Located a block from the Village Green and NYC bus stop, and steps from Woodstock's superb dining, shopping, art, and attractions, there's absolutely no need for a car (but plenty of off street parking space if you bring one).

Walk to one of Woodstock's many superb restaurants or late night hot spots. Take in a concert at the Colony Cafe, a performance at the Woodstock Playhouse or an independent film at Tinker Street Cinema -- all just blocks away. Hike nearby nature trails in Woodstock's Comeau Park or take a dip in the Mill Stream. Rent a bike at nearby Overlook Bikes and explore Cooper Lake, Wilson State Park or "The Big Deep" watering hole.

Or just relax in the peace and beauty of your graciously appointed private home, featuring a spacious layout, outdoor sun deck, your own private meditation room, crisp linens, an extensive library of books devoted to personal growth that will not only entertain, but inspire. This is probably my favorite stay, ever. The place just felt like home, spacious and thoughtfully arranged. Right in the center of town but quiet at night, sitting on the deck in the morning was a treat.

We visit family in the area and we have stayed here twice, now. It’s a wonderful location right in the middle of Woodstock with fantastic restaurants within walking distance. There’s a fabulous bakery across the street (Bread Alone). The apartment is right above a bookstore that the owners run. They are great people who are very responsive. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again.

The property was exactly as advertised! It was neat and clean and extremely well-organized.The property is right in downtown Woodstock near shops and restaurants. Above the Books has to be the best place to stay in Woodstock. Our hosts, Jeff and Audrey were wonderful. They were accommodating, informative, and just great to talk to. The unit was well furnished and very comfortable. Best of all was the location, within walking distance of everything. And private parking. We're already making plans to go back.

The apartment is absolutely beautiful — every detail feels thoughtfully chosen, creating a warm and welcoming space. The full kitchen has everything needed to prepare meals, and having a washer and dryer during my stay was so convenient. The location couldn’t be more perfect. I walked to town every day, and most evenings I enjoyed an easy stroll to a nearby restaurant for dinner. Jeff and Audrey were wonderful hosts, offering thoughtful suggestions for things to do that I never would have discovered on my own — the kind of hidden spots only locals know. Visiting their bookstore was another highlight and added something truly special to my trip. My time here was relaxing, comfortable, and truly enjoyable. I’m already looking forward to returning.

My friend and I had a wonderful time staying at Above the Books. It’s close to all restaurants and shops, right in the middle of town. The apartment is spacious, with a deck and the kitchen has everything you need. Jeff and Audrey are excellent hosts. We will definitely be back.

Hi. Our names are Jeff Cuiule and Audrey Cusson. In 2000, we left our lives and careers in NYC to purchase legendary Mirabai Books in Woodstock, NY -- a shop dedicated to Personal Growth, Eastern Philosophy, Metaphysics and Healing, an oasis of spiritual solace for more than 30 years.
