The house was very clean and very lovely. Quick walk to the seawall. This house is a historic home so you do need to use a little caution and a little extra TLC while staying there but otherwise the place was perfect and the hosts were very responsive..

Perfect getaway

We enjoyed our stay here. The check in was easy. Met Joe and Joyce and they are very friendly and welcoming. The home is older but a historic beauty, in my opinion. If we did well as visitors we would love to stay again.

Family Time

We had a great time, and it was super comfortable stay. We love that everyone had a comfy place to sleep and there was lots of room to relax, play games, and have fun together.Thanks for a great stay!

Great location with plenty of space.

Was really happy with the location of the homes less than a 5 minute walk to the beach! There was plenty of room and beds for my party of 5, and the hot tub was a great bonus! The host was very quick to respond to any questions and we really enjoyed our stay, and it was even better that we were able to bring our small dogs with us. It is a historical home, so rightfully the owners want to preserve it and have some rules like no rolling suitcases on the wood floors, but we had no issues following them.

Galveston visit

Had a good stay in a sturdy, inviting historic home. Just people no pets this trip. Good place to be home base for summer visits to the beach, pleasure pier and the Strand. Parking was on the street, not in a driveway.

Family vaca 2024

Great house with great location. Short walk to the beach. Owners were very responsive. Home is spacious with a unique layout that we liked. There is only one TV in the home located in the living room, but we ended up liking it that way to give the kids a chance to disconnect from the tv for a while. Air conditioner worked good and two good fans were furnished as well. Our family enjoyed spending evenings on the big porch.

Love Galveston wont stay here again

This place is advertised as pet friendly. You would think that means kid friendly and familybfriendly. Yet as soon as we got there there there was a big note on the door that said dont roll your suit cases across the floor. There was a note in the book thats said dont move the furniture. These are the original floors. The owner then sent me a message that said make sure the kids dont track ocean water or sand in the house. By the way the owners are living in the house attached to the rental so they were watching us frequently and stopped over to tell us what to do frequently. The kids accidentally left the cover off the hot tub. He made sure to yell at me that it needed to go back on.The whole point of a VRBO is to feel like you are on your own. While eating dinner on our last night there a chair split when i stood up. I weigh 185. They were going to charge us 60 to fix it. It had been broke before you could see the split line in it. They provided 3 parking passes and we We left at 11pm and missed putting the parking tag back. As soon as i realized i knew that we would be mailing it back. The next day i was threatened by the owners that if they did not get it back they would charge me $500. I advised them i would be mailing it as soon as we got back home which i did and provided them with the tracking number. The owner then proceeded to contact me 2 more times wanting to know where it was and that it hadn't gotten there. The washer had mold the dryer ripped up 2 swimsuits 3 t

Great Vacation Stay

This home had everything our group of 7 adults needed. The location near the seawall was perfect and we all enjoyed our stay. Easy check-in/check-out and responsive hosts. We would recommend this home to anyone visiting the area.

Lovely home

The home is just lovely!! We loved this house. The location was perfect. Even with kids, it was easy back and forth to the beach. We were very comfortable and everything we needed was there. The hosts were so nice and easy to contact. Great place to stay in Galveston!

Spring break

The location is great for kids, walking distance to the park, beach, and Pleasure Pier. The owners were super nice, enjoyed our kids' laughter, and very responsive to requests. They even provided a pot, utensils and spices for a shrimp boil. They have thought of all the necessities, and it was nice to have basics like dish soap and laundry tabs available. We would definitely stay here again!

Beach-y Christmas

Joe & Joyce have an absolutely beautiful home that's located so conveniently close to Galveston's highlights. We stayed over Christmas, and the house was beautifully decorated in addition to the wonderful architecture. Joyce was very communicative and helpful; the heat unfortunately went out on Christmas Day, but they still had it fixed within 2 hours!!! Check in and checkout were seamless and easy. If we return to Galveston for another trip, we'll certainly be looking up this home again!

Destination wedding

The place was really great. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of towels. My only issue was that it advertised being pet friendly but the possibility of causing damage was too great. The dogs we planned to bring were too big. The pet owner had to return home and missed the wedding.

Great Place

We came to visit from North Carolina to Nederland to visit family. We booked this VRBO so we would be closer to the beach. So glad we chose this one. The home was beautiful, inside and out, exceeded our expectations. The owners were wonderful and very helpful. If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay, we highly recommend.

A gem close to the beach

Joyce and Joe have a beautifully maintained property 2 blocks from the beach. The kitchen had extra sets of dishes with complete cookware, utensils and 2 coffee machines. The a/c worked well. Full washer and dryer. Soap was provided in kitchen, laundry room and baths. Our hosts were quick to answer any questions. Our family of 10 gives this home a 10.
