  • Home away from home

"We are just ending a 10 week stay. We were here last year and plan to return in the future. This home is very clean, neat and well equipped. The Taylors are always helpful if we need anything. It is located in a comfortable neighborhood with a park and small lake across the street. We enjoy walking our dog in the park every day, and my husband has gone fishing in the lake. This home offers everything we want in a winter home. We strongly recommend it."

  • Living Texas History

"Our vacation at Hasse Haus was much more than a "stay." It was a sojourn into Texas history enshrined in a lovingly preserved property set on a still "working" ranch in the storied Hill Country. Here we experienced the "stars at night," exquisite sunsets, sights and sounds of wildlife under the "Comanche" Moon, and the American experience of the Hasse family as they worked, endured, and ultimately triumphed in their quest to establish a good life in a new Nation. We arose each morning to view the sun come up over the ridge, open the wooden shutters, fill the stone walled house with the aromas of coffee and breakfast and hurry out the door to walk the nature trails. We were "adopted" by the generous and loving members of the Art Methodist Church across the road, and these precious neighbors will remain life-long friends. Hasse Haus and the people of Art and Mason are true gems deep in the real heart of the very big heart of Texas."

  • Soooo Awesome!

"We stayed here for 3 nights and this will be the first place I check every time I visit Austin. The minute you open the front door you just say "Wow!" Straight ahead is a glass wall that offers a view to a lovely back yard with a huge oak tree and an inviting deck. The shade from the trees and the warm wall colors and furnishings all make this rental feel like the coziest home you've ever been in. The kitchen is modern and clean; coffees and teas were provided as well as a bottle of wine! The upstairs was the same as downstairs...beautiful, warm furnishings/decor and a very nice, large bathroom. Windows were everywhere and the 2nd floor almost felt like living in a tree house due to the mature oak trees out the windows. Doug, the owner, welcomed us personally and couldn't have been nicer. Please consider yourself fortunate to have this home available to you for your time in Austin. The location is close to everything; you will wish you lived in this neighborhood and you will wish you didn't have to leave this house. Enjoy!"
