I am a native New Orleanian, with French Louisiana heritage that dates back to 1720--that's before the Louisiana Purchase! I have lived here my entire life, except for a few years when I lived in San Francisco and when I worked in national parks. My love for this city runs deep--there's truly nowhere else like it. My hometown's unique culture, art, and architecture is a rich source of inspiration for me as a designer.
My fiancé Tom made New Orleans his home 17 years ago, and around here that qualifies him as a "local." Tom is the owner/creative director of one of the most authentic live local music clubs in New Orleans, called D.B.A., which is located on world-famous Frenchmen St. If you love experiencing live local and regional music, you should definitely check out D.B.A. We'd be happy to treat all guests staying at our apartment (adults age 21+ only) to one free show per booking.
We both love music, art, and food, and we love celebrating the unique cultures and traditions of New Orleans and Louisiana. Did I mention FOOD?! New Orleans has world-class cuisine at every price level. Just let us know what you're looking for, and we'll be happy to offer suggestions, as we strive to make your visit to New Orleans an unforgettable one!

Comfortable, clean and great host!
Wendy's house was perfect for our visit to New Orleans. The location is quiet but close to Tulane, restaurants and the streetcar. The house is well appointed, very clean and comfortable. We really appreciated the extra touches such as snacks and everything we needed for fixing a hot breakfast. She could not be a more considerate host and we would definitely stay there again.
Excellent location, beautiful home, spectacular hosts!
Wendy’s and Tom’s (and Violet’s)home is perfect for a family vacation. It easily accommodated our three adult sons and us, and was stocked with everything you could need (even breakfast for the first morning). Walking distance to the street car and cute restaraunts, as well as an easy uber to the French Quarter. Great for running as there is a beautiful park nearby. Wendy and Tom were so helpful and kind, and had excellent recommendations. Don’t miss dba!!! Thanks for a fabulous stay. See you next year.
Thank you Eileen!! We really enjoyed meeting and chatting with you all! We're so glad you enjoyed our home and neighborhood, and the break from the snowy weather back home. You and your family are welcome back any time--we'd love to host you again!
A beautiful home away from home
This property is clean and well stocked. It is beautifully decorated with NOLA theme. So, It felt like a vacation yet felt like home through our 5 day stay.
The owner's attention to detail is evident. There were breakfast essential and snacks available such as voodoo potato chips, check mix, snack bars, eggs, milk, cheese, coffee and tea. The kitchen is a functional kitchen with quality pots and pan for ease of cooking. The beds are comfortable and towels luxurious. They have high quality toiletries in each bathrooms.
Wendy was always available for questions and help. Thank for being accommodating and providing such a comfortable home. We had fun in NOLA. Let the good time roll!
Yvonne, thank you for treating our home so well, and for being awesome guests. We appreciate great guests like you, and would be happy to host you again when you return to New Orleans. :)
Very comfortable, good location
My sisters and niece met in NOLA from our homes in different parts of the country. We love being together but all need our own space. This place was perfect. We could join around the big dining room table to talk and hang out, play games, do some work. Or we could retreat to our rooms when we needed some privacy.
The house is well stocked with amenities. We took a cooking class and found the utensils and pots and pans needed to try out the gumbo recipe. The kitchen is small, but functional.
The neighborhood has some nice restaurants, coffee shops, etc. nearby that were great. It's also just blocks away from the streetcar, which we took a few times to the French Quarter.
It was unseasonably cold when we were here (in the 30s). We would have loved to hang out on the lovely screened in porch.
Thank you Lisa!! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at our home while spending a nice family trip in this wonderful city. I hope you all come back when the weather isn't so unusually cold so you can enjoy the nice porch!
Perfect for us!
We went down for New Years and the Sugar Bowl. We had a great experience. It was in a great location for us. It wasn’t crowded around our area, but we were just a short walk from the street car. We ended up getting a taxi the night of the game because it was so cold and crowded around the dome, but the taxi ride was very affordable too. I would definitely stay here again. There were 7 of us and we had plenty of room for everyone! Thanks again, Wendy!
Thank you Brittany!! You all were ideal guests, and we do appreciate it. We're glad you all had such a great experience, plus a victory in the Superdome! Please do come back and stay with us! :)
Riverbend is a Gem
This is a terrific property. It is comfortable and well maintained. The neighborhood is quiet. The location is convenient to so many of the New Orleans attractions. Only a couple of blocks from Oak Street, the trolley to the warehouse district, the Quarter, Tulane and Loyola, and close to fun food on Maple Street and Ferret. Its also convenient to several of the hospitals. Wendy is a great hostess. We could not have been happier here.
