From the communications with my host, Marco, to my arrival at the apartment, where he greeted me, to the apartment itself, and finally my departure, the experience could not have been better.
The apartment is located in Connareggio District in Venice. The first thing I learned on this, my initial trip to Venice, is that there is no bad place to stay and in fact, it’s actually nicer to stay in a quiet neighborhood than it is to stay in the most touristy areas, or on the Grand Canal, which, while it has interesting views, is never quiet.
With respect to the apartment itself, it is up a flight of narrow stairs but, once inside, it is beautifully done. It features a small kitchen and eating area, and then a large room, separated by a floor to ceiling, bookcase, with the bedroom on one side And a living area on the other. The bathroom is wonderful! Too often showers in Italy are very small, but this one was roomy and luxurious! The apartment was well stocked with the basics.
The neighborhood was very quiet, about a 20-minute walk from the train station, and using Google maps, it was pretty easy to navigate around.
I could not recommend this property more highly for a couple or a solo traveler, which is what I was.
