About this property
Lana’i Oasis and Gem, The Artist's House
The Artists House, Permit # STLA 2017/0002 is a home away from home with the comfortable furnishings and great amenities. The fabulous Lana'i sunsets can be enjoyed outside on the deck where there is glass dining room table with 6 chairs and bbq to enjoy. There are two bedrooms, one comfortable king bed in the master bedroom which has a joined master bathroom and a comfortable queen bed in other bedroom. The living room has a sofa bed with a queen temper-pedic mattress and a single futon bed which is used as a loveseat as well if needed. There are two bathrooms, one with a jet tub and the other with a double head shower. There is an on-demand hot water heater so, there will always be hot water! There is an outdoor shower after the beach or just to be in the Lana'i Hawaiian air. No need to bring too many clothes as there is an LG washer and dryer that is top notch! The Artist's home is a fully renovated double insulated plantation home from the 1930's that will give you the feel of being back in time and yet, with all the amenities of comfort such as granite countertops, dishwasher, specialty wood floor, fans, etc . This home is owned and was fully renovated in 2009 by Jordanne, who started her fine art painting career in 2002 on Lana'i and now lives on Maui as a successful painter. Jordanne opened a one-woman Gallery called the Jordanne Gallery in Makawao, Maui in 2009. She resides in Maui with her husband and 2 young children. Her early artwork is on the walls of The Artists House and creates a lovely feeling of plantation life ambiance. She has used the actual pineapple grass and bamboo from Lana'i to create a beautiful subtle mural. You can swim at Manele Bay, play tennis, golf, attend free water aerobics at the local heated pool, hike the Munroe Trail, drive to different parts of the island such as Polihua Beach, Shipwreck Beach, Garden of The Gods, and then come home and enjoy the rest of the evening in the QUIET area of town at the Artists home. Lana’i is known for the roosters and they will crow at all hours of the day and night - Jordanne needed her own oasis where the crowing of roosters wouldn’t hinder her own living experience on Lana’i, so, she created this oasis. The location can’t be explained enough (worth any extra monies) as other rentals are based in the center of town where the roosters can be heard. The home is located in the old Japanese section where the surrounding neighbors are very respectful. Grocery shopping as well as retail is still a short 7 minute walk. There is a newly renovated movie theater that is also a short 7 min walk away. Car rentals are usually available through Jordanne's contacts. You can have dinner with a short walk to Pele's Other Garden (full bar available,) Cafe 565, the Blue Ginger, Lana’i Hotel (full bar) or Canoe’s or dine at the Artists House fully equipped kitchen. We hope you love your stay in the Artists House with Aloha! -Jordanne

About the host
Hosted by Jordanne Perkins
I purchased this property in 2004 and fully renovated it in 2009/2010. My original intent was that it was to be my dream home. A small, intimate property with everything you need and desire to enjoy island life. I kept everything from the original property that I was able to keep to continue the original plantation energy of the home such as the beadboard ceiling and walls. The home is fully double wall insulated with new windows to keep the sound of the roosters at bay for a lovely night sleep. Due to falling in love, I now live in Maui but, since we fell in love in Lana'i we have chosen to keep this special property to share with other like minded individuals who desire to fall in love with the island as much as we did. I am a successful artist who is married, owns the Jordanne Gallery in Makawao, Maui and has two young children. I have been a successful artist since 2003 where I spent years from 2002-2012 showcasing my artwork at The Four Season Hotels on Lana'i and residing in this special home for many of those years.
Why they chose this property
This home is a special home away from home. Close to town, close to wonderful amenities and lovely vistas and fun expeditions. A wonderful, quiet, safe place to enjoy your evenings and days when not exploring the island. A perfect oasis within a fully fenced property which creates privacy for both an intimate couple of 2 or families or friends to be together under one roof to share in the Lana'i peacefulness. There is no other home which is like this and created with such love, attention to detail, Lana'i stone, Lana'i elements, and artistic design while continuing to hold true the original 1930's plantation feel which is a special part of staying in Lana'i City. When the home was renovated even the additional ceiling was hand created in order to keep the original ceiling in tact. All doors are also the original 1930's plantation home doors which are no longer made. Please enjoy fully this special property. Mahalo! - Jordanne
