We spent nine days from the last week of October into early November staying in a great apartment at the Clarkdale Lodge. Our apartment was spacious with a very nice bathroom, a comfortable king size bed, and it was very clean and well equipped for a pleasant stay. Clarkdale is an interesting, quiet, historic, and scenic community and we enjoyed having the Clarkdale Lodge as our home base for exploring sites around the area, such as the Clarkdale Museum, Tuzigoot National Monument, Montezuma’s Well and Castle National Monuments, Jerome, Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, Prescott, and the Verde Canyon Railroad. We enjoyed walking in Upper Clarkdale, ate at several of the local restaurants, and particularly recommend breakfast at Charlotte’s which is just a couple of blocks from the Lodge. The deck of the Clarkdale Lodge is a great place to relax and watch the stars in the evening or a distant thunderstorm off to the northwest in late afternoon. The lobby has a great assortment of books and magazines to read as well as board games to play if you want a change from watching television in the evening. The owners of the Lodge were very helpful when needed and we hope to make a return visit soon. Clarkdale Lodge is a great place to stay!
