Walk to one of Woodstock's many superb restaurants or late night hot spots. Take in a concert at the Colony Cafe, a performance at the Woodstock Playhouse or an independent film at Tinker Street Cinema -- all just blocks away. Hike nearby nature trails in Woodstock's Comeau Park or take a dip in the Mill Stream. Rent a bike at nearby Overlook Bikes and explore Cooper Lake, Wilson State Park or "The Big Deep" watering hole.

This is probably my favorite stay, ever. The place just felt like home, spacious and thoughtfully arranged. Right in the center of town but quiet at night, sitting on the deck in the morning was a treat.

The apartment was great. Big living room, 2 bedrooms. The location was incredible, right in the heart of downtown Woodstock. Check In, Parking, etc. were fast and easy. Could not have had a better experience.

We visit family in the area and we have stayed here twice, now. It’s a wonderful location right in the middle of Woodstock with fantastic restaurants within walking distance. There’s a fabulous bakery across the street (Bread Alone). The apartment is right above a bookstore that the owners run. They are great people who are very responsive. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again.

Above the Books has to be the best place to stay in Woodstock. Our hosts, Jeff and Audrey were wonderful. They were accommodating, informative, and just great to talk to. My friend and I had a wonderful time staying at Above the Books. It’s close to all restaurants and shops, right in the middle of town. The apartment is spacious, with a deck and the kitchen has everything you need. Jeff and Audrey are excellent hosts. We will definitely be back.

Hi. Our names are Jeff Cuiule and Audrey Cusson. In 2000, we left our lives and careers in NYC to purchase legendary Mirabai Books in Woodstock, NY -- a shop dedicated to Personal Growth, Eastern Philosophy, Metaphysics and Healing, an oasis of spiritual solace for more than 30 years.

Why they chose this property

A few years ago we transformed the space above the shop (our initial home here) into a vacation retreat that we call "Above the Books". It's our hope that the space reflects the serenity and lush beauty that we've created in the store below. Woodstock is unique among small towns in its dedication to the arts, alternative thought, natural beauty and spiritual fulfillment.
