Unit #612 is a small 2 bedroom unit considered a demi unit (861 sq. feet), located directly on the beach/gulf. No roads to cross.
A one-time amenity use fee of $15.00 (plus tax) is collected online, for each registered guest over the age of 5. The fee is collected 1-3 weeks prior to check in/arrival at Sterling Sands. This fee is payable directly to Sterling Sands HOA. The web site to check in will be provided to you 2-3 weeks prior to check in. This provides for a contact free check in process and assistance in keeping our property secure with only guests using our property, pool & beach and other amenities.
On site security ensures the safety of all guests and guards against non guests using our facility, pool and beach & parking lot.
Only registered guests may use the amenities (pool, beach, barbeque area and exercise room). For security, the wrist bands are required to be worn on the property and to access amenities at all times.
Due to fire codes, this unit is only allowed a maximum of 4 renters, no exceptions. Maximum of 4 guests per Destin fire codes. Minimum age to rent is 25. No exceptions will be made to number of guests or minimum age requirement.
The primary bedroom has a King size bed (Tempur-pedic mattress) and a 4k TV mounted on the wall. An adjoining bathroom has a comfort height toilet, walk in shower, hair dryer and cabinet for your toiletries. Bath towels under the sink cabinet.
Second bedroom is very small with Queen size bed, (new Sealy Posturepedic Mattress), cabinet, TV on the wall but no closet. There is a new dresser in the room to store your clothing and a drawer under the bed that pulls out for storage. Guest bedroom has an adjoining bathroom with tub/shower combo, comfort height toilet and cabinet for toiletries. Bath towels are provided under the sink. Renovations will begin - winter of 2026, for the guest bath: tub/shower enclosure conversion to a walk in shower only.
A 4k TV in the primary bedroom and a smart TV in the living room with premium cable channels and a Blue-ray DVD player. High speed internet access.
2019-2026 Renovations include all new:
-Ceramic, plank tile flooring throughout the unit and deck.
-New walk-in ceramic tiled shower in primary and guest baths.
- New sliding glass doors in living room and new windows in each bedroom. All meet current hurricane standards and cut down on road noise from HWY 98.
-Quartz countertops in the kitchen and vanities in the bathrooms with new brushed nickel faucets.
-Unit painted throughout (walls, trim, doors and closets).
-New stainless steel LG appliances: Refrigerator/freezer, glass top stove with built in sensor control, microwave & dishwasher.
-Modern ceiling fans installed in the living room & primary/guest bedrooms.
-White dining table & 4 black dining chairs. New leather couch in living room with brightly colored decorative pillow throws.
-New, brightly colored comforters in each bedroom and colorful artwork throughout.
-New window treatments/blinds in both bedrooms and living room in April of 2025. Black out shades in both bedrooms.
-Blender, toaster, mini Keurig & 12 cup coffee pot, (located in the cabinet above the stove), in the kitchen.
-New stainless steel LG WashTower: stackable washer/dryer unit.
Fully equipped kitchen, bed/bath linens & towels are included. 4 beach towels are located in the white cabinet in the kitchen/ living room for your use. Usually, we do not provide beach towels, but have decided to include them for ease of guest experience and to save room in your suitcases. Please wash & dry beach towels before checking out, so that the next guest will be able to use towels for their stay.
Each bathroom is stocked with 2 rolls of toilet paper plus hand soap & the kitchen has 1 roll of paper towels to get you started. Unit #612 is on the 6th floor and three units to the right when exiting off the elevator.
Sterling Sands is located kiddie-corner across the street from The Track which has go-cart racing, bumper cars and mini golf. There is also an Alvin's Island directly across the street, a liquor store, Subway and Merlin's pizza. About a 1/4 mile down the road to the west is Big Kahuna's water park.
From March 1- Oct 31st, kayak and boogie board rentals are available on the 380 sq. foot private beach at Sterling Sands. Beach service is provided by Beach, Sun and Sand operated by Chris Reznick. Beach service (1 umbrella & 2 chairs) is also available to purchase on site during your stay March 1st- October 31st. at the hut on the beach.
(Owner provided beach service for guests is no longer offered at Sterling Sands due to the board member, HOA vote against offering the service.)
There are numerous dining options and food available in Destin. Some of my favorite restaurants are Bay Cafe & The Shack in FWB. The Shack in FWB has the best Fried Green Tomato's with Lobster/crab and a creamy sauce. (IMO). Bay Cafe, a unique French Restaurant (below the bridge in FWB, FL.) has the BEST burger on a croissant that melts in your mouth!!
In Destin there are numerous restaurants. Bone Fish, Harry T's (for brunch : best Crab cake egg benedicts), Pompano Joe's, McGuires, Marina Cafe, Dewey Destin's, Pazzo Italiano for Italian, Harbor Docks, Fudpucker's (see the alligators), Ruth Chris, Fat Boys for burgers. but hands down Bay Cafe, the BEST burger. Also available on croissants is a grouper sandwich at the Bay Cafe.
Best breakfast includes Bistrology, First Watch & Another Broken Egg.
While staying at Sterling Sands, enjoy a short walk on the beach from the condo to The Back Porch restaurant for food and adult beverages. Family friendly atmosphere.
There are so many opportunities for fun in Destin! Deep-sea fishing, dolphin cruises, parasailing, snorkeling tours, and a very fun pirate cruise, (Buccaneer Pirate Cruise) for families.
Harbor Walk, Destin Commons and Silver Sands Outlet Mall all have great shopping! At Harbor Walk you can watch the boats come in with their catches of the day.
