We vacation in Capitola and Santa Cruz almost every year for the past 10 years. We try to change it up with renting different homes in different locations, but this by far was our favorite. The view is spectacular. You feel at home the minute you walk through the front doors. It’s comfortable it’s clean it’s inviting. We had the most incredible family vacation that I will cherish all the memories for years to come.

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay with our family at Rachel’s property. The gardens are gorgeous, plenty of space for our family to spend time together while engaging in different activities. We plan to return.

We loved our time there!

We thoroughly enjoyed are visit, as did our friends and family who joined us.. The house is spacious, the yard was a great place for the kids to play, and it's just a short walk to the village! The property manager was a dream to work with! We are looking forward to our visit next year!

Heaven by the sea!

We just returned from a three night stay in this lovely home. My 18 year old told me this morning "this was an 11 out of 10 vacation!" I know I did something right when my son tells me that! We enjoyed making wonderful memories at this home and look forward to returning again later this year.

Best Santa Cruz Stay Ever

Simply breathtaking views and perfect location - walking distance to Privates Beach, Capitola (.5 mile) and Pleasure Point (> .5 mile). House has everything one needs for entertaining a group or oneself and is spacious with room for everyone to relax in private. We enjoyed grilling and s’mores in the back and a cornhole tournament. I seriously hope that we are able to book this gem on Opal Cliff again soon!

Stunning View

We loved meeting John, the owner, who showed us around the property and shared its history. The view of Monterrey Bay from the property is stunning and spans the width of the house. We enjoyed our stay immensely especially the backyard with firepit, grill, room for lawn games, and beautiful landscaping, sharing meals in the large open dining/living room, plus the fun game room where we had ping pong tournaments and played board games. It was a blessing to gather together as a family at Casa de Sanfilippo and hope to be able to come stay again next year!

Breathtaking Views in a Great Location!

Stayed 4 nights at this beautiful home. The view is just like the pictures. We really enjoyed sitting out on the patio, used the bbq and the firepit. Great to be able to walk into Capitola to restaurants, shopping and the beach. House was very clean and lots of beds to house a large group. Things that kept this from being a 5 star house was the furniture layout and the kitchen supplies. Just like pictured - the main living room has a 3 person couch and two chairs. There is a stone hearth to sit on too, but not very comfortable. Not enough seats for a house that sleeps 12. There is a TV room, but again, one small couch and two chairs. If you all want to sit together, you have to bring in chairs and sit on the floor. My recommendation - add a large couch to the living room and a larger rug to make it possible for everyone to be together. Dining table is large which was nice for meals. Kitchen was pretty unorganized and needs some basics (mixing bowls, set of sharp knives). Turiya, the property manager, was very helpful with a couple of small items we needed during the stay. We did give her the feedback on the seating and the kitchen and she was very receptive and appreciated the input. All said, this was a great house, great location and amazing views!

Our girls weekend was nothing short of perfect from the start! The owner met us and gave us a tour and the history behind this beautiful home, which made it even better! From the moment you walk thru the door, its jaw dropping gorgoreous! The breathtaking views along with the comfort and cleanliness can't be beat! The kitchen is plenty big with all the essentials,huge dining room and bonus gameroom made our stay very comfortable. The bedrooms are plentiful and very comfortable. 3 good size bathrooms/showers for a group of 9 ladies! Even better was thelocation, close to both Capitola and Santa Cruz. This by far has been our favorite VRBO for our annual girls trip!

Perfect Location and great views

We have stayed in Santa Cruz several times now, and this is by far the nicest house we have stayed at. Great views of the Monterey Bay all the way to Monterey and it's less than a mile from Capitola's Esplanade and Shadowbrook restaurant. We had 6 adults, my wife and I, plus our kids and their spouses. The house is all one story, which was great for all of us to hang out. There is plenty of space. It was very clean and updated except the bathrooms which were as the picture showed. Overall ,a 10 out of 10

Chilling on the cliffs…

What a great place to stay with family and friends! Plenty of room inside, out back and in front. And a nice, convenient walk into the quaint Capitola village and pier. Last, but not least, great and quick service provided by both the owner and property management. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Amazing location

My husband and I, friends and family stayed here for 4 nights for our son’s wedding weekend during some of the hottest days of the year. When we realized there was no a/c or fans, we called the property manager and she had two fans delivered within a few hours. Home is spacious and the views were spectacular! Short walk to downtown Capitola and beach. We enjoyed watching the sunrise and relaxing in the beautiful backyard.

Wow, what a gorgeous set up for a rental, with incredible views, and great location! The owner, Johnny, met us, gave us a thorough walk-through, and was so gracious, fun and friendly, we really appreciated that. We have not experienced that after many stays at other VRBO‘s. The house is perfect in so many ways! We stayed here 36 days and loved every moment of our stay. View from the yard of hundreds of birds (seagulls, pelicans, cormorants) and the Monterey Bay was surreal at times. From the kitchen, well stocked with appliances, glassware, plates, utensils, ect to a 8 seat dining room table, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a TV room and a fun filled ‘rumpas’ room with a ping pong table and large screen TV and dining table, funtastic!! Loved this place so much we booked it next year for 6 weeks!! Really appreciated the owner and property manager, Turiya, they are great people, thank you.

Wonderful Property and Location

This home is in a perfect location. We walked or rode our bikes to all the nearby beaches, restaurants, shopping, and trails. The home and view is beautiful. Nice grass area in the backyard, killer grill, and the beautiful views. We highly recommend this vacation home, even our three teenagers/young adults were impressed. The ping pong table was definitely used and enjoyed by all.

Incredible property!

Awesome views of Monterey bay. This single level home worked perfectly for our family. The property is incredible....beautiful older home with great location. Beaches and restaurants are within walking distance. With daily temperatures in the mid-60's, it was the perfect retreat from the 100 temps we've been experienceing in the Sacramento valley.

Unbelievable!

This home is truly incredible. Quiet, ample parking, super spacious, clean and well-stocked. Communication with the host was also fantastic and made for a very relaxing and comfortable stay. There is no reason to stay anywhere else!

Monterey Bay Views

We had a wonderful time at this beach house! It feels like visiting wonderful relatives at their great home on a cliff overlooking Monterey Bay. My husband and son loved surfing right there and the house accommodated a family gathering. The kitchen was filled with BBQ and cooking supples. There was a Keurig and regular coffee pot! Musicians in the family appreciated the beautiful grand piano! Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. I hope we can visit again!Thank you to the Sanfillipo family for making this incredible spot available! Oh, and the garden is lovely!!

My extended family had a wonderful stay at this home. We enjoyed the outdoor space and views of the ocean, and loved being walking distance to the beach and shops. We would recommend this house!

The family fell in love with the panoramic Oceanview when they purchased it in 1975. Located in-between Capitola Village and Pleasure Point, it was the perfect location to enjoy some of the best destinations in Santa Cruz.
