"Honu Cove” is named for the majestic cove in Kauai, Hawaii. The motto there is "This is the first day of your life”. Perfect mantra for your family as you make memories that will last a lifetime while relaxing and enjoying the natural setting of Sandbridge Beach. The beautifully and fully renovated waterfront beach home is located on the prestigious north end of Sandbridge, a short 5 minute walk to the beach, and with RARE direct access to beautiful Crystal Lake and Lake Tecumseh. The open concept great room, kitchen with expansive island and dining room give you plenty of space for the whole family, or multiple families. Granite countertops and hardwood along with the tasteful appointments make this a great spot for any family with discriminating taste. Three master bedrooms each with en suite, two king and one queen, along with a queen bedroom, double bunkbed room, and queen air mattress make this a perfect multigenerational vacation spot! The screen porch off the great room as well as multiple decks offer both sun and shade to meet the varied needs of your family. The outdoor shower makes clean up after going to the beach a breeze for all. The private lagune style pool complete with waterfall looking into the canals off Back Bay gives a serene mood for your week at the beach. 2 person kayak and row boat are offered to guests at no charge for exploring the canals and nearby lakes to see a variety of wildlife or for fishing. Kids will love to fish off the dock or swim in the pool while adults enjoy the pool table. Also provided at no charge are 4 adult beach cruiser bikes, 2 surf boards, multiple boogie boards, a beach umbrella, beach chairs, and a cart to get your belongings to the beach, so there is something for everyone at Hone Cove!

My family and I had a great long weekend here to celebrate a family wedding. The house was exactly as pictured and equipped with everything we needed for our stay and more! The communication and check-in process with Greg was one of the most seamless experiences I’ve had with an owner. Although we didn’t get to use the pool because of the sudden rainstorms, it was still very nice to look at. Will definitely look to rebook in the future for visits to the area!

This property is in a great location to both the beach & local restaurants. It was very clean & had everything my family needed to enjoy their stay during my son’s wedding weekend. It was too chilly for the pool but the boys jumped in anyway! The only thing of concern I would note is the indoor winding staircase, inside what is the front entrance, that leads to the kitchen & upstairs bedrooms. It’s difficult to traverse with full hands so I recommend entering the home, and sending someone up to unlock the upstairs door & everyone loading in via the southern stairs. 10/10 would recommend!

The beach house was great! In Sandbridge, there are many beach houses, with some fancier than others. This house is in a great location, right on the end with a dock and access to the quieter side of Sandbridge beach. The owner was very responsive with any requests or questions that we had about the house. There were some ants that were pesky but we resolved the issue (it happens, especially at this time of year). The pictures really tell the story. It is not the newest beach house on the block, but accommodating, remote, and a nice stay for a vacation. We enjoyed it very much! Definitely would stay here again!

Our family enjoyed our stay at Honucove. It was our first time for Sandbridge. House was large enough for our family of 13. Home was clean and had everything we needed. Swimming pool was enjoyed for late afternoon and evenings. Walk wasn’t that long to beach. We enjoyed a quiet neighborhood and plenty of room on beach. It was a Great. Thanks Greg

A nice beach stay.

The description of the property was accurate. Nice house, nice pool, nice location. Most of the property was very clean. Bathrooms were relatively new and clean. Furniture and beds were in good shape. Nice neighborhood and a short walk to the beach. Our family likes birding and nature and the nearby wildlife refuge was very worthwhile. The beach was beautiful and uncrowded. Good places to eat only twenty minutes away. Overall we had a great visit.

Our family found this home to be the perfect place for a family getaway. Whether you wanted to go to the beach, hang at the house by the pool, or fish off the dock, there was something for everyone. Our group was 4 families: 7 adults and 6 children. We had plenty of room, something for everyone — exploring the lagoon, swimming in the pool, or playing pool inside. We especially liked the screen porch, the well stocked kitchen and of course the pool

I grew up in Oklahoma and my wife grew up in Maryland both loving the water no matter if it was ocean, river, lake, or pool. We have always thought of Sandbridge as that special place to get away from it all yet keep every family member happy with various activities and wanted to share all of this with others on their vacation.

Why they chose this property

In addition to the local attractions, Honu Cove offers RARE direct access to Crystal Lake and Lake Tecumseh via the canal behind the house for excellent fresh water fishing. We provide both a canoe and jonboat so exploring is fun, convenient, and without additional expense. Honu Cove offers more than just a beach vacation.

What makes this property unique

The north end of Sandbridge is a very quiet family friendly seaside village for a relaxing and slow paced vacation. Watching dolphin pods swim past, ghost crabs crawl on the beach, and various birds fly overhead is a daily occurrence when at the beach. Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge is located at the south end of Sandbridge and contains over 9,200 acres of beach, dunes, woodland, and marsh. Tram tours leave from the Visitor Center and take you on a guided tour through the refuge and into False Cape State Park. A fishing pier is located at Little Island Park to enjoy the view or fish in the ocean. If you wish to explore beyond Sandbridge, you are within a 25 minute drive to Virginia Beach attractions such as the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Museum, Ocean Breeze Waterpark, Motorworld Thrill Park, Hunt Club Farm Petting Zoo and the Virginia Beach boardwalk with water sports, shops, and restaurants. Additional attractions include the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk, outlets in Norfolk, Colonial Williamsburg, and Busch Gardens in Williamsburg.
