Family friendly, sleeps up to 6 with a queen size semi-private bedroom with adjoining double bedroom, foldout double futon and large window seats create a very cozy space. Heavy cloth curtains seperate bedrooms, no door to bedroom. Cable TV, WiFi and Antique & contemporary furnishings and local artwork give Nichols Street Suites a feeling of home...Check it Out... Very cute place. Easy walking to all the shops in down town. 10 minute walk if you can fly into Friday Harbor Airport (KFHR). There wasn't AC but there were plenty of fans to cool down at night.

The suite was perfect for our trip. It was centrally located for walking to restaurants and shops, as well as the marina. It was clean, well stocked with more than enough. And plenty of comfy sleeping choices. All in all, we would definitely recommend this place and we would stay here again.

Really great location just a couple blocks from the ferry. It’s a unique place with unique charm. We also found it peaceful while being in the middle of town. We will certainly be back in the future!

Granddaughter’ s graduation trip

We wanted to share this special island with our granddaughter as part of her High School Graduation Trip. This is one of our favorite places to stay on Friday Harbor, it’s a well kept secret! It’s super clean, comfortable and convenient to everything!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The location was excellent. We were just a five-minute stroll from the ferry terminal, with plenty of restaurants & shops nearby.The house was clean, and the beds were comfortable. It was quite warm during our stay, and the house did get a little stuffy, but the provided fans helped cool the space adequately.One thing that was a little difficult to tell from the photos is that the bathroom is an ensuite to one of the bedrooms. This wasn't a big deal for us traveling as a family, but it could be somewhat awkward for guests needing to walk through an occupied bedroom of a friend to access the bathroom.Communication with the host could have been better. I messaged through the app 3 times without receiving a response. When the host called with the check-in instructions, I mentioned that I had already sent our arrival time, but she said she hadn't seen the message, even though it had been sent about two hours earlier. There were no check out instructions in the home and we left before the shop opened, my message about leaving the keys went unanswered, so we made a guess on what to do. Fortunately, we didn't have any urgent needs during our stay, as this could have been problematic if we had.The kitchen could also have been a little better stocked. For example, there were no oven mitts or hot pads, no wine opener, and the one ice tray provided was quite cracked.Despite these issues, we enjoyed our stay overall, and would likely stay again.

Michael and Annie are longtime residents of Friday Harbor. We both have a history of commercial fishing in Alaska where we met in Sitka. Michael is from Massachusetts and Annie is the rare true Washingtonian who grew up in the Seattle area. Her family has been a part of the island since the 40's...Annie's interests are plein-aire painting, painting workshops, and furnishes Nichols Street Suites with her paintings. Michael is a long time musician who builds guitars in his spare time and is also fond motorcycles and Studebaker cars. We are avid antique lovers and have owned Funk & Junk Antiques for + 30 years. Our shop is below Nichols Street Suites and is a full service antique shop offering appraisals and estate services. We have one son Avery who is a chef on Orcas Island. He is also a fine musician. We are part of the larger Friday Harbor Community and love where we live! see us!
