This property is located in one of the best subdivisions in Surprise called Veramonte Estates. The subdivision is about 10 years old so it has had a chance for the landscaping to mature. There are trees lining the entrance and all of the streets throughout the subdivision. As you enter there is a public park that you can have a family picnic at or play soccer. For the little ones there is a splash pool and slides and swings. The best part of this location is we are within a half mile of the Surprise Stadium where the Texas Rangers and the Kansas City Royals have spring training. Surprise has a large Tennis and Racquet complex. One of the favorite sports is Pickle Ball where they have several courts and tournaments every year. The large park area also has a pond where you and your kids can fish and chase the ducks. Lots of play ground equipment for kids to play on and if you want to rent a book or audio book the public library is right next door. Now lets talk about restaurants; there are at least 10 restaurants in less than a one mile area. The closest is a Mexican restaurant and next to that is a huge bowling alley with an area for kids (and adults) to play video and laser tag, watch sports games in the bar and eating area. The sports area has a 6' screen so you can't miss any of the action. Just in the same parking area is a BBQ rest and across the street is Native American Sports Grill several fast food such as Dunkin Donuts and Freddy's Hot Dogs. Did I mention that you can easily bike to these area as well as walk to them. There are 2 grocery stores across the street from the venues I just described, they are Fry's and Safeway and there are misc. other services in these shopping centers as well. If your in the service or retired then you'll be happy to know Luke AFB is about a 10 minute drive for you to have access to Base services. If you like to hike then the White Tank Mountains are for you and only a short drive from our home. The area abounds with things to do from shopping at Cabela's or Factory Stores to seeing a Cardinals game at the stadium. Phoenix International Raceway is where NASCAR has several races each year and is less than 45 minutes from our home. One place our kids always liked is the Wildlife World Zoo which has a great BBQ Restaurant called Dillion's that will allow you to have great food after seeing all the animals its only a 10 minute drive.
Our home is a 2065 sf 4 bedroom 2 bath home that has a western style décor. There is parking for one vehicle in the garage. We have a lovely patio with an abundance of vegetation such as lemon and lime trees to decorative shrubs and lots of birds. This helps to keep the home cool and makes it enjoyable to sit outside and BBQ something on the gas grill. Inside the home there is a large master bedroom with a shower and spa sized tub. The bedroom has a bay window and its nice to have coffee in the morning and look through the plantation shutters at the birds walking on the fence line. We have a well stocked home and you should be able to make most any meal you want with the seasonings and cooking ware in the kitchen. We have a large living room and an equally large family room. There are 3 TV's in home, one in the l/r, one in master and one in the second bedroom. The third bedroom has a futon and can sleep 1 adult or 2 kids comfortably. The 4th bedroom is used as an office but could be used as a bedroom with an air mattress. The home is well laid out and decorated to make you fell comfortable. We have WiFi from Century Link and Satellite TV from Dish TV.
Now about your Hosts: We are both retired and our original home states are Iowa and Nebraska so we have a rural cultural background. Both our families were farmers. After my 4 years in the Air Force, I went to college at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. After graduation my wife, Lorene and our infant son, Patrick and I moved to Phoenix in 1971. We recently celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. We love Arizona and have lived in various cities thru out Arizona. So if you have any questions about the state I have probably traveled there. Arizona is such great state to visually see at any time of the day as the sun casts different shadows creating a constantly changing picture.
