CAPTAINS QUARTERS - AN ALL INCLUSIVE VACATION RENTAL LOCATED IN SOUTHERN SHORES!

Tucked away behind mature olive trees on a sandy corner lot in convenient "Southern Shores", this traditional beach box is only 300 yards or a 5 minute straight walk to the beach. Captains Quarters is 1000 square feet of practical and inviting vintage nautical charm, everything a small family needs on just one level for an affordable price. Custom tree-top decking offers private yet casual outside relaxing and dining, even a captain's look-out wth glimpses of ocean blue between rooflines. Below the cottage, thoughtful amenities include the compact carport, 2-stall beach shower, deluxe fish cleaning station with sink, full laundry, and a decked beach staging area with bench.
Guests at Captains Quarters will have private access to outstanding ocean and soundside community amenities, including a secondary "family-friendly" beach park that features ample private parking, showers & jons, picnic area & fishing pond. Our guests will also have access to a private soundside park with optimal sunset and waterfowl views, a soundside marina with boat launch, and some outstanding bike trails that network the entire area. Captains Quarters is located less than 3 miles south of the memorable destination of Duck central, home to lots of popular dining, shopping, world class spas and watersports. A lighted crosswalk at the corner of Dolphin Run provides safer access to the beach 24/7. Captains Quarters features direct property access to bike /foot paths, enabling our guests to stay as active and well connected as they want to be, yet have a central and cozy spot to retreat. Three beach comber style bikes will be available for use.
Parking in the circular drive is ample for up to three vehicles, or two with a boat trailer. The half acre property is fully naturalized, but offers a side yard space conducive to horse shoes or cornhole play.

We always enjoy our stay at Dolphin’s Run! Great location, terrific hosts, and the perfect getaway! It’s the most cozy and inviting place to enjoy some much needed downtime and family time! Our family of four had a wonderful stay at the Captain's Quarters. Comfy, clean, and lots of nice extra touches. Beach access was close (0.2 mile) and straightforward. Awesome Place to stay!

Loved it here. Don't be fooled by is vintage appearance (which was my favorite part)! I grew up on the SE coast and this house has all the original charm of the beach! Unbelievably clean and stocked out of this world! Super quick walk to the beach too, never over crowded! Highly recommend!

We all loved the house, it was homey and reminded us of our favorite aunt’s home. Very well stocked with basic necessities and ice cold water to drink upon our arrival. The only negative thing is when it rains the stairs are slick.

Cozy Clean and Close to Everything!

It was a perfect stay for my little family! Just a few minutes walk until your toes are in the sand. It was in close proximity to everything you would need… grocery store, restaurants, and surrounding towns. It also had some fun trails around that my husband and kids explored by bike and scooter. They rode to the little town of Duck one day. The place was perfectly cozy, clean, and well stocked! Communication with the owners was great. We had such a wonderful time we already booked another stay!

Family Vacation

We had a short family vacation. We enjoyed the house. There are three good-sized bedrooms, a nice living area, and a well supplied kitchen. The house is extremely clean. The house is right on Rt 12 but surrounded by trees so you don’t see the highway. The back yard is wooded and private and there are several decks. It is a very easy short walk to the beach.

Restful retreat at OBX

Absolutely wonderful and welcoming seaside home!! Very clean and comfortable environment. A short walk to the private beach, not crowded and beautiful sunsets and sunrises!! Great place to shore fish, minigolf and see the National Park’s Wright brother’s museum,,, and centrally located to great dining and shopping,,, close to Nag’s head pier!!! We had beautiful weather and sunshine every day!! Looking forward to returning next year, hopefully!! Even saw a deer in the private back yard!!

Perfect and rustic

We loved this place! It had everything we needed and then some. Quick short walk to the beach, but there's a wagon to help with the haul. Plenty of beach items (chairs, umbrella, toys, bikes, etc.). There were six of us (3 teenagers and one pre-teen) and we had plenty of space. I enjoyed my morning tea on the upper level and the porch swing was great for relaxing at night. The shower underneath was very handy for beach returns. We would definitely stay again!

Wonderful Stay!

The property was outstanding! Clean, perfect location, equipped with everything needed for our stay. They had everything you can need for a day at the beach, chairs, boogey boards, umbrella, and a wagon to haul everything. We enjoyed the bikes that were available for evening rides. We couldn't have had a better stay and the owners are fantastic to deal with. They really went out their way to make our stay perfect. The home itself was so cozy & clean, plenty if room for 6 adults. I didn't hear any complaining. We got a lot of use out their outside decks especially in the evenings. We cannot wait to visit again.
