  • A Great Getaway Location

"My wife and I really enjoyed our recent stay at this lake house. It's really a house and not a cabin but who cares, it's a super place to relax, watch the world go by, do some boating, canoeing, fishing etc. The house is set up very nicely with great beds with cotton sheets, tiled floors, L shaped sofa, stuffed chair, big TV, fire place and has an open floor plan. On top of that, you are just a short walk/stone's throw from the lake and small boat slip/dock. We spent a lot of time out on the front porch where we sat watching the deer, boaters, and green grass during the day and bar-b-q'ed in the evenings. There's only one house closeby and it was vacent. A few of the neighbors were here for the weekend, mainly middle aged adults, quiet and always waved back. Nice people! You can take long walks or jog around the area as there is a lot of level land and gently sloping hills that afford you nice glimpses of the lake. I loved just walking down to the lake, at the end of the neighborhood, with my 8 year old Pointer and watch the ducks, geese, boaters and let the world go by. I would recommend the lake house to anyone that is looking for a change to staying in condos or hotels in Horse Shoe Bay, Kingsland is only 15 minutes away and offers HEB for groceries, gas stations and fast food locations. Marble Falls is only another 10 minutes from there. Stay away from the local grocery/hardware store. It's pricey! There is a really good sandwich/pizza place just across the street from grocery, where you can get good food. We will definately be back! Jay"

  • Awesome place to stay while in Austin

"Six of us tennis teammates/moms/friends spent a most enjoyable weekend here. The accommodations were outstanding! Everything was very comfortable and very spacious and clean. We loved the upper floor patio, the family of deer below and the hummingbirds right in front of us! Next time, we will make plans to spend more time in Austin so we can hang out at this home more! Everything about it was great!"

  • Little piece of home

"My husband and I chose to stay in New Braunfels because it was halfway between San Antonio and Austin...we have family in both areas and since we had never been to Texas before thought this made sense. This property was so clean and spacious. The kitchen was perfect for our needs, plus we had plenty of seating (including the balcony). We were able to walk to Gruene (oldest dance hall, many restaurants, wine places, market)...great place to stay. Quiet and private which suited us fine. Owners were kind and flexible with times, etc. Would definitely stay here again!"
