  • Nice get away

"We met a group of friends from various locations and Bush House was central to all parties. The pictures of the house and grounds were very accurate and nice....but the actual location/house were even more beautiful and inviting in person!! It was so comfortable and the location was just right for privacy and a country quiet time. I would definately recommend this to others staying in the area."

  • Great location in the downtown area

"The location of the condo was great. In the downtown area and reasonably close to campus. The condo had a very comfortable and home like feel. It is a great alternative to staying at a hotel"

  • Spectacular View, Immaculate, Garden of Eden Setting!

"This has to be THE BEST waterfront view available as a rental in Kentucky! Just a mile off I-75 and minutes from all the glorious attractions in Lexington, this slice of paradise is secluded amid towering sycamores, stately oaks, and majestic maples. The decks open onto the Kentucky River facing magnificent limestone palisades with waterfalls cascading to the river below. The view is so breathtaking you'll never want to leave the deck. And each unit has its own large private deck. You can practically fish from the deck off the ground unit. On our recent visit, we were delighted every day by an Osprey crisscrossing the river and diving for fish. We also had numerous sightings of kingfishers, great blue herons, wood ducks, and mallards. Songbirds and tree frogs serenaded us day and night. These cottages are immaculate and well stocked with everything you need to cook and stay awhile. We loved watching the full moon rise above the trees while basking in front of a bonfire with an endless supply of wood. Mist hovered over the river while the frogs and cicadas sang through the night. We had a reunion of family and friends. There was ample parking and well furnished patios to accommodate all. The flowers and landscaping are amazing, fed by a discreetly hidden irrigation system; they are lush, vibrant, and manicured. The Kentucky River Cottages are not just a place to spend the night. This is a destination, a relaxing, renewing Garden of Eden experience."

  • Escape to Blue Grass, Bourbon, Horse Culture

"Location – Location – Location What an amazing and perfect 55th Wedding Anniversary!! A couple of 78yo’s that wanted a memorable 55th and we more than found it at The Carriage House and Midway. At our ages, we are beyond the normal tourist locations and instead look for places into which we can immerse ourselves and attempt to find the culture and character of where we are visiting. VRBO has helped us do that for many years and this was NO exception. The Carriage House – Very clean, very well equipped, ramp access at the back for ease of entrance/egress, beautifully decorated - Transported us into the wonderful “horse country” of Kentucky. Combined with the wonderful owners, we made an early and easy transition into the unique environment of Midway. Bourbon!! The heart of the Bourbon Trail gave us the opportunity to savor the wonderful libation of the region. Fun tours and amazing “tastings” – all within a 30 minute drive of The Carriage House. And the best part – very scenic and easy driving. (if you did not “taste” too much.} Blue Grass Horse Country – Unique in all the world and so easy to slip into. Amazing manicured pastures and paddocks. Keenland Race Track, Kentucky Horse Farm and the wonderful “Old Friends” farm for horses that were too old to race or stud. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful Dining!! Gracious Southern Dining and gastronomic delights. “Hot Brown” – a must if you have never had it. Holly Hill Inn Brunch – you will wish every day was a weekend day. Enough – Perfect Location, The Carriage House, Midway, hosts. Do yourselves a favor and escape to a different world."
