Villa Kraus is an historic residency built in the 11th Century and located on the beautiful hill of Fiesole, Florence Tuscany.
Elegant and refined in many details, with halls and frescoed ceilings, the Villa has been the house where Michelangelo Buonarroti's mother Francesca grew up.
In the courtyard of the Villa you can admire a plaque documenting the residence of Francesca, mother of the Divine Michelangelo.

Absolutely stunning and beautiful villa! Enjoyed every minute. Caterina met us and showed us around and introduced us to the lovely property. She was great at communicating with us any time we had any questions. Beautiful rooms and comfy beds. The view is amazing and we spent a lot of time admiring it. Highly recommend!

Our stay was amazing!!!! The views were so beautiful!!!! We can’t say that enough! Our hosts, Caterina and her Mother, were very welcoming and so wonderful & sweet!!! Highly recommend this villa!!! Our family had a wonderful experience!! Many thank you’s to our hosts!!!! Grazie milli!!!

Upon arrival we were greeted by Caterina who took us on a tour of the Villa. The views were stunning and the Villa was beautifully decorated. We were visiting as a multigenerational family of 9 and there was plenty of space and accommodations for everyone. The Villa was an easy walk to Fiesole and there was a bus stop very close to by to take us into Florence. Caterina was available throughout the entire stay if we needed anything. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend this Villa.

The house is beautiful and filled with antiques. Kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and cooking utensils. The house is on a mountainside offering beautiful views of Florence and the Duomo. The garden was beautiful and peaceful. Proximity to Florence is good. The house has space to park several cars. Cate and Lucia our hosts, were very friendly. Although there were a couple of language barrier issues. However, there were issues that did not coincide with the property description.There was a/c in the bedrooms only. The pool is very small, above ground, approx 11'X6' and 2' deep. There is no hot tub. We had a water pressure problem 5 out of the 7 days. Several mornings we had no water. There was a city wide black out one of the nights for 4 hours. We had no electricity in half the house for a day due to a faulty breaker. It was tough to walk to a town to get coffee or dinner because there were only partial sidewalks on the curvy road leading up to Fiesole.

We are delighted that you appreciated the house, its antique character, the peaceful garden, the views over Florence, and the hospitality of Cate and Lucia. We are sorry that your stay was affected by some unexpected issues. During your visit, Italy experienced an exceptional heatwave that caused widespread disruptions to the electricity and water supply in many areas, including ours. Unfortunately, these interruptions were beyond our control. The extreme temperatures also caused a circuit breaker to fail, which temporarily affected part of the house. As soon as we became aware of the problem, we arranged for it to be repaired as quickly as possible. We would also like to clarify that our listing does not advertise a swimming pool or a hot tub. The property features a 6-meter plunge pool, as shown in the photos and described in the listing. It is designed for cooling off and relaxing, and it includes hydromassage jets. Finally, the air conditioning is available in the bedrooms, exactly as described in the listing. We truly appreciate your comments and are pleased that, despite these exceptional circumstances, you were able to enjoy the beauty of the property and its unique location.
