The trail crosses the lake in front of the cabin. You can access thousands of miles of groomed snowmobile trails directly from the shore. Snowmobile rentals are available locally, and some companies deliver directly to the cabin.

Bring Your Boat or Rent Nearby

Lac Courte Oreilles is a fantastic recreational lake. Its spring-fed, crystal-clear water is excellent for swimming, skiing, and fishing. The lake includes a social sandbar, shallow fishing areas, and depths of 50 to 90 feet. Several public boat launches are nearby. Power is available at the shore for boat batteries—bring an extension cord.

Dining on the Lake

Two family-owned resorts on the lake offer restaurants accessible by boat, car, or snowmobile. Trails End and Angler’s Haven are both nearby and offer great food, drinks, and live music.

Located just 8 miles south of Hayward and 140 miles northeast of the Twin Cities. Nearby attractions include downtown Hayward shops, the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, restaurants, mini-golf, the famous candy store, golf courses, LCO Casino, and Hatchery Creek Trailhead for Birkie and CAMBA access.
