About Pam Page Carpenter, Ph.D.-Host
I am a native of Garner, NC. Garner has the feel of a small town, great communities and people (Garner-known for Scotty McCreery) yet close to universities and the city. It's the best of both worlds. My Dad was an advocate for saving green space and farms so he purchased this land to save it from future development. My husband Don and I look forward to being your hosts for your stay and want to ensure that you enjoy your visit. We created this dog friendly space since we travel with our dogs and always look for homes with a fenced in yard, safe community, and comfort.
Why Pam Page Carpenter, Ph.D.-Host chose Raleigh
The land was granted by the King of England to a local family so the story goes. The majority of this land was where Black Angus cows were raised and roamed the acres of pasture. The back section of the community next door is where tobacco was raised. This was a large working farm back in its day.
What makes this House unique
Eco-friendly with bamboo floors, no VOC paint, raised dog beds and bowls await your four-legged family members. New appliances-washer/dryer, refrigerator, stove/oven Dog-friendly with fully fenced in yard Rural setting yet close to small towns (Garner, Clayton, Fuquay) and downtown Raleigh Eleven (11) miles to NC State Close to restaurants, shopping, and dog friendly places Lake Benson Park is a short drive from the bungalow for your four legged family members and you to explore There's always something to do whether it's kayaking on the lake or down the river, hiking, festivals, exploring historic sites, brewery and winery tours-this area has an abundance of things to do and see.

Rural setting yet close to everything. A must stay if your co-pilot is a canine!
Yep, we travel with our dogs and staying here at the bungalow is SO MUCH nicer than staying at a hotel. With plenty of room for everything, this bungalow makes a great "home away from home." The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The location is very nice and close to areas with shopping and dining options. This was our second visit and we plan to return again. Thank you!
We spent two wonderful weeks at Pam’s bungalow.
It was perfect for my wife and I and our lab Peachy. The house and the yard was very clean and well kept. We appreciated Pam leaving the outside light on and unlocking the front door as we came in late. When we went in we found Pam had left some dog treats for Peachy. That was very thoughtful. Peachy enjoyed the fenced in yard and also enjoyed just laying on the deck for hours.
There was a park 4 miles away that she loved to walk and we did too. The bungalow is close to everything in Raleigh. Not more than about a half hour or so away. There are quite a few restaurants nearby, as well as grocery, pharmacies, clothing stores, and even a Bass Pro Shop. Also Crabtree Mall in Raleigh is only about a half hour away, and they have most everything you would want there. My son and I were able to play golf nearby at Reedy Creek which was very good, but also got out to Pinehurst No.1 which was about 70 minutes away. There’s movie theaters nearby too. A special treat was a free blue grass concert at Lorraine’s Coffee House about 15 minutes away. Good coffee and Ice Cream too. It was a great trip for us and we would definitely go back to the bungalow. We highly recommend it.
Thank you for being our guests at the bungalow and we're glad you enjoyed it. We like to ensure that our human and dog guests are comfortable and happy. We appreciate you taking the time to write a review for the bungalow.
We really enjoyed our visit. The bungalow was very nice. We would definitely recommend it. Cindy, Art and Gibson.
Lovely home that is perfect for your family and pets
Pam was a wonderful host and responded very quickly to my questions. The home had everything We needed to enjoy our stay and feel like we were at home. Loved the fence for our dog to go outside. The host added so many personal touches for our comfort. Easy to find on our GPS. Pam is very environmentally conscious with all her “green” products. This home is definitely a five star.
Perfect for us and our dog
This was a perfect place for us to stay during our week in Raleigh. It’s 15 minutes from downtown. The fenced-in yard was perfect for our active dog. The hosts were kind and quick to respond to any questions.
We will absolutely try to stay here during our next visit!
Perfect for guests with dogs
We loved our stay! Two couples and two dogs stayed for 8 days, and the dogs had a blast in the spacious fenced yard. The scenery is lovely, and we appreciated the nice little touches like a water cooler, basic kitchen staples, and supplies like soap and detergent. Our host Pam was very understanding when one dog damaged the door frame; we only paid a very reasonable fee to repair the damage.
Thank you for staying at the bungalow and glad you all enjoyed your stay in Raleigh! I greatly appreciate you letting me know about the door so we could schedule repair. Thanks for the review.
There are multiple parks and greenways a short drive away. Ask your host about massage therapists for humans and dogs, yoga studios, wine tastings, food truck rodeos and other events.
