Walk to Beach, enjoy the sheep at Saturday Farmhouse

Bedrooms 4
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 7 nights

About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms + Library, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 9)

(Saturday Farm has had the honor of being featured in BH and G's Country Garden Magazine this year. And Jobey is on the cover! Look for it; it's the Early Spring 2017 Edition. ). Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, this authentically restored antique farmhouse and 1/2 acre farm puts out a whole crop of Saturdays! It is a joy and it's everything you'd hope for - restful, refreshing, comfortable, and welcoming. Enjoy lush gardens and lots of privacy. There is a wonderful wooden swing and a double-wide cotton hammock for relaxing. "Saturday Farm" is a beautiful home and is personally looked after. We aren’t online 24/7 . You may see a few hours delay in getting a reply from us on these advertising sites, but its worth the short wait! We know the area really well of course and we can answer any questions you may have and we are available by phone all day.

Sea View Park is just 1/3 mile away. It includes Sea View Beach, walking trails, a children's play area and gardens. It is just 1/2 mile to 2 other beaches - Belmont and Sea Street Beach and just a little further to many more beaches. The Harwich Conservation Land is just over 1/2 mile away; here there are hundreds of acres of bike trails, lakes, rivers and ponds and cranberry bogs.

In the fall and winter the fireplace is available and in the summer the outdoor fire pit is a treat. Our small, lovable sheep are right next door and love to graze; they are our quiet lawnmowers. They are very child friendly. We're happy to share them with your family or if you'd be more comfortable if we did not let them graze while you are there, we are okay with that too. We can arrange a wagon ride from the Baa Boys upon request.

We will prepare the house beautifully for your arrival and provide the key to your own private Cape Cod week of Saturdays. You will not be working with a management company - only the owners (Cindy and Harry). Your enjoyment and comfort is what we are working toward.

Light, roomy and relaxing, the living room, sun room and den provide several seating areas and an extensive library of books, movies, and board games. You can enjoy sunning or reading outside on one of the many Adirondack chairs where there are fragrant flowers in the front yard and backyard gardens. Outdoor games are available and a picnic table is in place for a great family picnic. (Additional folding tables are available.)

This house continues to be an inspiration for artists and photographers... perfect for weddings, family gatherings, reunions, gramma's 90th birthday, etc. : )

Here is what other guests have said:

'Everywhere I have spent time in this extraordinary home I have made discoveries. Warm, comfortable, beautiful, soulful, artistic are words that come to mind. The Baa Boy bells, softest sheets, inspiration everywhere. Oh my, what a wonderful week of Saturdays. No doubt the vibrations will continue to resonate long after this week. Thank you both for creating your lives and sharing.' Lee-Ann from Virginia, July

'Saturday Farm was everything we anticipated and more. The house was a joy to be in with all the wonderful art, books, and lovingly furnished rooms. Our meals around the dining room table are now fond memories that we will carry forever - especially 'Lobster Night'.

Thank you for a perfect Cape Cod experience.' Molly, California. May

'Our stay at Saturday Farm was wonderful. What an enchanting place! Bromley and Jobey {the lanbs} were, of course, favorites with everyone. No one wanted to leave. Thank you so much for having such a gem to offer.' Liz from Colorado. May

'We have had such a wonderful time here. We love all the small attention to detail both in all of the rooms as well as the gardens. The outdoor spaces are articulated so nicely - we really appreciated and used all of them. Usually as a family, when we have an occasion to celebrate we come to the Cape. This has been the BEST house we have ever had here. It helped so much to make our mom's 85th birthday a big success. A joyful time! The fire pit was a great addition - all 12 of us sat around making, of course, S'mores. The kitchen worked great for this many people and when we could eat outside we all fit nicely at the picnic tables. You are very thoughtful in everything and it did not go unnoticed on us. Oh, yes the sun room was a very comfortable gathering place even for this many people. The outdoor shower was a real hit, especially the birds nest in the rose vine. This was great proximity to many things - bike trails, beaches, morning runs and walks, go-carts miniature golf, etc. It certainly was a home away from home!' Texas

'We've had a lovely week here. The gracious space of the house allowed all 10 of us to relax in private as well as celebrate family together. Truly is always Saturday here! ' June

Cindy and Harry,

Your house has a smile because of your TLC. It is lovely. It really feels like home here! Trish, September

'Dear Cindy and Harry,

Thank you so much for a great Cape experience. We loved everything about the house, but especially loved the beautiful gardens and walking to the beach.'

The Fanteaus (June)

'I enjoyed the beautiful house and the front and backyard. I loved the fact that you have a beach close to the house. I really loved the bedrooms and everything in the house.' Luciana, 12 years old

'A beautiful ending to a beautiful summer in a beautiful place like this house. Everyone in our group found something to enjoy, the garden, the outdoor shower the library, the kitchen, and the soul of the artist who touched this place.' Lucianna's mother (September)

'Thank you for letting us vacation in your wonderful home. Every day was beach weather and we took full advantage. The house rang with laughter and chatter and then, after awhile, napping and sleeping. We had a full international house and they all loved it here.' (August) Zoe, Germany

'Wow! What a spectacular place you have. It makes you remember the good old days when everything was so simple and ever so easy. Thank you for sharing it with us. There were so many moments spent here that will be remembered forever.' Kerry, South Africa

Charming Home with Lovely Innkeepers

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Saturday Farm last weekend, savoring coffee and slow mornings in the sunroom and wine around the fire pit in the evenings. The home is thoughtfully decorated and cozy as can be. Though we didn't spend much time in Dennisport, the house is conveniently located within 15 minutes of the darling town of Chatham, and only a few minutes from beautiful bike trails and beaches. Cindy and Harry were more than accommodating, and we'd highly recommend the home to anyone looking to visit the area.

Christmas on the Cape

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful Christmas visit! I would come back to this property in a minute. Everything about it was perfect, from the well equipped kitchen with its fully working antique stove, to the newer rear sunroom where we spent most of our time. We had 9 people for most dinners and never felt crowded. The details and work that Cindy and Harry have invested in the house and grounds is mind boggling. We even had a Christmas tree and decorations in one of the parlors, making it a perfect room for opening presents.

OH! I can't forget about the sheep! They were so cute with each having distinct personalities. Loved going out to visit them multiple times each day.

An added perk: The weather was perfect for walks to the nearby beaches. I can't wait to go visit the property in the summer to see the magnificent flower plantings and hope to stay there again soon.

Wonderful farm house Christmas family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

I would leave more than 5 stars, if it were possible for this rental. Firstly, the property is spectacular. The photos do not do justice. Fabulous 18th century home with tons of character, and modern amenities. The hosts, Cindy and Harry, are terrific. Lots of helpful info about the house and the area. I wish we could have stayed longer. My family and I will treasure this Christmas for years to come. Thank you.

Wonderful Cape Cod Home

  • 5 of 5

I booked Saturday Farm as a reunion get away with my five girlfriends from High School in the Midwest. We now live all over the country and came together to celebrate our big 70th birthdays! My husband joined us and put up with all five of us and helped out in many ways!!! The place is charming, centrally located on the Cape so it was easy to get around and go to the major towns for shopping, etc. Everything was completely well stocked. The owners, Cindy and Harry , are wonderful and we felt completely at home with them being in the house behind us. Then, there were the baa boys...the resident sheep who just made the whole week even better. They are simply adorable! In conclusion, I would highly recommend Saturday Farm!

A week of Saturdays

  • 5 of 5

I just returned from a week with my husband, children and spouses and two young grandchildren at Saturday Farm. We could not have been more pleased with the Farm. The description accurately describes the physical space, but cannot describe the wonderful, peaceful vibe that all of us are now missing. Cindy and Harry are very gracious hosts, there when you arrive, but never intrusive; it was nice to "catch" Cindy for a conversation one lazy afternoon; the farmhouse itself is absolutely wonderful, full of books and treasures and everything you need to enjoy a comfortable stay. The yard was great for our little ones, a one year old and a nineteen month old. Great for stretching legs in the early morning and exploring while the adults were preparing dinner. The wooden swing, hammock and fire pit were all happily used. A visit to the Baa Boys each day was a highlight for them, and to be honest for the rest of us! The beach is an easy walk or quick drive, by everyone's account the best ice cream is at Auntie's just up the road, and it is very easy to explore many areas of the Cape from here. While there are only two showers, one of them being the outdoor shower, it was never a problem for our group of 10. In fact the only line-up was for the outdoor shower which we all enjoyed. Beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, and all amenities are either a walk or short car ride away. All in all a simply wonderful holiday in a wonderful place. My week of Saturdays will stay with me for a long time and I hope to be able to return there again.

Saturday Farm - A real crowd pleaser!

  • 5 of 5

I booked this house a few months ago for a girls weekend (9 girls) and just returned yesterday from our 4 night stay. I'm currently in Saturday Farm post depression along with the rest of our group. The majority had not been to the cape before and this house (along with Jobey and Bromley) sure made quite the impression on the group. It seriously is the cutest place ever. Cindy was always prompt with e-mails before and during the trip and made sure we had everything we needed. It was nice that she and Harry (and the baaa boys) were so close if we needed anything but also never weird that they were around outside tending to the sheep/yard. Cindy is a great group photographer as well;) The house decor is so cute, I'm pretty sure there was a tea set in almost every room and a variety of teas to use in the kitchen. The house was very clean and it was really nice having towels and sheets provided. It is also 2 blocks from RiteAid for random things we forgot. The only things I would advise is that the house isn't air conditioned and there are only 2 showers (one being the outside shower that was everyone's favorite) so just be prepared for that and it won't be an issue. I didn't realize until a week before we left that only one room had a/c but most rooms have a fan, you might have to look in a closet though, but they helped a lot with blowing the cool night air through the house. The only time I really had an issue without having A/C was the afternoon I got there and was running around the house putting presents that I shipped to the house in each room and putting sheets on the beds, after that I got used to it and it wasn't an issue. There also aren't an abundance of power outlets but enough to charge phones, etc but you might need to unplug something to plug something else in when you need to use a hair dryer, etc. The overall biggest complaint about the house/trip was that we didn't spend enough time enjoying everything available at the house. The bonfire was a great way to spend the evening and enjoy time with our group. Being a group of girls, none of us were really all that familiar with starting the fire, but Cindy talked me through it via e-mail and provided everything we needed to get it going and to keep it burning. The house really has everything you need to make for an enjoyable vacation with family & friends. We all want to rebook for next summer! Thanks again Cindy and Harry (and the baaaa boys) for sharing your special home with us!!

About Cindy Sauers

Handyman Harry and I love what we do - we spend our days hammering, painting, and working to make the things we see more beautiful. It makes us very happy to see so many people make wonderful memories in the environments that we create. We work to make Saturday Farm, Island Cottage Holly House and The Barn magical places to spend time alone or with loved ones.

Cindy Sauers purchased this house in 1997

Why Cindy Sauers chose West Harwich

Who doesn't love Cape Cod? And Harwich is just like Olde Cape Cod.

What makes this house unique

I'd have to say the sheep. But also, the house and property are inspiring and welcoming. There is a wonderful old wooden bench swing, a hammock. Firepit and there is just something about the house that makes you feel like you are going to have a happy vacation.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Cindy and Harry, Thank you so much for opening your home to us - it is beautiful, comfortable, and well-furnished. Even with the less than optimal weather, it was a lovely place to spend our 1st year college reunion. And it was great to meet the Baa Boys.
