Class and comfort
We just stayed at this property and I can't express how happy we were. The location is great close enough to the main tourist areas and far enough to not hear or deal with the craziness of Bourbon Street. The building is so cool and the apartment is gorgeous. We needed nothing because everything we could possibly need is there and it was clean and comfortable. Everything is updated with so a rustic and classy style we loved it! When I needed to speak or email the property manager they exceeded my expectations with their service and accommodation. I would 1000% recommend this The Marie Laveau you will not be disappointed. Best part everything look just like the picture maybe even better in person.
Better than a 5 star hotel
This place is awesome. Classy, well built, quiet, tasteful. I'm a contractor and rehab historic buildings and this one was done with great care. Truly a special place, great location, owners and managers are really laid back and make everything real easy. We didn't want to leave, and can't wait to get back.
Everything was absolutely perfect! Clean, beautiful high end appointments, comfortable bedding, and walking distance to everything! Highly recommended!
Beautiful comfortable condo, with small, easily-addressed issues
This condo is gorgeous and comfy and a short walk/Uber to the French Quarter. It's convenient to the Convention Center and has some good restaurants in walking distance. The decor is wonderful - I felt like I was in an upscale contemporary apartment, much better than any hotel room. The living room has big windows that open and let a ton of light in. The keyless entry was convenient and the building feels secure, clean, and modern. There's free laundry down the hall, and though I never used it, I was super excited to know I had that at my disposal if I needed it. The kitchen was well-stocked, and they provide ample amounts of soap, shampoos, and other conveniences. The plates and utensils were of good quality. The towels were really thick and plentiful. The oven, microwave and toaster all worked well (I used them all!)
There are some improvements that could be made, I think all easy fixes.
1) The water line isn't hooked up to the fridge, so no ice or water. I just bought bottled water and kept my drinks in the fridge and that solved that, but would be nice to have that hookup.
2) The place has ants - the little tiny black kind. I found them in nearly every room. The largest community travels in a line from the living room tv toward the windows, and I often found them in the kitchen sink and on the bathroom floor. I never found any in my luggage or on me, but I didn't love that they were sharing my space with me.
3) The bathrooms are modern and feel great, but the showers have no door, which is the new trend. As a result, you will soak the bathroom floor when you take a shower. If you have the bath mat waiting for you outside the shower, it will become soaked and it will never dry unless you take it to the laundry room.
4) To continue from #3, they need hooks in the bathrooms so towels can be hung. I ended up hanging my towels and washcloths over the top of the door to let them dry, but hooks would have been nice and would probably help to protect the wood.
Lastly, and nothing they can do about this, but the living room can be very noisy. It's pleasant city noise until the streetcar passes, and when it does, you won't even be able to hear the tv. Not a deal-breaker, just good to know.
I would definitely return to this unit, assuming the ants were handled.
Beautiful, comfortable, and clean!
We had a great stay at the Marie Laveau! The apartment was beautiful and very clean. The building was just as nice and we loved the location. Very walkable!
We had a great time staying at this property! It was beautiful and Yaneri was very helpful! The only downfall is they list the couch as a 5th space to sleep but the trolley runs all night and is extremely loud if you are sleeping there. It makes it very hard to sleep. I suggest only 4 people stay here. Also the water & ice in fridge didn’t work. Overall though the experience was great and we definitely recommend it!!
