Only stayed two nights. Wish we could have stayed longer. Maybe next time.
I enjoyed having you and you were very nice to work with...thank you!
You didn't mind the deer passing by? LOL
The house is beautiful this time of year and just as nice in winter. So if you are a skier, please let me know. I would enjoy having you return.
worst lakehouse ever
The entire shoreline and bottom of lake is covered with thousands
of sharp rocks of various shapes & sizes. It is not possible to walk
barefoot into the lake. The lake is about 80 feet from the house
down a hill covered with sharp rocks and tree roots. The ad
on the website promised a kayak, and I noticed reviewers mentioned kayaking but there was no kayak & the owner said
there never was one. This leads me to question all of the reviews
I have read. Dp not bring children to this house and expect them
to safely play in the water.
I'm so sorry because I know you had difficulty understanding me and the description of the house.
When you called me and demanded that I get it to stop raining only to find out you were seriously demanding that I make the rain stop, I wasn't sure how I could help you enjoy the wonderful surroundings so many of my other guests have enjoyed and have reviewed with four and five star ratings. Most of our stay was sunny and beautiful. And the area really did need the rain that day.
The house is a 30 second, if not less, walk to the lake. When you complained because the house was not on the edge of the water, I did explain that most lake front homes need some frontage to conform with building regulations and a place for the dock. The photos of the house clearly show it is not on the edge of the water--none of the community homes are.
When you then called to ask what can be done to keep all of the deer away from the house, I wasn't sure where to go from there. Most of my guests, especially their children, love when deer, wild turkeys and other wildlife passes by the house.
I did explain that you can launch the canoe from the dock of the house. The house is not advertised with a kayak. It never had a kayak, nor was it ever advertised with a kayak. I did try to help you rent one from the community, which does rent boats, canoes and kayaks while the weather is still good, you insisted that I "drop off" a kayak for you to use because you did not understand what "renting" meant. Guests who kayak on the lake bring their own, which I more than welcome, or rent one.
I also explained and gave you directions to the beautiful beach and picnic area, only a five minute walk from the house so that you could walk in the water, but also explained how cold the water was this time of year. You wanted to know why the water wasn't warmer.
I did appreciate your staying at my house and while I wish communication was better and that your expectations were not so strange, I did appreciate your attempts at trying to understand as well as leaving my house in good shape.
My house has so much to offer to guests. The natural surroundings of the house, the deer and wildlife abundant in the area, the conveniences of the community, the many many things to do in the Bushkill Falls area, especially being so close to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, so close to outlet shops and ski resorts, etc,., etc. If you are looking for a relaxing time away from the city or the pace of life in general, my house is the place to be.
A Great Place To Stay
We had a fantastic week staying here. The house was exactly what we were expecting and communication with Patrick was quick and easy. The house is centrally located for all the activities we wanted to do. We hope to return, this time with the kids, in the spring.
I enjoyed having you very much and can't wait until you come back.
Exactly as advertised nice secluded getaway
I enjoyed having you. So glad you had a good time.
Come back soon.
Wonderful, quiet getaway!
Our stay at Lake Haven with our toddler and dog was exactly what we were looking for! It was right on the lake with a private dock and canoe. The neighborhood was quiet and brimming with deer. The house itself had all we needed; it was cozy and clean. We were right near plenty of hiking trails. It was a nature filled getaway that we'd do all over again!
I loved having you. You were great guests. I am so glad you enjoyed what the house and area had to offer, often right outside of the deck overlooking the lake.
I hope you come back soon!
Lovely weekend away
Great spot for a weekend away from the city. We enjoyed our time at the house right at the lake. We went kayaking and swimming, had BBQ on the large deck and sat in front of the fireplace in one of the first colder nights at the end of summer. Beautiful hikes are also nearby. Patrick was very responsive and communication was easy.
I enjoyed having you as guests. Come back any time. You would be more than welcome. Thank you!
