Roomy inside & out.

Great location and beautiful house

Away from the crowds in town yet easy to travel to all the great sites, restaurants and parks. One of the best equipped kitchens of all the VBROs we have stayed at. Enjoyed the preserve right across the road as well as the trails on the property. Spent down time on the porch with our dog.

Great place!

We had a wonderful time at the cabin! All was clean and tidy when we arrived, and everything looked like the pictures online. Becky was very friendly and easy to communicate with when I had a question. I loved that it was secluded yet close to Egg Harbor. I would highly recommend the Boyer Cabin!

Cozy and secluded

Great cabin with plenty of space for all of us to do our own thing and/or be together. Can only imagine how beautiful the property is in the fall. Only feedback might be to have a hot tub to sit in while enjoying the abundance of nature surrounding the cabin.

Beautiful Cabin!

The Boyer Log Cabin was perfect for our stay in Door County. The location is wonderful. Just a few minutes to downtown Egg Harbor -- but it feels like a million miles away. Gorgeous cabin and property. Immaculately clean, well-stocked and a perfect place to return after a busy day of DC activities. I would highly recommend this property!

Great Stay!

We enjoyed our stay at the Boyer cabin. It’s a great location that is close to the towns, but provides a place to go back and relax. There were lots of games and area to spread out. My kids are begging me to get a chess table like the one at the cabin. Becky was also very responsive with any questions. We’d definitely stay here again!

Much needed Door County retreat

Myself, husband, two kids, and my parents had a wonderful getaway to this great property. We enjoyed walking the trails each morning, and exploring Door County during the day, having a nice and cozy cabin to retreat to at night. The cabin was the perfect size for our group. I love that there is a bathroom located on each floor. It was easy to access but far enough away from the main stretch. Thanks for an amazing stay!

Wonderful Memories

Becky was wonderful. Very responsive. The property had all the amenities you needed to enjoy a very relaxing gathering with family. The trails were used frequently for walks throughout the day. Made a family vacation very enjoyable and memorable.

This cabin was everything we hoped for and more—it’s exactly as pictured and described! The location is absolutely perfect for hiking and wildlife spotting, and our dog was in heaven exploring both the trails on the property and the land trust trails right across the street. We spotted deer, frogs, groundhogs, moles, geese, sandhill cranes, and even a snake I decided to name Veronica (she was very photogenic). Pro tip: bring bug spray if you plan on venturing into the woods!The beds were wonderfully comfy, the A/C was ice cold, and the layout—with a bedroom and bathroom on each floor—was ideal for giving everyone their own little retreat. Just keep in mind, stairs are a must to access the main level, so make sure your group is good with that.Everything was spotless when we arrived, which instantly made me feel at home and relaxed. My family loved sitting outside by the fire at night, roasting marshmallows, swapping scary stories, and playing endless rounds of Uno at the dining room table. I loved sitting on the back porch reading my book! Communication with the host, Becky, was a dream—she’s quick to respond and so helpful. I’d recommend this cabin to anyone, and I can only imagine how magical it must be in the winter months! We didn’t get to use the fireplace in early August, but I bet it’s the coziest place ever come fall and winter.Five stars all the way!

Warm touch of home surrounded by beautiful trees

The inside of this cabin is breathtaking! There are a lot of windows to look out and enjoy the sun shining in. We lost track how many hikes we took .... we loved the seclusion. Thank you!

Log cabin

Beautiful area and unfortunately due to weather did not get to do hiking as we planned. We did enjoy the fireplace both inside and out. I would recommend updating lighting in the living room for those wanting early morning or late night reading.

Family vacation

I drove up from Florida and wanted a Door County getaway with my Wisconsin family. This beautiful 3 bedroom/3 bathroom log cabin was perfect. Each of my 4 siblings and spouses spent two nights with me, which allowed more quality time than if everyone came at once as I had initially planned. The hosts were very responsive and we enjoyed walking the trails with my mini Aussie. We will be back :)

Family fun holiday get away!

This was our second year spending Christmas at the cabin. Wonderful location with lots of hiking trails and outdoor bonfires right there on the property. Very clean cabin with everything you need-great layout for everyone to hang out together and also have some privacy/quiet time from your family. We love having the fireplace and a big family space-really great space for cooking inside or grilling outside celebrating the holiday & watching the Packer game & watching some movies. Becky is easily to reach if you have any questions, when we had a big snowstorm they had someone promptly come out and plow the driveway, very approachable and friendly. We will definitely be back again.

Beautiful home

This house is incredible. Beautiful log home (a log cabin on steroids) with lots of space, super comfortable and welcoming. We had a small issue after we arrived that the owner was quick to address and resolve. Wonderful secluded location that is a short car ride to all of the beautiful state parks and great restaurants and wineries that Door County offers. We lucked out with great weather all week but the home is loaded with games and videos available for a rainy day. The owner allowed us to bring our dog and we are so glad we did. Door County is very dog friendly!

About Mike and Becky
When thinking about this write up for VRBO we were surprised that our Door County story started almost 30 years ago. We first visited Door County to see about repairs for an outboard motor for an old Boston Whaler. (long story) During the brief visit we were amazed by the harbor towns, coastlines and rural open spaces. I remember saying “I thought this was only on the east coast”. Every Door County town has its own special charm and unique attractions and best of all, everything is so close that you can have a great Door County experience over a long weekend. However, there really is so much to do, without feeling rushed, we recommend at least a week stay every year for the next 30 years to fully appreciate Door County.
Our honeymoon was a 14-day trip around Lake Michigan on the same old Boston Whaler (motor repaired) our plan was to visit all the highly touted harbor towns on the Michigan side and then cross Lake Michigan, which I don’t recommend doing this in a 21-foot boat, spending the second half of our trip exploring Door County. That was only our second time in Door County, but our experience confirmed that Door County was a very special place; we found Door County exceptional. Numerous historic harbor towns in close proximity, 300 miles of varied shoreline of rock, bluff and sand, thousands of acres of State and County Parks on Lake Michigan (and Green Bay) and an iconic rural landscape.
After years of visiting Door County, we were lucky enough to find a small house in a unique location of Sturgeon Bay and have been renting this home to vacationers for over 4 years ( VRBO#505916). We have found this experience to be very positive and fulfilling by being a small part in helping people enjoy Door County. We have had such a positive experience that we decided to find exceptional homes in unique locations of Door County for vacation rentals. The Boyer Log Cabin is one of those properties (www.BoyerLogCabin).

The Boyer Log Cabin is located in rural Door County just a few brief minutes from Egg Harbor. Egg Harbor is the first harbor town after Sturgeon Bay on highway 42. It can be described as small and quaint and in our opinion, offers the best beaches on the Green Bay side. Just one block south of downtown Egg Harbor is the Village Beach that offers many amenities including an expanded playground, a small boat hand launch ramp, changing room buildings and walking paths. Another option is the Frank Murphy Park located 3 miles south. This park is 14 acres that includes a boat launch, walking path and sand beach. Egg Harbor is unique to have these two sand beaches as the Green Bay side of Door County is mainly rock shore.

This is an exceptional house in a unique location directly across from the Oak Road Nature Preserve just minutes outside the town of Egg Harbor. The Boyer Log Cabin is a newer construction Wisconsin Log Home offering 3 levels of living space, there is a bedroom and a bathroom on each level. It is a perfect option when travelling with a large family or a group because it affords a level of privacy that is not found with other vacation rentals. In addition, the outside space provides privacy from neighbors as it is set on a wooded 40-acre parcel. There are wide walking trails that meander through the hardwood forest of Sugar Maple, Beech and Birch. It’s a perfect location to explore Door County.
