Can't thank you enough. We had an amazing time. Your place can't be worded enough to make someone see how astonishing things are here. Everything from your very nice neighbors to the way the house is so articulate. The scenery is to die for! I can go on and on..and still not be able to thank you enough!
I loved this place from the minute I walked in the door. Mary had started a fire in the wood burning stove prior to our arrival which gave us a really warm welcome (literally). Four of us stayed for the weekend and had plenty of room. Having the hot tub to relax in was great. We took advantage of the grill and screened in porch for our dinners. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the cookware, utensils and dishes we needed for our entire stay. The fire pit was perfect and had plenty of seating for all of us plus Mary left us plenty of wood to keep the fires going. We needed a quiet place close to Knoeble's Amusement park and this was perfect. Mary made booking the cottage really easy and she was easy to get in touch with if we had needed anything. I would and have already recommended this place to other people.
Mary's Ivy Cabin is superb! Even though we contacted her just a week before, Mary was happy to fit us in, and we are so glad she did. When you walk into a new rental house there's always the "oh no, what am I getting into..." moment, but as soon as we turned on the lights we were thrilled! The cabin is adorable, mostly one giant room with a large, comfortable sitting area, a well-appointed little kitchen, a dining table, and a perfect little pot-bellied wood stove in the middle to keep the place cozy. Mary supplied us with a huge bin of lovely smelling wood to burn, and we spent Friday and Saturday nights alternating between chatting in the 2 rocking chairs in front of the fire, and chatting in the giant, clean/new hot tub on the porch. The hot tub looks over the stream, and it's really perfectly situated. The cabin is at the end of a dead-end road with just one house nearby, on the other side of the house from the hot tub/deck, so it feels very private and peaceful. The stream is lovely and loud and beautiful, we walked along it quite a ways and even found a treehouse! We loved turning the hot tub jets off to listen to nature for a while -- then turning the jets and laptop back on to revel in human technology. :) The one bedroom is cute, with a comfy full-sized bed, and there is a big loft for kids or a second couple! The whole place is beautifully decorated with art from various cultures and lots of plants. The bathroom is fine, it did seem to get a bit of septic smell occasionally so we kept the door closed -- consider bringing a scented candle or two for the bathroom + bedroom since they are right next to each other. That is the only concern of any kind we had at Mary's beautiful Ivy Cottage. It was easy getting in, cleaning up, and a wonderful place to stay. Mary is very sweet and acommodating and was easy to communicate with. I already look forward to going back next time we need a quiet nature weekend - with a hot tub!
My husband and I were looking for a place to spend Thanksgiving weekend, and this spot was perfect! We wanted a quiet spot, in the middle of nowhere, no tv, no Internet, and a hot tub to relax in. Ivy Cottage had all of this and more! We loved the towns nearby, hiking, and even walking around the property. The creek was beautiful, the drive there was beautiful. We had breakfast on the porch, cooked pot pie for dinner, then relaxed in the hot tub at night. The hot tub was very clean and seemed new. We had a little fire in the wood stove, and played jenga at night. I imagine it would be nice here as well in the summer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay even in cold months. Loved this place and the location. I would stay again in a heartbeat. :)
My daughters and I, and close friends of ours, spent our 2015 summer vacation at Ivy Cottage and going to Knoebels. When we arrived at Ivy Cottage, the beauty of the property was breathtaking. The cottage is located directly on the river, and it was everything we had hoped it would be when we viewed this cottage for rent on VRBO. When you walk in, you are surrounded by wood. The loft is awesome, my daughters and their friends spent all their free time up there talking, bonding and laughing. The screened in porch is wonderful, you can eat outside but be safe from flying insects, and be able to listen to the rushing river. The hot tub is new and pretty and feels great after a long day of riding rides at Knoebels. Knoebels is less than 10 minutes away from Ivy Cottage, and very convenient to town, only a few minutes ride. The cottage is located on an extremely quiet gravel road, and we took long walks to listen to the birds, photograph the wild flowers and sit and watch the river. We walked for an hour and never heard or saw a car. If you want absolute quiet, away from the hectic world, this is the place to go. Ivy Cottage has no tv, no wifi and we loved every second of being "off line" for a week. We didn't want to return to our normal world after staying at Ivy Cottage, we all wanted to live here forever, to enjoy the solitude and family bonding. There is a perfect fire pit for making smores, which we did several nights, and enjoyed the "billion stars" view above. Mary the owner is awesome, so nice and we were honored to stay in her cottage for our vacation. We will definitely be coming back to Ivy Cottage for another vacation, not soon enough for us. We recommend Ivy Cottage to everyone who wants to go to Knoebels, or go offline for a while, or just get away for family time.
We recently stayed here and my goddess word's cannot explain my love for the ivy cottage. peaceful, beautiful, simple yet modern and we loved every second of it thanks mary!!
My husband and I stayed here for our first wedding anniversary and we loved it! The cottage has such beauty and charm. Mary did a great job of providing a place with many basic modern amenities while maintaining the cottage character and charm. The property itself is gorgeous and serene. We plan to go back!
