In response to this ungrateful guest, we say the following. We have had years of happy guests who enthusiastically revisit our private property as we open up to people who we do not know, that become our friends. We have incredible reviews, not just on our properties but on the effort we put in to make our guests visit with us the best it can be. We disagree on the facts, narratives and responsibilities in and around this guests claims. Let me share that VRBO supported us with this complaint. VRBO agreed that our description of the barn/stable accommodation was correct and not misleading in anyway. VRBO also said this situation does not require a refund at all. We offered her another accommodation here on the property that was far from the horses, she refused. We offered to have her return in the fall to enjoy the colors on the trees, she refused. We still sent a partial refund to this guest despite of her refusal to work with us fairly, regardless VRBO's agreement with us, and regardless of the nonstop texts and threats from this guest. This guest complaints shifted and changed throughout this horrible experience for us. The bottom line is that she did not like being up in the countryside which was admitted. Nor did she ask qualifying questions for additional information on the phone conversation we had the night before her arrival, where we laid out even more pertinent information. We are extremely proud of this accommodation, have no need to hide anything regarding it. In fact it is our most popular and booked accommodation. This guest chose to make us responsible for her lack of awareness and lack of accountability. For VRBO guests, please continue to enjoy our unique retreat as you all have for years. For those who rent their homes to VRBO guests, take heed and avoid this guest....as you may regret being kind and opening up your home to strangers.
