this property to everyone. We hope to go back.
