This perfect little cabin is just ten minutes from Hayward, Wisconsin, a very special place “up north”. Sitting right on the shore of Sunset Bay, this small but mighty cabin offers you all the amenities you could need on a vacation full of nature and lake sport fun! We have taken lots of pride to carefully and tastefully renovate virtually the entire cabin. You will find it charming, clean, and ready for you to relax & enjoy!
Nelson Lake is a full recreation lake that offers swimming, kayaking, boating, jet skiing, and some of the best fishing in the region! We have Kayaks available for use and you can rent a pontoon from the neighboring Revelle’s Resort just two minutes away. Play on the lake or go into town to catch a lumberjack show. It’s a quick scenic drive up to Copper Falls State Park where you will experience breathtaking views of the areas largest waterfalls and natural stone canyons. In the mornings, enjoy a cup of coffee on the screened in porch and listen to the loons. Then take a hike or mountain bike ride on one of the endless area trails looking for all types of wild life, berries, and exploring nature in its best form. You will see deer, Fox, birds, maybe a herd of elk, giant snapping turtles and even black bears!
In the winter, enjoy a variety of cold weather sports including ice skating, snowmobiling, ice fishing and cross country ski on the lake or take a 5 minute drive to one of the Birkie trail heads. Hayward is the home of the American Birkebeiner, the largest cross country ski race in North America! No matter what it is you desire, if it has to do with the outdoors, Hayward has it.
Our cabin is fully stocked and adorably decorated. All you need to bring is your own coffee and charcoal if you would like to use the grill. It has a queen sized bedroom, a second bedroom with a twin over full bunk bed and a pull out sleeper with an additional twin bed. We recommend 4 guests for maximum comfort but the cabin will accommodate up to 6 if necessary. We have now added WIFI! We also have a ton of movies available for you to watch so relax, and unplug! The living room TV is a Roku TV and also has Netflix and Hulu available. Most apps and websites will allow you to cast to the TV. In May of 2020 we put an addition onto the bathroom and gutted it for a brand new beautiful and spacious bathroom. We also added laundry, we just ask that you bring your own detergent if you'd like to use the washer/dryer.
We hope you enjoy our cabin!

Our host was very efficient with check in process and answered all questions promptly. The cabin was so nice and cozy. I especially liked the screened in porch and view from the fire pit. Very quiet and peaceful. I will be back!!
We enjoyed our stay. The weather was cold and rainy so we were glad the cabin had such comfortable chairs, a TV, and a well-appointed kitchen. When it got a little nicer, we sat on the porch and also made a fire in the outdoor fire pit and watched the lake. Wished it had been warm enough to kayak.
We very much enjoyed our stay. The cabin was perfect for our needs. We were able to dock our boat on the property and had plenty of parking for our trailer and vehicle. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed.

Thank you so much for staying, I'm glad you had a nice time, I hope you caught lots of fish!
The cabin was exactly as described. Very cute and made us feel at home. Especially loved the evenings sitting by the firepit. Larissa was easy to contact and responded to us quickly whenever we had questions. Definitely will stay there again if we go to the North Woods.
This the cutest cabin ever. The decor was charming and not overdone! The beds very comfortable. The view out of that living room window lets you forget everything. The cabin contained everything (and more) that we needed. We lit up a campfire every night. The provided wood was an absolute bonus!

Thank you so much for the great review! It makes me so happy to be able to share this special place with guests...I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay! You're welcome back any time!
All the check-in details will be emailed to you prior to your arrival. The kitchen is very well equipped with all the necessary appliances and utensils you could possibly need. The refrigerator and stove top worked perfectly. The frosted beer mugs just waiting to fill and toss down a cold one upon your arrival!
We had an enjoyable stay. We fell in love with the lake and the fishing was pretty good. A few rainy days allowed us to explore the area and relax in the cabin. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a quiet relaxing place.
Loved our stay at the cabin! Great updated bathroom with skylight, washer and dryer is a bonus. Located right on a lake with a small beach. It was perfect for our family of four. The kids loved the bunk bed, and we appreciated the DVD movie selection. Kitchen is well stocked with appliances and utensils. You can hear the call of loons on the lake in the evenings.. we spotted some hummingbirds at the birdfeeder, and we spotted many deer in the area. For kid activities in the area, we recommend the lumberjack show, Cable bike park about 15 mins away, and the Wayside Wanderings Natural Play Area. The owner is great with communication and is so very helpful when I realised after heading home that I left some things behind at the cabin!
Smooth sailing checking in! Great response from owners, Everything you could need was there! Oh, bring laundry detergent and fishing bait. Beautiful view from our picture window, and the chipmunks, Steve and Samantha were the most entertaining with their antics! Rented a pontoon from Revelles and the dock we were provided was perfect. Filled our limits several times on panfish! Beautiful lake! Campfire ring and chairs was a perfect spot to watch the sun set ending the day.

Thank you for the great review, Renne! I aim for all guests to have a wonderful experience with everything they need for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. I'm so glad you caught lots of fish as well...it's a great lake...I'd love to invite you to stay again any time!
Accurately described. Cozy cabin right on Nelson lake. Loved having access to washer and dryer. Bathroom was nice. The view from the front window was beautiful. There is no fish house, but have a freezer for fish carcass in main garage. The dock is down a slight hill but its a nice dock, also no power at dock. Overall, our family enjoyed our stay, and the host was easy to get a hold of. Our son enjoyed using the kayaks.

Thank you for your review! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. We are currently looking at rebuilding the fish house and getting electricity run to the docks so hopefully next time these amenities will be there for you! Enjoy the rest of your summer.
This is a very cute cabin, and had everything you could need . It is a small space, works well for two or three but the full capacity of 6 would be crowd unless the others are children. The lake view is lovely, we used kayak provided also. The grounds are well maintained. We had no need for heat or air but both are there. Water pressure good, and water tastes good too. Town is close drive. My only issue was the steps to enter, one big step , if you have mobility or climbing issues this was difficult. Once inside no obstacles.. the owner is pro.pt with responses and very helpful. .overall a lovely visit.
Super cute, clean, well stocked cabin on a lake. Very well cared for, a true getaway! Kids (and parents) were sad to leave. My only suggestion would be a little info at the cabin about areas of the property that are accessible to the renters, owners very responsive to questions. We are already planning our return visit.

Thank you Ashley! I'm so glad you guys had a nice time. Good suggestion, I will put an info sheet in our binder for future renters...we are awaiting on a couple of votes for use of the individual firepits so that should be resolved very shortly as that will be a big one to include! Feel free to reach out any time for a future stay!
Cabin is cozy and clean with most things needed. Larissa was a great host who answered all my questions. I grew up on the old resort the cabin used to be a part of. So many wonderful memories. Bathroom and having a washer and dryer was really nice. You'll enjoy yourself if you stay here. I'll book again
