"Above quote from husband as we pulled away from Captain's Quarters condo early last weekend. If you haven't been to Dunedin, give it a try. We checked out West Central Florida towns from Tarpon Springs to Siesta Key and Dunedin is our favorite coastal get away. There's so much to do if you enjoy cycling, walking, parks, boating, shopping, dining, quaint downtown areas and beaches. Our favorite places to eat: Flanagan's Pub (Dunedin), Sea Sea Riders (Dunedin), Rusty Belly (Tarpon Springs) and the old Crabby Bills (Indian Rocks/Shores), Casa Tina's (Dunedin) and Strachan's Homemade Ice Cream, where I ordered key lime pie. Dunedin is slightly removed from busy Clearwater which satisfied our desire to relax in the sunshine, enjoy a quaint town and have some good, family conversations. We enjoyed being on the waterfront and taking the boat out to Caladesi Island and around the sound. Husband also enjoyed throwing his line off the pier and spotting dolphins and manatees. It's a 4 mile round-trip bike ride to Honeymoon Island beach (loved it) and we did this twice, plus cycled to downtown and enjoyed Pinellas Trail. Janet and Alex were most cordial and helpful. They offer a well-furnished, comfortable, roomy condo with a lovely view of the waterfront on the covered deck. There's also a covered deck at the end of the dock. Grocery store, gas station, restaurants, shops (and Honeymoon Island beach) are within walking distance. Half the time we left our vehicle parked. People at work are telling me how relaxed I look, so that says a lot about our trip. Thanks again, Janet and Alex, for helping to make our vacation a most enjoyable retreat."
