  • Perfect spot for fun on the river with family - Very clean; great location

"My husband, 9-year-old son, and I stayed here for 4 nights right before my son went back to school. Location was perfect: close to Landa Park, New Braunfels Train Museum, Gruene, Schlitterbahn (new section is right across the street), Guadalupe River, and Canyon Lake. It sits right on the Comal - great for people watching on weekends and floating after all the crazy college kids go away. You can walk right into the Comal River from the property; my husband and son walked home from Schlitterbahn. Property was very clean and well-maintained. Kitchen was well-stocked with cooking utensils, plates, and all kitchen hardware (I liked the toaster better than mine at home!). We were very happy with this property, had a wonderful time, and would love to stay again. Owner was responsive, friendly, and a joy to deal with, as was the local contact for the property."

  • Unbelievable

"Nothing I can write here will do justice to this place: it's simply wonderful. Though relatively small, every space inside and outside the cabin is beautifully composed, and the attention to detail quite remarkable--linens, towels, various artifacts, kitchen things. The owner has obviously designed the place to convey a sense of peace and beauty as well as history, which it does quite successfully. The first night we were there we had a little thunderstorm kick up and got a sort of sense of what those first Texas pioneers must have experienced trying to establish a foothold in this then isolated place! Even using recent trips to Taos and San Miguel de Allende as a standard of judgment, this remains our favorite destination of recent memory."

  • Fantastic River Cabin

"We had a great time in the San Marcos River Cabin. It felt like we were out in the country. I loved the covered porch area and swing. We enjoyed showing swimming, fishing, and our little ones loved watching trains go over the river. It's a perfect get away for small families. We will be back for sure. Thank you!"

  • Great stay - Great people

"Our stay there was really great. It is a very peaceful and quiet place close to the lake. The owner are very friendly and helpful in any way. They surprised us with homemade German Spatzle in the fridge because we are from Germany. Delicious! You can feed the deers every evening and morning. They come Close to the front door. That was exciting for our son. We would choose it again. Thanks for that great stay!"
