Bear Creek Lodge is absolutely one of the best bargains for group lodging in the Smokies! With rates starting at $250 per night (three-night minimum*), we make visiting the Smokies affordable! Whether planning a family reunion, private wedding party, church outing, or a family vacation to the Smokies, our private lodge has it all and will easily accommodate up to 17 guests!

Bear Creek is centrally located, only two-point-nine miles from the main parkway (441 in Pigeon Forge - traffic light number three - Wears Valley Road), and is easily accessible to the trolley running nearby.

There are seven TVs, plus, DVDs and VCRs.

Bear Creek Lodge features five bedrooms (one king and four queens) plus an additional open loft king-size bedroom with cathedral ceiling for 6th bedroom. Retreat to the screened in porch for a bubbly hot tub massage or escape to one of two back decks and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature as dusk encloses and fireflies and 'critters' visit the gentle stream below. Enjoy cooking outside on the charcoal grill and dine underneath the stars as the cool evening breezes engulf you with their calming effects. For those who prefer indoor dining, our fully-furnished kitchen will please even the most demanding chef. There is adequate seating for indoor dining for up to approximately 13-17 people.

Damage deposit is secured by charge card, same procedure most standard hotels use. Prices do not include tax. A 3-night minimum is required although 2-nights are considered for a higher rate depending on availability and time frame.

About Karen

I'm Karen & worked as a LA teacher before coming on board as an educational diagnostician (assessing children for special needs). I resigned my LA position June 2012, and as of August 2012, I am now teaching a special needs class in nearby MS. My husband, Donald, is a retired security officer from a LA state inmate facility. He and I have owned rental property for the past 25 years and we renovate our own properties. We renovated a house in MS a couple blocks from the Gulf which Katrina claimed in 2005. We looked on the bright side and bought a house in Pigeon Forge 2006: Bear Creek Lodge. We are building back on our lot in Bay St. Louis, MS, so remember us if you are planning a trip to the mountains or to the beach. We are blessed to live on LA/MS line where we can go back & forth for important things: LA: grandchildren and church; MS: beach and school children. The most important things in our lives are God, our children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Karen purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Karen chose Pigeon Forge

I feel the presence of God daily, but when I take a scenic ride through Smokey Mt. National Park or Cades Cove, I think of how great my God must be that He spoke this existence into place. I've vacationed here for many years and owning a piece of property here was a far-away dream, but God made it a reality in 2006. He gave me a piece of the mountain. We invite you, our family and friends, to visit and enjoy a piece of the treasure with us. We want to share!

What makes this cabin unique

The real estate agent took us to look at many homes. Some had the great rolling view, but being from LA, the roads to access some of the properties were way too steep and curvy for me. Then, we saw Bear Creek Lodge. It was easily accessible and had a slow ascension--not the steep, curvy roads. Bear Creek Lodge didn't have the rolling view, but the traditional mountain view from the 2 back decks was awesome. It was a breath-taking mountain view looking down the side of the mountain. We could glance the small branch/creek flowing near the bottom and we could hear it, but it wasn't accessible. After purchase, the first thing we did was pay someone to clear enough of the underbrush to make the creek visible. My husband and some help then built over 100 steps leading down to the creek. Today, it's now a traditional mountain scene that one would see on a long mountain hike, but instead of the hike, at Bear Creek Lodge, all one has to do is walk/climb the steps. Guests have shared with me their experiences of walking down the many steps to the creek and countless children have played near the stream.

The inside of the cabin is spacious and offers privacy for families to stay together under 1 roof and still depart on speaking terms: 3 floors with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath on each floor, affording privacy to everyone.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Karen I want to thank you for letting us rent your beautiful cabin and making our weekend enjoyable.Itried to leave a review but for some reason the website wouldnt post it. I am going to copy and paste what I put on the review for you to see. Thanks again.

Our stay couldnt have been more wonderful.Upon our arrival we met the cleaning lady and she told us that she had flip[ped five cabins that day and it would be a while before we could settle in. We asked if we could just come in and watch the UK vs Louisville basketball game since it came on at 4pm and that was also checkin time. She was so greatful to let us enjoy the game as she finished up the cabin. My wife turned 40 that weekend and we also got to spend new years in the smokies. We had so much fun staying in the cabin for those three days and there wasnt anything that we wanted for. The cabin was very roomy and updated. It had all the necessities that one could ask for.I would recommend this cabin to any one that wanted to stay in the pigeon forge area. The owner Karen was such a great help when deciding on where to stay and the payment plan worked out just great. Thanks Karen and the cleaning lady for making our weekend so enjoyable.

Awesome stay!

  • 5 of 5

Karen, everything was perfect as usual! We love our home away from home each June with the teens from our church! We found everything comfortable and inviting. We cannot wait until next year!

Owner's Response: I was going to look up the dates to find who was leaving this review, but then saw "teens of the church" and "last year"... I figured out it was Melissa. Thank you so much for staying with us at Bear Creek Lodge. You have become more friends than guests! Hope to hear from you again soon!

Great Value and a Wonderful location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay here. The furniture is a bit dated and worn, the mattresses were a bit soft; but the kitchen was very well staffed and the home was clean. It was perfect for the size of our group! We definitely would stay here again!

Nice cabin

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was very clean. The furniture was a little out dated. The pool table and pool sticks needed to be repaired; we went out to buy tips for the pool sticks because my family loves to shoot pool. Over all the cabin was great. It had everything we needed in the kitchen. I would recommend and would stay again.

Would not recommend this particular cabin for rental!

  • 1 of 5

The mattresses were coiled mattresses and needed to be replaced, my daughter who suffers from RA found these mattresses not good for her condition, also my grandson left after the first nite for the same reason. Handles on refrigerator was loose and also on the cabinets, lights in bedroom and bathrooms were dirty and one did not work, dishwasher soap dispensers were broken and on two occasions the water ran out in the floor, lucky we were there when this happened, sinks in lower bathroom leaked. This cabin needed maintenance BADLY!

Owner's Response: I'm sorry Bear Creek Lodge didn't meet your expectations, but in all fairness, most sofa bed sleepers aren't as comfortable as regular beds(relating back to text you had sent to me regarding the sofa sleepers). I'm not sure how many guests you ended up having, but I do try to be honest and make guests aware, if all beds including sofa beds are utilized, 17 people in the cabin does make it a little comfy for some folks and a little crowded for others. And, I don't doubt the fridge handle nor cabinet handles become loose from time to time. BCL stays filled and we continually welcome guests in and out...making for lots of daily use and sometimes knobs do become loosened. I can't deny that, although we do try to keep those tightened. I tightened the fridge handle myself when I was there immediately after your stay. There was a small screwdriver in drawer next to fridge and it took me about 3 minutes to tighten it. I didn't see loose cabinet knobs, although there could have been some. The one light that did not work...yes mam, it was probably a blown bulb. We do strive to keep bulbs changed, but similar to my own home, sometimes a bulb blows and isn't replaced immediately...sometimes just a mere oversight on the part of the cleaning ladies. The leaks: thanks for letting me know. I wish I could have read your review earlier. During your stay, we did find leakage all the way through from the ground floor down to the basement. We couldn't figure out how this happened. I called the plumber for a service call and he didn't see any source of leakage, but neither of us thought of checking out the dishwasher soap dispensers. I don't have a clue how soap dispensers can cause a leak, but evidently yall experienced a great big leak, bc it leaked down into basement ceiling. We had to scrap a portion of the ceiling paint and repaint after your stay. The lower bathroom sink: the plumber saw no leakage at all although leaks do occur from time to time. To you and all guest, we do appreciate your feedback so we can continually make corrections, repairs, improvements; always striving to make Bear Creek Lodge a better place to stay. Thank you for staying with us, for your feedback, and I'm hoping you and your family made many lasting memories while staying in the Great Smokey Mountains of TN. Karen
