Oceanside Oasis - King Suite, Walk < 2 Short Blocks to Ocean & Tide Pools!

Thanks for the feedback, we are happy to say that we have no problems with ants since your check out. We found the problem was the soda cans and food you left throughout the house. We were happy to drop off the ant traps and spray that you requested during your stay. We also had the house professionally sprayed inside and out after you checked out. The laundry access info is clearly detailed in the house manual (which is required to read prior to booking). We do have the option for laundry room use per the listing. We would have been more than happy to accomodate you had we known during your stay. Most guests are only coming for a few nights (as you did) and shouldn't be bringing their dirty clothes with them. There is always the local laundromat, which I guess is what the people staying at the hotels or other short term rentals do. Glad you had a great time!

Thank you Jamie for your feedback. It's always disappointing to get a review after a guest does not read the listing, view photos or communicate with the host. To avoid any confusion, the first sentence in our listing description is asking potential guests to read the description and house manual prior to booking. We are glad you had a nice time but wish you would have read the listing which discloses the information about the laundry and garage in the first paragraph (we are very transparent and do not have "fine print"). We have, and often have guests as well, with expensive bikes and lock them in the enclosed dog run (just like you did) even though it is an extremely safe, sleepy beach town and have left bikes in front and not had any problems. We recently purchased our new refrigerator, but unfortunately there is an issue that is under warranty that the previous guests may or may not have mentioned in a review, but did not let us know about it. We are aware now of the issue and are waiting on the warranty department for repairs. We didn't know an ice dispenser was on anyone's deal breaker list, but apologize for the inconvenience. For the last 3 years renting this property, we never had one at all in the old fridge and not one complaint ever! Sometimes the cost of doing business (laundry fee to manage the extra utility use, detergent, wear and tear on the machines, etc) may not always be a popular fee to incur, but necessary. We do our best to over deliver with all the other amenities that weren't mentioned, thank you for your booking!

We aren’t sure what was going on during your stay that had you so angry, but our listing is accurately described on the booking site. We post over 2 dozen photos to showcase all our properties. Somehow your complaints (that you saved for this review) were never brought to our attention during your stay (when we may have been able to accommodate you and make any corrections needed). Not sure how else to inform our guests that the fireplace is not an amenity for use, it is part of the living room, so we can’t delete it in the photos. Our photos show some views out of the windows with the peek-a-boo ocean view. Another photo is from the front of the house with grand view of the ocean. The thermostat is adjustable, and a Nest, so we could see that you adjusted it to 71 degrees during your stay, not sure why you are making so many false statements. We don’t have any small print in our listing description, and the first sentence of our listing says. “guests are required to read the description and the house manual and send us a message that you have done so” (to avoid confusion and answer most of your questions right off the bat). The sofa has a reinforced bottom because of bad guest treatment, the King bed in master is new, don’t know if it was “soft” to you, but that is something that would be impossible to please everyone since each guest will have a different preference for level of firmness or softness. The rest of your review is easily corrected with the truth, but based on the numerous excellent reviews, we don’t feel we need to justify your negativity. Thank you though for now bringing your issues up to us on a Public Platform, but not to us, which would be the right thing to do (allow us the opportunity to fix any concerns)! The fireplace is not listed as an amenity and actually states (if you read the listing as you agreed you did, clearly says, “for safety reasons, there is no fireplace use”).. This is a pretty common rule in Cambria homes for short term rentals. ice maker difficultly, it has since been repaired. We didn’t want to air your dirty laundry here, but maybe it would be a good thing to mention, for other hosts that may be reading this, how you tried to extort money from us in exchange for a good review.
